Evolving My Mythic Legion With A Legendary Skill-Chapter 85: The Beginning
Neil quickly arrived on the hot side, this time he had covered his shoes and all of the others’ with a special fluid to protect against the lava.
Last time, he was in too much of a hurry.
And this time, his armor had already evolved to the 2nd Origin.
After killing the Bogus, his kills had surpassed 1,000 and met the condition for the evolution.
He had completely forgotten and overlooked it before, even last night he had changed into loose clothes and forgot.
Only now did he remember it.
Wearing the red armor, he was no longer affected by the lava or heat, its defense had increased significantly.
The best thing was it could even endure one impossible level attack just once, though it would destroy the armor but it would protect Neil’s life.
This was an absolutely great addition, exchanging the armor for his life was not a bad deal.
After arriving in the hot zone, Neil looked around.
"Those corpses have all disappeared?" Neil was at the exact spot where he had killed all the Bogus.
There wasn’t even a trace of the corpses left, and it was certainly not just the lava’s doing.
They couldn’t have all just melted overnight, still if they did, there would be traces left.
"Did something devour them all?" he frowned, if something could devour more than fifty corpses then it must be huge.
"Lord, I am also sensing that repulsive feeling, and it’s coming from under the ground." Leon’s voice brought Neil to his senses.
"Hmm, as I thought, the Link had opened underground. So I doubt it was the same one which brought the Bogus here."
Neil mumbled, as he focused all his senses and began to walk.
Arriving at the spot where this feeling got the strongest, he paused.
"It’s probably right under me. Sigh, thankfully it’s still there." This was a good piece of news, finally some hope could be seen.
The first thing he did was try activating his skill and it worked without fail.
Then he sent messages to his teacher, this was the best time to get all the items from her.
But even after waiting, there was no reply, maybe her raid against the Beast Domain had already started.
"Damnit, I can’t wait for teacher... Nemo, find the best possible flame core in the trade centre right away." He ordered.
"Yes, master!" the assistant instantly got to work.
And after a few moments showed the very same flame core that Cinthia had shown, though the prices asked were rather high.
"Yeah, try getting it, and also find more bombs, as powerful as possible... but within our budget." He added.
Neil and the troops just waited there, as Nemo continued with the transactions.
She used up all his gene points of the 1st Origin, from Bronze to the three Diamonds.
And successfully managed to get the core, plus a few 2nd Origin level bombs, though they weren’t too powerful.
Neil had bought them just based on his instincts, he really might need them, just like the Earthquake Bomb.
"It would be impossible to bring the domain here, it would instantly catch fire. So how do I deal with the Nest?" Neil wondered, he decided to test the range of the Link.
But suddenly the ground started to tremble, at first it was so faint that none of them noticed.
But then it became more and more obvious, there was something crawling under the ground.
"Master, the ringing bell!! There is danger at the domain." Just then, Nemo’s voice sounded in his mind with great urgency.
"Let’s return for now, there is danger around the domain." Neil said and turned, running away at full speed.
Leon led the troops back, following behind Neil at full speed but weren’t as fast.
Before long they arrived at the base, the blizzard appearing even more wild.
’It feels we would freeze to death if we stay too long outside.’ Neil thought as he ran into the domain and heard the loud ringing of the bell.
"Third level danger?!!" his eyes widened in shock, this was the first time.
As soon as Leon and the others returned he started giving out orders.
"Get ready to move, Jet, drop this message to Hiroshima and return. Nemo, take the steering of the domain, we are leaving!" he said, the only place he could run to was getting closer to those prison bars.
"Yes master." Everyone got busy as the domain trembled, throwing off the snow and then slowly began to move.
There was no time to worry about others right now, he warned Hiroshima but couldn’t bring them all along.
He felt bitter but his own life and the lives of his big family were far more important.
All the elven archers were positioned, the giants unfortunately couldn’t be stationed within the limited space.
While the cloud vultures flew in circles around the domain, not straying anywhere far.
"Eli, stay inside, once things are safer I will come find you." Neil turned to Ileana and the others, speaking softly.
"..." Ileana bit her lip, and nodded. There was so much she wanted to say but knew there was no time right now.
Turning, she led Fay into the cleaning hut while all the men entered the kitchen.
On the watch towers, the four archers stood, completely focused and ready for any battle.
Though their strength was too lacking right now, only by upgrading the watch towers could their strength possibly increase.
"Leon, no matter what appears, our first choice would be to escape without engaging in a battle. As always, the command of the legion is in your hands." He added.
"Yes lord!"
Slowly, the domain started to move forward, they were closer to the centre line than the settlement.
So, after a minute, they passed by the settlement, speed increasing constantly.
Since he had friends there, it made him feel a bit guilty.
After giving the message to Hiroshima, Jet flew back towards the domain at full speed.
KRRRIII
Its faint screech was heard as the archers held back from shooting at the shadow in the fog.
But just as Jet flew closer to the domain, something flashed through the fog at very high speed.
Noticing it Neil’s expression changed, he shouted but was not fast enough, as the tail of something hidden under the ground pierced through Jet’s body.
SCRIEEEEEEEEE
A loud painful wail was heard as the thing pulled the vulture’s body down towards the ground, dragging it under the snow.
"Nooooo!!" Neil’s eyes widened, his heart stopping for a second, as he saw Jet die.
Holding the elemental bow, he shot one arrow after another into the fog but the next messages made his body freeze.
[A Cloud Vulture has died!]
[Space available in the Barracks!]
Just like that, the leader of the cloud vultures, his very first troop had died leaving Neil shaken.
And he didn’t even know what had killed the vulture.
"S- Stay careful." He shouted, his hands trembling slightly over the string of his bow.
Leon also frowned but not showing any other emotion he continued to command the troops, and moved all the cloud vultures back into the domain.
The ground trembled violently, cracks forming all over as the domain started to shake violently.
