Extra: Yandere Milfs Obsessed with me!-Chapter 155: Pandora and the Philosopher’s Stone
The Spectrum was a secret organization whose very existence was denied by most kingdoms except Alexandria. Yet, since the millennial war, it had extended its influence across all known continents. In the shadows, its agents, called the Fallen, served directly the twenty-two Demonic Princes.
For centuries, they had been the most relentless enemy of the Holy Cathedral, an elusive adversary that rarely struck head-on but always at the right place.
At the head of this organization stood three figures whose names, if publicly pronounced, would cause a shockwave throughout the civilized world.
The first was Akhazel Daeron, director of Sky City Academy, an institution renowned for training the continent’s elite.
The second was one of the most powerful sorcerers still alive. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
The third, finally, was the founder.
She had lived since the millennial war.
Over the eras, she had survived by abandoning and recreating her body, testing every race, every form, every limit. She had experimented with all magics, all techniques, all known arts and even forgotten ones. Century after century, she had refined her work until she achieved a bodily envelope she deemed perfect.
The one she had been using for nearly twenty-two years.
She was undoubtedly the only entity that could be called immortal.
The greatest alchemist this world had ever borne.
The creator of the philosopher’s stone.
And this dangerous woman was currently sitting, perfectly calm, in Director Daeron’s office.
The setting sun of Sky City tinted the tall bay windows of the director’s office purple, but the room seemed to repel the light. The atmosphere was stifling, saturated with palpable tension. Seated behind his imposing desk, Akhazel Daeron, the academy’s director, could not hide his discomfort. His posture was stiff, and his fingers, usually so firm on the knob of his cane, seemed nervous.
She wore a long dark robe and a hood that completely concealed her face. Only her gloved hand, ending in fine and elegant claws, rested on the armchair’s armrest. She slowly tapped the wood, producing the only sound in that heavy silence.
Daeron finally cleared his throat, the sound seeming crude in the silence. He attempted a polite formula, but his voice, despite his efforts, betrayed a hint of fearful reverence.
For once, the director of Sky City was genuinely nervous. The presence of this woman was enough to create tension in the air.
"So... what do I owe the visit of the most powerful Alchemist this world has ever known?"
Under the hood, a slight movement indicated that she had smiled.
"Enough with the compliments, Daeron, you know very well that doesn’t work with me," she said in an amused, coaxing tone.
"Yes, yes..." he replied, scratching his head while nodding, trying to mask his discomfort.
She did not waste time.
"How is subject 109 doing? I hope that old sorcerer came up with conclusive solutions."
Daeron straightened slightly.
"That old sorcerer is talented. Not only did he awaken the Draken lineage, but moreover... he is a perfect vessel for the Archdemon."
A brief silence followed. Then she slowly nodded.
"Good. It was about time. I created a diversion by sparking a war between the Imperial family and the Pendragon family. Now we just need to recover the Key of Solomon to summon the demons."
Daeron immediately nodded.
Daeron nodded, a forced glimmer of admiration in his gaze. "You are always so foresightful. Even more than that woman from the Holy Cathedral, so praised for her clairvoyance."
He paused, then dared the question that had been gnawing at him for a long time. "I’ve always wondered... how did you manage to obtain subject 109’s body? The maneuver must have required extreme delicacy."
She let out a slight sigh.
"In reality, my initial plan targeted the younger one, Kaiser. I had conditioned one of my homunculi many years earlier, inserting her into the Paragon County under the identity of a commoner named Adriana. Getting close to him afterward was child’s play."
"I see. Yet you ultimately didn’t choose him," Daeron observed, intrigued by this change of course.
"That’s true. At the last moment, I backed out. He resembled someone I knew from a past era a little..."
Her voice became slightly colder.
"And then that idiot homunculus suddenly fell in love with him, for no reason at all."
Daeron burst out laughing before falling silent upon seeing her stare at him.
"Ahah... that was probably not part of your calculations. But fortunately, you were able to remedy that little problem."
The woman let out a small laugh.
"Indeed. During one of Kaiser’s absences, which lasted about two years, I simply took the body of his buried brother. The genetic heritage being sufficiently similar, the final result is, for our needs, equivalent."
"Don’t you think Kaiser could have made a... superior subject?" Daeron asked, pushing a little further out of curiosity.
"Perhaps. But he already had the cursed mark and Sulyvhan’s weapons on his back. I think it will become more interesting in the future."
"A being banished from hell and cursed by the angels..." Daeron murmured. "I wonder how he ended up in this quagmire."
"Well, I will eventually find out, my dear Daeron," she replied calmly. "For now, we’re just continuing to flirt~~." The tone was teasing again.
Daeron felt a shiver run down his spine. Having this woman after you... He almost felt pity for Kaiser.
He decided to change the subject. "Anyway, it doesn’t matter. His organization, Black Neon, is starting to put sticks in our wheels. They have eliminated several of our allies in recent months."
"What’s the point of worrying about it?" she replied nonchalantly.
"Just send them an ultimatum. Make them understand that if they persist in meddling in our affairs, they won’t survive long enough to see the return of the demons."
Daeron bowed slightly from his seat.
"Very well. Everything will be done according to your wishes, Pandora... the greatest Alchemist..."
She waved her hand dismissively in annoyance.
"Stop with your compliments, Daeron~ Otherwise I’ll turn you into a common-rank monster~"
"Ah ah ah... don’t do it, don’t do it..."
Daeron laughed, but his hand clenched on his cane was clammy.
"I’m joking, my little Daeron..." she said with a slight teasing smile.
Under the hood, her iridescent eyes shone for a moment in the dimness, reminding why even the demons feared her.
