Falling For My Accidental CEO Husband-Chapter 240: Help Me?
Chapter 240: Help Me?
"Wow, you’re in a bad mood because of your brother? I thought maybe you had a breakup or something," Kim said, leaning back in her chair.
Ella shook her head and took a sip of her coffee. "No, it’s not that. With all the family drama going on, I don’t even have time to think about dating. I did like someone once, but it turns out he wasn’t interested in me. So, I don’t think I have it in me to chase anyone."
Kim frowned and tilted her head thoughtfully. "I think your brother loves you, though. No matter how much this girl might have a hold on him, he’ll eventually listen to you over her. But... there’s another option you might not have thought about."
Ella raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"Well," Kim said, leaning forward, "why not introduce your brother to someone else? You mentioned that he’s waiting for this girl to propose because that’s what she wants, but let’s be honest—most men don’t like waiting around like that. If he’s stuck in limbo with her, why not introduce him to one of your friends? Someone beautiful, charming, and fun. You never know; he might end up being attracted to her instead."
Ella stared at her, completely taken aback. "Are you saying what I think you’re saying?"
Kim nodded. "Exactly. Men love feeling like they’re being fought over. If there’s another woman showing genuine interest in him, he might start to lose interest in the one who’s keeping him waiting. And if that attraction grows into something serious, he might even move on entirely. Plus, if his new girlfriend is your friend, the two of you could easily work together to convince him to bring your father back into the picture."
Ella frowned, her brows knitting together as she stared down at the coffee swirling in her cup. She let out a soft sigh, clearly conflicted. "But isn’t that... wrong?" she asked hesitantly, her voice tinged with doubt. "Trying to get him interested in someone else? It feels like I’d be manipulating the situation. Like I’m... interfering too much in his personal life."
Kim leaned back in her chair, shaking her head with an easy confidence that only made Ella feel more unsure. "Wrong? Not at all. You’re not forcing him to do anything," Kim said with a shrug, her tone calm and persuasive. "You’re just introducing him to someone new, someone who might catch his attention. He’s not tied down, Ella. He’s not married or anything, so there’s nothing complicated about it. If he decides to break up with this girl, that’s his choice—not yours."
Ella’s frown deepened as she mulled over Kim’s words. She bit her lip and looked up, her uncertainty clear in her eyes. "I don’t know... all my friends are too young for him," she said after a moment, shaking her head slightly. "He wouldn’t even give them a second glance, let alone consider dating them. It just feels... impossible."
Kim sighed, forcing herself to keep her expression neutral even as a flicker of annoyance crossed her mind. This girl really has no idea, does she? She pressed her lips together for a moment, her patience thinning. Wasn’t it obvious? Kim was sitting right here—older, stunning, and perfectly capable of turning any man’s head, especially Aiden Hawk’s. Yet Ella, with all her oblivious innocence, seemed completely blind to the most obvious solution.
"Well," Kim said after a pause, carefully keeping her voice light and uninterested, "maybe you’re overthinking it. You might be surprised at what catches his eye. Age isn’t always a dealbreaker, you know. It’s more about meeting someone who understands him, someone who can connect with him on a deeper level."
Ella tilted her head, her frown softening into a look of mild curiosity, though the uncertainty hadn’t left her face. "I guess that’s true," she admitted, but her tone was hesitant. "Still, I wouldn’t even know who to ask. And what if he figures out what I’m trying to do? What if he gets mad at me for interfering? I’d be risking a lot."
Kim resisted the urge to roll her eyes, instead offering a patient smile. She leaned forward slightly, resting her elbows on the table as she looked Ella directly in the eyes. "You’re not risking anything," she said firmly, her voice steady. "If he likes her, great. If he doesn’t, no harm done. But you’ll never know unless you try. Sometimes the best solutions are the ones sitting right under our noses."
Ella nodded slowly, but the conflict was still etched on her face. She stirred her coffee absentmindedly, her lips pressing into a thin line as she weighed Kim’s words. Kim, meanwhile, kept her expression calm and encouraging, though inside she was already planning. It was time to end this topic for now.
Let Ella think that introducing her to Aiden was her plan.
Kim glanced at her watch, feigning surprise. "Oh wow, look at the time. I have to get going. I promised to meet someone at the boutique before it closes," she said, her tone casual but deliberate. She stood up and picked up her bag, slinging it over her shoulder. "But, you know, Ella, sometimes the best ideas come when you stop overthinking and just... let things happen." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Ella looked up at her, her brows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean by that?"
"Just that. Stop thinking things. Okay? Maybe you’ll have another idea for this or think of someone. Anyway, good luck! If you ever need any help, you know where to find me now. I’m easy to talk to. Also, it was lovely meeting you."
Ella smiled at her new friend and thanked her,"It was amazing meeting you as well. It feels as if we’ve known each other forever."
Ella watched her leave, her mind churning with thoughts. Kim’s words lingered, echoing in her head like a puzzle she couldn’t quite solve. She bit her lip, staring into her now lukewarm coffee.as an idea took root in her head.
