Fake Professor, Misunderstood As Strong-Chapter 315: Fake Professor, Misunderstood As Strong.
Capital City Delta.
The Great Hero Memorial.
While sitting on a bench, Rio sighed deeply.
'I see… so there are other transmigrators in this universe beside me… this is quite a shocking revelation…'
After Jareth's death, the 'Unknown Fragment' left his body, and it was Rio who took it.
Mark and others were not in the right mood to question him and only asked what it was, to which Rio replied that it was a very dangerous item that had once caused the death of a close friend.
Others agreed that it was better to let Rio take the 'Fragment,' and thus it ended up in Rio's possession.
Rio absorbed the fragment and received all the memories stored inside the fragment.
He learned the entire truth of the 'Sea of Miasma,' and it turned out that the fragment even made a record of Jareth's memories.
Jareth was the final part of the 'Relay Race,' and thus his memories were also recorded in the fragment.
Once Rio absorbed the fragment, he found out that Jareth was actually a transmigrator just like himself, and his main goal was leaving the sea of miasma.
'I see, so this system… it's a powerful manifestation of the power of the 'world' that helped Jareth open a possibility to me…'
'His story is really sad… sigh… I hope he lives a happy life next time…'
Jareth was talented; he managed to reach grade-1 peak, which is equivalent to S-rank in Rio's own power terms, in around two years!
Rio himself had to train for around 3 years to reach the early stages of S-rank.
If Jareth was born in the same place as Rio, he might have been able to achieve amazing heights in the future.
It was a shame that he was transmigrated into a world that was horribly suppressed by the sea of miasma and was corrupted beyond the point of salvation.
Jareth's interference in the destiny changed everything, and he saved the planet; in the final war, he did the ultimate sacrifice and saved everyone.
'I don't know if even I can do something like that…'
Rio was very powerful and very strong, but he also has those who care for him; he has people he cares for. It would be difficult for even him to sacrifice his own life.
Jareth achieved that feat, and it was commendable.
'The 'Sea of Endless Miasma'… don't think this matter is over just yet…'
Rio has seen the cruelty of the 'sea of miasma' through the memories of the fragment, and he has also received all the coordinates that Jareth had received before.
'I will have to change my focus from now on… the sea of miasma cannot be allowed to roam free in this universe… that horrible existence must be erased…'
A newfound light of determination rose in Rio's eyes as he inherited Jareth's memories and goals.
"Ah, you are here… I was looking for you…"
A calm voice brought Rio out of his world of thoughts, and he looked to his side.
Mark had made his way to Rio at some point; he walked over and stood beside Rio.
Three months had passed since the final battle for the survival of their world, and Mark had finally come out of his depression.
Everyone was devastated at Jareth's death, but Mark, who was closest to Jareth, was the one who was the most depressed.
It took Mark dozens of days to finally accept reality.
"I thought you were busy with the ceremony… Why are you here?"
At Rio's question, Mark sighed and replied,
"Nothing, I was just looking for you… the ceremony was about to start so I wanted to invite you over and I also wanted to talk with you…"
Hearing Mark's words, Rio got up and nodded his head.
"Okay, let's talk while walking, or we will get late…"
The two young men walked side by side through the memorial as they talked.
"First of all, I wanted to thank you for everything you have done for us… you saved our planet and even went as far as helping in post-war work…"
"I am thanking you on behalf of everyone; thanks to you, my father, my mother, Risa, Azul and everyone else are alive…"
"I am grateful for that. I have decided to follow Professor Jareth's words. I cannot stay depressed all the time. he hoped for me and everyone else to be happy…"
All the immaturity was gone from Mark's face; after fighting in the final war, he had matured and had become a dependable man whom others could rely on.
"I have decided to become a strong mage; once I am strong, I will become the protector of this planet…"
Rio had established a permanent connection for their planet to his own home planet; there was no longer a need to worry about safety and protection.
But Mark did not want to let Jareth's words go to waste.
He wanted to become a protector, a person who everyone would admire, and thus he was ready to commit himself to the task.
"Well, caring about your duty and all is good. But don't forget that your teacher also said to marry your girlfriend… if you stay too busy on work, your own family will not like you…"
"So, make sure to find a proper work-life balance…"
Mark nodded his head and committed Rio's advice to the heart.
The two of them chatted about various things; they talked about how well the entire planet was recovering after Rio dealt with all the miasma and how other nations, like the Elven nation, had also started to recover from the damage.
The elven queen and princess had survived with their trusted knight.
There were hundreds of thousands of casualties, but compared to the worst-case scenario of world destruction, this was a much better option.
While talking, the two young men reached a massive open ground.
There were many tablets carved out in the massive garden, and on those tables were the names of the brave wizards and knights who sacrificed themselves to save this world.
All the soldiers and heroes who died in the final war had their names carved into these tablets.
Most of their bodies were lost and damaged beyond salvation by mana, so it was impossible to bury them and carve out tombs for them.
Thus, their names were carved on these tablets that will immortalize their names for several centuries!
The previous hero memorial was completely destroyed in the final war, and this one was a newly built one.
Mark and Rio walked over to the central area and stopped in front of a massive statue.
The statue was of none other than Jareth himself.
In the statue, Jareth had a grimoire floating above one of his hands, and the other one was pointing towards the sky as if he was saying that even if the sky fell, he would support it himself and save the world.
Jareth's body was completely destroyed; it was impossible to make a tomb for him. Thus, a statue was carved out in his memory from the remnants of the materials of the 'Wormhole Opening Device.'
The metals that were used in his statue were all rare ones that were once used to save this world!
Jareth name and deeds were carved out on the pedestal below his statue.
"You are also here Mark?"
As Rio and Mark reached the statue, Risa and Azul also walked over.
Risa was holding a flower basket in her hand; she bent down and offered them at the statue's feet.
All four of them then prayed together for Jareth to get happiness in his next life.
Rio smiled as he looked at Jareth statue and thought to himself.
'You really were unique Jareth… despite being a 'fake professor,' you saved the entire world… you had quite an adventurous life.'
'You were just trying to escape and everyone misunderstood that you were strong and were trying to summon me…'
Jareth's actions were always misunderstood by everyone, and even until the end, he was still as mysterious and awesome as always.
Future generations will read the history of the final war and continue to misunderstand that Jareth was so strong that he knew how to summon a powerful being from the outside world for help.
Rio smirked and muttered to himself,
"A 'Fake Professor, Misunderstood As strong'…"
