Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God-Chapter 1239 - 679 Natural Fury_3
Chapter 1239: Chapter 679 Natural Fury_3
"Natural Fury, this is Natural Fury. The King’s Forest is angry. It’s angry at our greed, at our disregard for its pain. Don’t try to resist; it will only provoke further wrath upon yourself. Drop your weapons, give up resistance, offer your prayers to it, show it your past. Those pure souls will not be harmed, and those sinful ones, if they sincerely repent, the merciful nature will surely give them a chance for compensation."
"I control my own fate, not heaven. They are just a group of mindless animals and plants, what’s there to fear? If they dare come, I’ll show them just how sharp my hunting bow is... ah... the trees are moving, the trees are moving... ah... spare my life... ah..."
"Don’t come any closer, don’t come any closer, I repent, I atone... ah... why doesn’t it work? You lied to me... ah..."
"Foolish, this is Natural Fury. The entire King’s Forest, all its creatures are enraged. Who said there are only beasts here? There are also Fae Race and natural life, which previously chose not to reveal themselves before you, doesn’t mean they don’t exist... Your repentance, just a slogan for pleading for your life, and not truly heartfelt, of course, it doesn’t work. You need to sincerely, from within your heart, pray and let nature feel your repentance, otherwise no one can save you, because the entire forest is in fury. This is not just happening in our village, but in all villages located within the King’s Forest."
"Merciful earth, merciful forest, please forgive my past ignorance. From today, I will lay down my hunting bow and the axe, stop hunting, stop cutting down trees. I promise to plant one new sapling every day, no, three each day. I will dedicate the remainder of my life to serving the forest and atoning for my past sins."
"Effective, this method actually works, the forest is willing to give us a chance to atone..."
The entire King’s Forest, both the wise and the mindless, sprang into action. Not only the hunters like Forest Bear, Lin Hu, and Forest Panther, but also the usual prey like wild boars, elk, wild rabbits, squirrels, including birds such as crows, sparrows, owls, and insects like ants, bees, all united to launch a comprehensive retaliation against those enemies of the forest.
This counterattack was very targeted, placing Meira’s Followers at the forefront, followed by those who recklessly destroyed the forest, hunted for sport, and cut down trees for profit.
Meira’s Followers, who had once depended on the dense forest cover of King’s Forest for shelter, suddenly found that there were no more hiding places in this world for them, surrounded by endless foes.
The former hunters, at this very moment, became desperate prey.
Soon they realized, their enemies were not only animals, the plants as well displayed similar aggression. While running, suddenly a vine would swing and trip them, or a rope would drop down, forming a natural noose and hang them in mid-air.
If it were once or twice, it could be described as a coincidence, but frequent occurrences could not simply be explained away as coincidences.
It’s unknown whether this was the plants acting on their own or those Fae Race hidden in shadows. Or perhaps, these plants were no longer mere plants but perhaps Awakened Plants like Treants.
No matter which kind, these sudden traps appeared highly secretive, not particularly lethal, but the disturbances were severe, many refugees who stumbled never got a chance to get back up, directly torn apart by the surging forest animals.
The entire King’s Forest was enveloped in furious, avenging Law. Those slain Meira’s Followers had no chance to receive Judgment and proceed to Meira’s God Kingdom hunting grounds; they were trapped in this land, subjected to a new round of punishment.
Many were buried under the largest nearby trees, feeling their bodies slowly decay, then absorbed bit by bit by the trees, including their Soul Consciousness, now bound within the tree as a Tree Demon.
The nature of Tree Demons is similar to Tree Spirits, both binding a soul to a tree forever, yet there’s a fundamental difference.
Tree Spirits, although symbiotic with their host trees, maintain some autonomy and can even alter their host. The trees they inhabit are more like homes, a place for their soul consciousness, even gaining a series of Special Abilities from this transition.
For Tree Demons, however, the tree they are in is their prison. Breaking this prison does not liberate them but instead kills them outright, their soul essence having completely fused with the tree. They must fight to protect this tree’s safety, yet they can never leave more than a hundred meters from this tree.
It is said the Tree Spirit race originated this way, initially those Fae Race who desecrated the forest volunteered to transform into this form to atone by protecting the forest. Some, after completing their atonement, returned to the Fae Race, while others adapted to this life, continuing to coexist with the trees. Their descendants also inherited this trait, giving rise to the Tree Spirit race.
Komeer Kingdom’s villages within the King’s Forest naturally could not escape this fate; Druids and Rangers became natural messengers, immediately spreading the best ways to avoid disaster to the villagers.
