Chapter 32: Ch-32: Next Round

There was pin-drop silence for a moment before someone exclaimed,

"What!!!" Olivia and Rachel, who were watching the fight, widened their eyes, and a look of disbelief appeared in their eyes as they saw the examiner being hurled backward and flying through the air.

Olivia could feel that this examiner was not weaker than the one who had tested her and was no weaker than her. Due to the game changing the structure of the world, her family had called a meeting and she had to attend, which was why she had lagged behind, and many had already caught up to her level. That meant she would have likely been unable to achieve the same result as the examiner who had just been blown away.

’Just who is he?’ Olivia’s eyes narrowed at Victor.

"How can he be this strong?" the examiner looked at Victor solemnly as he wiped the blood from his lips. His face turned grim as he looked at the weapon he had obtained with great difficulty after killing many monsters due to its low drop rate, but now it was shattered, and a pained look appeared on his face.

He took a deep breath to calm his nerves and brought out a spear and jumped toward Victor.

"Ha!"

The examiner stepped forward to thrust his spear at Victor, but Victor perfectly deflected the attack with his own wooden sword with relative ease.

After defending against the attack, Victor swung his sword in a wide arc, suddenly stopping a few inches away from the man’s body, barely missing him due to the precision and control of his movement.

"Heavens, are you seeing this? He is using a wooden sword to deflect a real spear!"

"Yeah, how is that even possible?"

"Look, the recruiters look like they want to devour him!"

The crowd gasped as they watched the spar, disbelief written all over their faces as they saw Victor contend with just a simple wooden sword. Someone pointed at the recruiters, who were fidgeting in their seats and looked like they wanted to jump in and grab Victor to make him join their faction.

"You win... again." The bulky man lowered his spear with a defeated smile on his face, though one could see clear excitement in his eyes.

"Thank you for the experience." Victor lowered his sword and clasped his hands to the instructor.

After the match, the examiner had his arm checked, and the doctors told him that his bones were fractured, which left him speechless. He was thankful he had sacrificed his sword to reduce the impact of the blow; otherwise, just thinking about the consequences made a chill run down his spine.

After that, Victor walked toward the next room and saw a giant stone in the middle of it. Soon, after ten minutes, all the Awakeners who passed the first round arrived, and an examiner also arrived and started explaining the purpose of the stone.

"Everyone will come here one by one and use their technique to attack this stone, and it will display a number, which is the score. Then, after a week, we will gather the scores worldwide and determine the rankings. The higher your score, the higher the ranking you will get," the examiner explained calmly.

"Now, let the test begin!" announced the test supervisor next to the measuring stone.

As the first in line, a young man didn’t hesitate at all and walked step by step toward the stage with an arrogant look on his face. He wore a gauntlet and then shouted,

"Hah!"

His gauntlet suddenly shot forward with a red hue as it explosively struck the test stone. After the attack, he quickly withdrew without pausing.

"Attack value: 258!" announced the presenter, surprise evident in his eyes upon seeing the data.

Immediately, the plaza was filled with exclamations.

"No wonder he is arrogant; his attack value reached 258 points. I heard only a few can get scores in the triple digits from the previous Awakeners who had attempted the test these past few days!" exclaimed someone from below the stage.

"Wow, starting off with such a high score!" another person shouted in surprise.

"This is troublesome," commented someone, feeling the pressure.

Amid the murmurs of the crowd, the young man smiled and calmly stepped off the stage.

Then, according to the line order, participants stepped up one by one to take the test. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

After completing the test, some showed joy and excitement, while others looked sad and worried.

Each time someone finished the test and found themselves in last place, their face turned pale, their hands clenched tightly, sweat beading on their forehead as they stared intently at the next participants, praying internally for someone with a lower score to appear.

And when finally someone did score lower, that person would breathe a sigh of relief, almost collapsing to the ground. The one taking their place at the bottom would repeat the same actions, anxiously awaiting someone with a worse result.

As the tests progressed, most participants had already been evaluated. Victor watched calmly as the young man who had gotten the highest score had dropped to fourth place. First was Olivia, her score was 500.

Second place was Andrew, and he scored 415 points.

Third place was Rachel, scoring 345 points.

With no more surprising results, it was finally Victor’s turn for the test.

Olivia and the others who had seen his performance and were waiting on the side, upon seeing it was Victor’s turn, put aside their smiles, and their faces grew more serious.

Even the examiner who had seen him overwhelm the previous examiner directed his attention toward him.

As Victor stepped onto the stage, some also recognized him.

"It’s him! The one who effortlessly beat an examiner," someone exclaimed, recognizing Victor.

"So that’s him. I wonder what his score will be."

Ignoring all the comments, Victor calmly looked at the stone.

Moonlight Slash

Rank: B

Description: A sword technique which generates a flying slash that shines with moonlight. This technique is said to have been created by a sword master who observed the moon for a month without blinking.

-------

This sword technique was the most powerful one that the Silvernum family possessed, so before logging out he had learned this technique.

His eyes sharpened as he took a deep breath, and the sword in his hand started to shine with a white glow resembling moonlight. He made sure to hold back as he struck the stone.

"Boom!" Without any pause or tricks, the attack firmly struck the test stone.

After a moment, a line appeared on the stone: "Attack value: 2000."

Everyone’s eyes bulged upon seeing the score, and Victor cursed inwardly, "Damn, did I overdo it?"
