Falling in Love With My Arranged-Marriage Husband-Chapter 307 - 281 Fu Vinegar Jar (Part 1)
Chapter 307: Chapter 281 Fu Vinegar Jar (Part 1)
In the living room, Ji Hanwen and Lin Jue were chatting when they heard noises and looked over one by one. Ji Sang was in a disheveled state that Ji Hanwen had hardly ever seen; if not for the happy expression on her face, he would have thought something had happened.
Seeing the surprise on the faces of Ji Hanwen and Lin Jue, Ji Sang realized she had behaved somewhat improperly.
Usually, when she waited at home for Fu Yisi to return from work, she would rush to the door to greet him upon hearing any noise. She had long been accustomed to being the first person Fu Yisi saw when he came home.
Today, however, she had forgotten there were guests at home.
Ji Sang smiled apologetically and then headed straight for the door. Only then did Ji Hanwen react,
"Is Xiao Fu back?"
He also stood up and looked outside, indeed, there was a car stopped in front of the yard.
Just as Ji Sang opened the door, Fu Yisi had just arrived at the entrance.
Although it wasn’t very cold now, the house was still a bit heated, so Ji Sang was only wearing a single layer of clothing. Seeing this, Fu Yisi frowned and quickly spoke.
"Don’t come out."
It was very cold outside.
The man stepped up in front of Ji Sang, intending to grasp her hand that she stretched out but, remembering his hands were still cold, he merely tapped her waist lightly.
"Let’s go inside."
Ji Hanwen really liked his son-in-law and stood up to greet him, eager to introduce Fu Yisi and Lin Jue to each other.
Ji Sang hurriedly poured a cup of hot tea for Fu Yisi to warm up.
"Xiao Fu, this is Lin Jue, whom I mentioned to you before."
From the moment Ji Sang rushed down the stairs, Lin Jue had been somewhat excited to meet the future heir of the Fu Family, a person often discussed in their circle lately. They were speculating whether the matters with Junlin Hotel were a sign of him taking over the Fu Family’s responsibilities.
Indeed, Junlin had undergone sudden changes two years ago which he had noticed, and even had someone investigate, but since Junlin was not a chain hotel enterprise, tracing the core ownership was somewhat difficult.
Not to mention, Fu Yisi had employed some financial maneuvers, making it hard for investigations to lead to him.
This time, he had chosen to expose himself.
Fu Yisi had rushed here from the hospital, still with a faint smell of disinfectant on him. Dressed in a gray windbreaker, bringing the chill from outside, he looked even more like a typically detached noble son.
A truly successful person raised in a wealthy family.
They have the confidence, accustomed to seeing all kinds of beauty, receiving top-notch education and upbringing, having encountered many powerful and wealthy individuals. Therefore, their features often carry a sense of detachment and aloofness.
Because in his eyes, not everyone is fit to be included in his circle.
Lin Jue came from a wealthy family, otherwise, he wouldn’t have had the means to study abroad. But he knew his family was no match for a family like Fu Yisi’s.
He has been behind since the start and might spend his whole life never reaching such heights.
Lin Jue did well for himself, using his own capabilities to get close to this circle’s door, but he also knew he was just on the doorstep.
He was just a professional manager, and elevating his own family to a higher class would be difficult.
Thinking this through, seeing the lack of fluctuation in Fu Yisi’s gaze when he looked over wasn’t surprising at all.
The depth of the Fu Family was unimaginable for him, moreover, this future heir of the Fu Family was not simple.
People who don’t show their true strength are hard to comprehend, and such individuals often possess superior and ruthless methods.
Lin Jue greeted him without self-deprecation or arrogance; he knew that showing any weakness was a lost chance for deeper association with such people.
Fu Yisi’s attitude wasn’t as indifferent as Lin Jue had imagined, perhaps because of the Ji Family.
Why would he think that?
Because when Fu Yisi looked towards Ji Sang, the tenderness in his eyes was exactly what Lin Jue caught a glimpse of.
Fu Yisi took the initiative to shake hands, and after a brief moment, they separated.
However, a thought suddenly popped into Lin Jue’s mind.
Now, these hands skilled in holding a scalpel to save lives, what kind of waves will they stir up when entering the business world, where the surface shows no blood but hides a deep crimson reality?
He was somewhat looking forward to it, that businessman Fu Yisi.
When Ji Hanwen saw the simple exchange between the two after their handshake, he knew Lin Jue had caught Fu Yisi’s eye.
"Let’s talk while we eat. Lin, today’s meal was personally prepared by Ah Shang, and her cooking skills are really impressive."
Whenever Ji Hanwen mentioned Ji Sang, the pride in his eyes was unmistakable.
"It’s an honor."
As Aunt Li served the dishes, Fu Yisi looked towards Ji Sang and raised an eyebrow.
Silently asking, what’s with those two spicy dishes?
Ji Sang felt somewhat guilty and averted her gaze, avoiding his stare.
Ji Hanwen knew that Ji Sang liked to eat spicy food, but she usually considered their preferences and rarely had it at home.
"Lin, does your hometown really enjoy eating spicy food?"
Lin Jue nodded.
"Indeed, there are always spicy dishes on the table every day."
That’s why he was pleasantly surprised to see these two spicy dishes at their usually non-spicy family table.
Hearing this, Ji Sang quickly pushed those two dishes in front of him.
Partly to properly entertain Lin Jue, and partly to keep them at a distance, so she would eat less of them.
But Ji Sang was really too tempted.
Her cooking skills were excellent, tailored to her taste, and these two dishes, not having had them for a while, placing them in front of Lin Jue just didn’t solve the root problem.
Ji Sang’s gaze still lingered on those dishes, and she would reach out with her chopsticks whenever Fu Yisi got involved in their conversation.
This back and forth motion naturally drew attention, and seeing this, Lin Jue pushed both dishes towards Ji Sang.
Ji Sang was startled for a moment, then looked up to meet Lin Jue’s eyes.
The latter smiled at her, causing Ji Sang to feel a bit embarrassed.
They were chatting and hadn’t yet tasted the dishes, but she had already eaten several bites.
Ji Sang retracted her hand, saying,
"Please, try it."
Fu Yisi, highly observant of Ji Sang’s behavior, naturally noticed Lin Jue’s actions and the brief exchange of glances between the two.
Fu Yisi: ....
The man’s lips pursed tightly, his eyes slightly lowered, making his emotions unclear.
Lin Jue picked up a piece of boiled meat, tasted it, and his eyes lit up.
"It’s very delicious, and the flavor is authentic."
"Really?!"
Compared to photography, Ji Sang was even more fond of being praised for her cooking skills.
"I learned it from a chef when I went to Sichuan, not sure how much I managed to learn."
Lin Jue took another bite and said with a smile,
"To me, it’s perfect."
Fu Yisi: ...
