Extra's POV: My Obsessive Villainous Fiancee Is The Game's Final Boss-Chapter 75: Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
Gwen stepped into the waiting carriage, settling onto the comfortable seat with a sigh.
The began moving and the gentle sway of the vehicle barely registered as she leaned back, eyes gleaming with amusement.
Across from her, Isolde, her best friend, sat with her arms crossed, her keen blue eyes studying Gwen with mild impatience.
"Did you find the rapier you were looking for?" Isolde asked, her brows rose. "I don’t even understand why you love rapiers. Just use an axe and chop the person’s head off. Simple and straightforward."
Gwen chuckled at her friend’s words, adjusting the cuffs of her sleeves. "I did find the rapier. But I also found something much more interesting."
Isolde raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
Gwen stretched her arms, as if recalling something particularly entertaining. "Ren Ross."
Isolde tilted her head in confusion. "Who?"
"I have no idea either." She grinned. "Who is he? Where did he come from? I want to know. But what was truly fascinating was his fiancee. Lilith Underwood."
Isolde’s lips curled in amusement. "I take it she left quite the impression?"
Gwen chuckled softly in response. "You could say that. I don’t like her eyes."
Isolde’s brows rose. "Her eyes? Don’t tell me—"
"She has the eyes of someone who has already claimed a great prize and won’t let anyone so much as glance at it. It was almost adorable. Almost."

"And that shouldn’t be any of your business. Just walk away." Isolde’s brows lifted slightly. "Or are you saying her eyes bothers you?"
Gwen’s smirk deepened. "Of course not."
"But I do dislike possessiveness. It makes people complacent. It makes them think they’ve won before the game has even begun. And Lilith Underwood needs to learn a lesson."
Isolde sighed, shaking her head knowingly. "And what lesson is that?"
Gwen turned to look out of the carriage window, where Ren and Lilith walked through the marketplace in the distance, unaware of the watchful eyes trailing them.
"That nothing is ever truly secure." Gwen said, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "I think I’ll take Ren from her."
Isolde sighed, crossing her legs as she tapped a thoughtful finger against her arm. "You really are impossible, Gwen. But I won’t stop you."
She smiled to herself, turning to look out the window. Gwen going after another innocent couple? This should be entertaining.

Not too far away, Thorn and Elias walked side by side, their eyes ever watchful, scanning the crowd and keeping an eye on their charges at the same time, while still managing to carry on a casual conversation.
"That was a close one." Thorn muttered dramatically. "It was a good thing we didn’t just barge into the weapon shop. But I’ll admit I half expected lady Lilith to break something over that lady’s head."
Elias chuckled, his hand coming up to scratch his nose. "You weren’t the only one. I was already preparing to step in if she decided to escalate things."
Thorn scoffed. "Step in? What would we even have been able to do? You mean you’d stand there and pray it ended quickly?"
Elias smirked. "That’s an important skill to have. I call it tactical observation."
Thorn shook his head. "Well, either way, I’m surprised. But I’m also disappointed. I thought I’d get to see her actually fight someone to the death."
Elias shot him a look before shaking his head in exasperation. "Maybe this means she’ll behave throughout our stay in the capital." He said, a hint of optimism in his voice. Maybe she’s learned to control herself."
Thorn gave him a side glance, skeptical. "You actually believe that?"
Elias shrugged. "Why not? People change."
Thorn snorted. "Lilith Underwood doesn’t change. She adapts. And adaptation doesn’t mean she’s lost her temper. It just means she’s biding her time."
Elias exhaled through his nose. "So, what, you think she’ll eventually snap?"
"Oh, I know she will." Thorn said with the certainty of a man who knew the sun would rise. "It’s not a matter of if. It’s a matter of when."
Elias shook his head. "I think you’re wrong. She’s growing."
"Are you sure?" Thorn smirked. "Then let’s make it interesting. A bet."
Elias hesitated, narrowing his eyes. "A bet?"
"Yeah. I say she causes some kind of trouble before we leave the capital. You say she behaves. Or are you scared of putting your money where your mouth is?"
Elias sighed, already regretting the direction this conversation was taking. "You really want to gamble on Lilith’s restraint?"
Thorn grinned, glancing around again. "It makes it more fun."
Elias groaned but after a long pause, extended his hand. "Fine. But what are we betting?"
Thorn rubbed his chin, then smirked. "Loser buys drinks for a week."
Elias considered it before nodding. "Deal."
They shook on it, both men amused by the situation, but neither willing to back down from their wager.
Then, Thorn’s gaze sharpened slightly as he caught movement in the corner of his vision. His easy smile didn’t waver, but his posture shifted subtly.
Elias noticed it too. Without needing words, the two of them slowed their pace slightly, acting as if they hadn’t seen anything.
"We’re being followed." Thorn muttered under his breath.
Elias nodded once, barely moving his lips. "I counted three. Two men, one woman. All moving at different paces to avoid suspicion."
"Armed?"
"Likely. But they’re not closing in."
Thorn smirked. "Good. Means they’re not dumb."
Elias’s expression remained neutral. "Should we deal with them?"
Thorn considered it before shaking his head. "No. We’re in public. That’ll just bring attention to us."
"Let’s see what they want first. If they attack, we handle it. Until then, we keep guarding Ren and lady Lilith like nothing is wrong."
Elias exhaled slowly, rolling his shoulders. "Alright. Let’s do that."
They continued walking, keeping their usual casual pace, but now fully aware of the eyes watching them.
Something occurred to Thorn and he chuckled to himself, glancing at Elias. "You still confident in your bet?"
Elias sighed. "We’ll see."
