Fated: The Alpha's Unwanted Luna-Chapter 160: A Meeting with the Alpha
"You brought this upon yourself by disrespecting our future Luna. And though I want to be sorry to inform you that you are no longer considered part of the important guests, I am not. Take their things to their new rooms." Matt said to the remaining two warriors at his side, and Leni’s eyes went wide. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"What do you mean we are no longer part of the important guests? We were given the special golden card!" She exclaimed as her belongings were being roughly tossed out of the beautiful penthouse that had been assigned to her and Evan. This was completely unacceptable and utterly disrespectful!
Matt didn’t even blink as Leni began to grow hysterical, trying to stop the men from carrying her luggage, and he turned calmly to Beta Eliot and said, "You are summoned for a meeting with the supreme Alpha in his office. Come with me."
Beta Eliot exchanged a look with the panicking Leni before turning back to find that Matt had already turned and begun walking away. The supreme Alpha wanted to see him? What for? He would have assumed it was regarding the meeting they had requested, but Matt had just had their Alpha dragged off to be imprisoned, so what could he possibly want from him?
"Whatever it is, make sure you get him to release my Evan," Leni whispered urgently as he walked past her, and Beta Eliot gave her a tight nod.
Beta Eliot followed Matt into the large, elegantly decorated office of the supreme Alpha, and the moment they stepped inside, the atmosphere became frigid and cold, like walking into a winter landscape with a biting chill that made one want to shiver. Just how powerful was the supreme Alpha’s energy?
Inside the office, the supreme Alpha was buttoning up his shirt, his long, slender fingers moving swiftly down the buttons, but when he raised his eyes toward them, Beta Eliot felt the urge to crawl beneath the floor, for he had never in his life stared into eyes so cold and hard that they looked capable of carving out a man’s very soul. His expression appeared to have been carved from stone itself, and his lips were pressed into a tight, deeply displeased line that made Beta Eliot swallow hard.
"Here is the Beta of Moonwillow, supreme Alpha," Matt informed, and Sebastian, who had been brooding in barely contained anger, dismissed him with a wave of his hand and walked around his desk to come and stand directly before the man who was visibly trembling.
"T-to what do I owe this summon, supreme Alpha?" Beta Eliot forced himself to say as the Alpha stared him down, standing two heads taller than he was on powerful, unhurried legs.
"I won’t beat around the bush with you, Eliot. I want answers to some questions, and if you waste my time with anything unnecessary, you will find yourself in the same place as your Alpha, along with your entire family." Sebastian said, tucking his hands into his pockets and clenching his fingers there to rein in the temper that refused to settle.
He had stayed with Viola until she was breathing steadily and sleeping through the pain that had come from being intimate with him because of Evan’s mark. It had taken every ounce of will inside Sebastian to restrain himself from storming out and killing Evan right then and there, for his death would free Viola from the mark entirely. But killing him would bring nothing but unnecessary war between the packs, and so he had held himself back.
Unable to sleep beside her while so deeply aroused and wound tight with the thoughts circling his mind, Sebastian had done the most sensible thing he could manage, he had eased himself off the bed, walked around to her side, adjusted her blanket carefully over her entire body since she got cold so easily, pressed a quiet kiss to her forehead, and whispered a soft goodnight to her sleeping form before leaving her to rest.
Sebastian had never received such a reaction from anyone after speaking about how he had lost his parents, not that he had ever told anyone himself before now, but Viola’s response and her determination to make him feel better, even while putting herself through pain to do it, had moved something deeply inside him and made him all the more possessive over her.
Given how hot and cold she always ran with him, he had been genuinely surprised that she had put herself through pain just to give him a moment of intimacy and take his mind away from his past.
That little woman of his, the more she did things in her own quiet, unpredictable way, the more Sebastian wanted to keep her safe and protected, and the more he allowed his bond to grow without fighting it. But now he needed to focus on uncovering her background and where she had originally come from before the orphanage, and to find a way to locate her twin.
"Wh-what do you want to know, supreme Alpha?" Beta Eliot questioned cautiously, folding his hands in front of him like a schoolboy standing before his teacher.
"About Viola. Everything about her." Sebastian said, walking past Eliot to lean against the wall with his arms folded across his chest.
Beta Eliot subtly gritted his teeth before rejoicing internally, an opportunity to make the supreme Alpha see the bitch for who she truly was had just presented itself.
"You mean my daughter," Eliot said with a theatrical heavy sigh. "What can I say? My wife and I adopted her years ago and gave her a home in our pack. We clothed and—"
"I am not interested in an account of what you have done for my future wife. Where did you adopt her?" Sebastian demanded, his brows pulling together sharply.
Eliot laughed nervously before his expression turned serious.
"Ah, we adopted her from a small pack called Nightshade. But I want you to know that the girl comes from a very troubled place, I was told her parents were notorious rogues. However, I never let those words stop me and adopted her out of the goodness of my heart. It was only years later that I began to see her bad side. She is a very dangerous person when angered and she has a very twisted mind and heart. Though I know she won the right to be your Luna, I would like to warn you about—"
"Delta!" Sebastian called, and immediately a guard stepped in and bowed.
"Yes, supreme Alpha?"
"Take this man away and lock him up with his Alpha. Make sure he receives the same kind of treatment his Alpha received." He gave the order with complete nonchalance, and Eliot’s eyes went wide and fearful.
"Supreme Alpha_"
He wasn’t even given the chance to open his mouth and plead before he was seized and dragged away by the powerful guard. He had been warned not to say anything negative about Viola, and yet he had gone ahead and opened his mouth to badmouth her anyway. That was a crime in itself, for Sebastian would not tolerate disrespect toward his woman, nor would he stand by and allow a man like that to speak about her past in such a degrading way.
Once the man had been removed, Sebastian remained where he stood. "Nightshade Pack..." He muttered quietly to himself.
It was the only pack that wasn’t under his authority, nor did it depend on Silver for anything, situated so far from the rest of the werewolf packs that no one ever traveled that way. Crimes and all manner of things happened there without consequence, as their Alpha was nothing but a thug himself, from everything Sebastian had heard.
No wonder he had never heard of an orphanage that did horrible things to its children, it turned out it was buried deep in a pack far outside his territory.
Now that he knew the location, Sebastian thought to himself, he needed to find the time after the wedding to go there himself, look into things, and dig further into Viola’s history to find her twin and uncover once and for all whether she was the one or not. At this point, he had to know, because if she wasn’t, then every moment he spent allowing himself to grow more and more attached to her was nothing but him digging her grave with his own hands...
