Extra's POV: My Obsessive Villainous Fiancee Is The Game's Final Boss-Chapter 346: Eighth Peak Awakens
Chapter 346: Eighth Peak Awakens
Death moved.
There was no warning. No shift of weight. No gathering of energy. Just movement that was almost too fast for the eye to follow.
The air cracked, and the Seven reacted instantly.
One of them threw up his hands and ripped open a portal behind them. It spiraled into existence, violet and wild, crackling unstably from how fast it had been created.
The Rank 9 didn’t hesitate. He dove inside the portal, and it became a free for all. Someone grabbed another, pushing them as they jumped through.
The man who had created the portal was shoved to the side. He stumbled, falling to his knees in the snow as Death’s aura finally reached them.
"No!" He screamed, and the next instant, he collapsed, dead before he hit the ground.
Another of the Seven, the one who had pushed him, tried to leap away. He made it half a step before the edge of the aura touched his heel.
He fell midair, his body folding like a marionette with cut strings.
Dead.
The portal shuddered violently, the magic around it breaking apart as the aura touched it. But just before it could unravel, Death reeled his aura back in, stopping it from destroying.
He strode forward, until he was standing before the swirling portal, his head tilted to the side as he stared at it. It shined with violet light, with a light mist rising from the flat surface.
He hesitantly raised a hand, placing it on the portal. The moment he touched the portal, it fizzled away into nothingness.
He exhaled in irritation at the sight.
"Figures."
This was one of the downsides of his ability to control death. He could stop other enhancements from affecting him and other attacks from even reaching, killing them before they could take root, but that also meant that he couldn’t use other people’s powers.
His eyes went down to the two bodies at his feet. Now, there were just three Knights remaining in the Seven As One. Weak enough for the Furies to deal with.
He chuckled, his gaze moving to the three rings of terrain that now obscured the Divine Gift.
"So, this was your plan all along. Use me to whittle down the Seven As One before you claim the Gift for yourselves. Well Played."
He’d been suspicious when he’d received the message from the Furies about a Divine Gift appearing around the Eighth mountain. The same mountain he was on.
They hadn’t specified the peak, but he should have known.
He’d decided to join the search for the Gift, even with the knowledge that the Furies could be using him.
After all, a Divine Gift was the only way to get around his limitation. If he had a Divine Gift, he’d be able to use it without the ability being killed by his aura. The Furies had known about his desire and he’d allowed himself to be taken advantage of.
His mind went to the group that had managed to kill two of the Seven. The same group he had caught a glimpse of back in Ur.
"I guess you also have your clothes cut out for you, Furies." He chuckled. "Look forward to it."

There was a pop of displaced air as three figures popped out of thin air.
"Fuck!" Thorn swore, stumbling forward.
They were standing at the same place where they had pitched their tent for the night. The same place where Lilith had killed the woman, and Ren had killed another. Their bodies still laid in the snow where they had fallen.
Their tents still stood, but the campfire was gone. And this was for one reason only. They’d teleported into the lava ring, the third ring of obstacles around the Divine Gift.
"That was close." Thorn took in big gulps of air, his hand on his chest to calm his racing heart. He straightened before looking around. "Huh."
Where before the atmosphere had been enough to freeze a man’s balls, it was now almost boiling hot. The snow that had once carpeted the ground was almost gone, steam hissing through the air as they rapidly melted, leaving behind the rocky ground for all to see.
Rivers of bubbling hot lava slowly cut through the ruck around them, creating an island of space for them to stand on. A second later, their tents were devoured as the streams of lava cut through the ground they’d been standing on.
"Let’s get out of here." Ren urgently said. It was a good thing he had left a coin back here, just in case they needed to come back. "There’s no guarantee the Seven won’t leave Death and come after us."
Without another word, they leapt over the stream of lava, making their way towards the forest in the far distance that was the second ring.
"We have two groups of players accounted for. Death and the Seven As One." Ren huffed as he leapt over another stream of lava, Lilith and Thorn following close behind.
"The only group unaccounted for is the Furies. They’re—" His words were cut off as a dark shape erupted from the stream of lava, just as he jumped, spraying hot burning liquid everywhere.
His hands immediately snapped upwards and he Pushed, sending the shape and the lava it had sprayed flying away from him, while also pushing himself back to dry land.
He skidded to a stop, Thorn and Lilith on either side of him.
"What the hell was that?" Thorn squinted.
There was a slight breeze, and the steam that was fogging up the air slowly dissipated, revealing a thick scaled alligator, lava pouring off its scales. Its eyes were a deep red as it glared at them, shaking its snout.
Then, as if on cue, the lava around them began to bubble, and one after the other, alligators began to walk out, surrounding them on all sides.
"Oh." Thorn said quietly. "Shouldn’t have asked."
As one, the alligators took a step forward.
