Chapter 19: Past Grievances with Jiang Xinxin
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Gu Tiantian began to recall the previous questions.
Why did I suddenly become confused?
Why did I suddenly get tangled up with that man?
Whose doing is it, or is there another reason?
It couldn’t be Zhang Haiyang, even though Zhang Haiyang brought me along and left midway.
My trust in Zhang Haiyang is unwavering; I don’t doubt him one bit.
Even that ever-elusive Jiang Xinxin is worth my suspicion.
As for why Jiang Xinxin targets me, Gu Tiantian can actually understand.
Thinking back to when I first joined the company, I heard colleagues saying my appearance is sweeter and purer than Jiang Xinxin when she debuted over ten years ago. Jiang Xinxin would then look at me with disdain.
It’s precisely because of this reason that I’m still doing odd jobs around Zhang Haiyang, rather than following big stars like other assistants.
As a newcomer, just entering the company, Jiang Xinxin is a popular leading star, naturally, she wouldn’t think highly of a newbie like me.
Gu Tiantian didn’t get discouraged; I chose Haitian Entertainment for the decent salary.
Besides, Zhang Haiyang treats me very well, and I’ve learned a lot following him.
Since Zhang Haiyang is Jiang Xinxin’s manager and I’m his assistant, it’s inevitable that I have some contact with Jiang Xinxin.
Of course, the deterioration in my relationship with Jiang Xinxin has other reasons too.
One rainy day, I was slowly making my way from the underground parking lot to the company with a ton of packages, planning to return the props to the storeroom and head home for a break.
Unexpectedly, I happened to see Jiang Xinxin being all lovey-dovey with a stout middle-aged man inside a car.
The scene...
I didn’t dare to watch more, so I quickly moved away.
But because I moved too fast and the things I carried were heavy, I carelessly dropped them with a loud thud.
The things were quite heavy, causing a big commotion.
Instantly, it caught the attention of the two inside the car who were in their lovey-dovey moment.
I quickly made a "very sorry" gesture and swiftly pulled up the bag, heading toward the elevator.
Not even daring to look back.
That day, while I was organizing those props in the storeroom, logically speaking, Jiang Xinxin should’ve still been lovey-dovey with that middle-aged man or their passion couldn’t be contained, but she suddenly appeared at the door.
I was startled and immediately stood up.
"Sister Jiang."
Jiang Xinxin looked at me arrogantly, as if looking at an ant.
I didn’t mind at the time, knowing that she has held a grudge because of the colleagues’ comments.
"What did you see just now?"
Gu Tiantian was taken aback, blinked, and suddenly remembered what Brother Zhang said, sometimes it’s better to play dumb, seeing something doesn’t always mean you should acknowledge it.
Turning a blind eye can just let it pass.
So, I looked at Jiang Xinxin with a bewildered face.
"Sister Jiang, I just came back from outside, I don’t know what happened."
Jiang Xinxin looked at me with eyes growing sharper.
Inwardly, I sighed, thinking this is clearly someone being hypocritical after doing something immoral.
Luckily I’m following Zhang Haiyang, not Jiang Xinxin, or there might be a lot of undisclosed matters.
But since it’s Jiang Xinxin’s wish, I obviously wouldn’t oppose it.
"By the way, Sister Jiang, at this late hour, aren’t you going home yet?"
