The impact kicked up dust and debris which obstructed my view, so there was no way I could determine the state of Sherman’s shield.

I waited for the dust to settle.

Boom!

Another boom echoed behind me. I glanced quickly to see Shadow Girl unleash a new wave of destruction, her shadows were now devouring the Orcs, pulling them into the holes that I was sure didn’t seem to lead anywhere in this world.

Damn.

She was terrifying.

The dust settled slowly and what I saw startled the living the day light out me.

Everything remained still, nothing had changed.

Not Sherman, not the shield, not my shield.

Both our attacks were ineffective on eachother, after using my supreme skill with a power increase up to 80%

It was so disappointing.

Whatever Sherman used to protect himself, it was a damn good one.

I could feel the adrenaline in my blood triple as Sherman burst out laughing in glee.

Did he think he won?, my armor had endless energy, where he was drawing his artillery from, it was sure to be exhausted sooner or later.

But I don’t have that time.

I grimaced and stiffened my muscles.

"Haha... How in the world could you think you can defeat me with your punny strength?"

Sherman banged his knee as he gleamed down at me with a stern face.

"You little humans do not deserve this perfect planet, you use your waste and pollution to degrade and destroy this wonderful gift of nature!!"

"My species and I cannot simply seat by and watch your type run this planet to the ground!!"

I narrowed my eyes to a slit as I glared at him, he seemed hopeful even with the fact that more than half of his army had been wiped out.

I covered the effective range of the Flash Step in the blink of an eye, but it was still not enough to get to Sherman’s position.

Another burst of speed, my feet propelling me like a bullet train but instead of wheels and a rail, it was two, golden, strong feet barely touching the ground for upto a 100th of a second.

In less than two seconds I reached the steps that led to Sherman’s throne, this was were the effective range of his shield started, this was were I should target.

"Argghhh!"

I leaped into the air, swinging my fist backwards ready to land it heavily on to the shield.

I raised down hundred of punches on the shield in less than a 10th of a 100th of a second, the shield emitted electrical discharge as it came under pressure from my attack.

Then I saw it.

A crack!

It opened up, not to the naked eye. But, my system identified an anomaly in the electrical field.

I knew this was my chance to get to Sherman.

"Come out!"

Whoooooshhhh!

I flew up, just a couple meters from the ground, and came down crashing on it with yet another massive punch that created an even bigger crack.

I glanced at Sherman, the look on his face had changed, he wasn’t smiling anymore. He was in shock, just sitting there watching me do my thing.

"Come out!".

I flew up again.

I slammed my fist together and just like that, a series of cannons manifested from my arms.

I grimaced and clenched my jaw so hard I could break an elephants bone with the pressure.

"Supreme Skill: Ultra-Canon Incinerate!!!!"

The blast was the final straw for Sherman’s shield. The electric shield began eating up and recesseding completely leaving Sherman exposed.

"That’s it, finally!".

Just then, Sherman got up from his throne and powered up the bioenergy blaster originating from his back.

He fired without wasting anytime, or feeling sorry for his shield. He saw that I was a huge threat and he had to take care of me if he wanted to come out of this battle alive.

The air bent abd shattered around it as the energy bolt zipped towards me like a homing missile, impossible to dodge.

But I didn’t intend to dodge it.

I crossed my arms just as the blast struck, the force was enough to knock me back several meters through the air. But with the active skill, it absorbed most of the impact.

My armor vibrated from the overload, as my internal system blinking red from the energy input guage filling to its maximum capacity.

Still airborne, I spun mid flip and lunched a retaliation beam of my own.

Sherman barely made it out of that attack alive as the beam grazed his side by an inch of a hair. Making its way to his throne and completely destroying it and its surroundings.

"You’ll have to do better than that!" Sherman roared, he rose into the via a heavy powered jet back that was also path of his bioengineered enhancement.

Below us, Shadow Girl finished the last of the Orcs and the battle field was clear allowing the strike team to regain their bearings.
