FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 230: It’s Over
Amelia didn't know for how long she slept or what time it was when she finally opened her eyes. But the sight of some team of doctors and nurses leaving the room told her that, it was already daybreak.
Suppressing a yawn that almost escaped her mouth, she pushed herself up into a sitting position, rubbing her bleary eyes.
"Good morning, sweetheart." Judith smiled, walking up to her and hugging her briefly.
"Good morning Aunt Judy. What time is it?"
"11:00 AM"
Amelia's eyes widened. "I slept that long." She asked standing up, her gaze travelling to her father who was wide awake and staring amusingly at her. She observed the way his bed head had been adjusted to a comfortable angle that made it easy for him to eat and drink comfortably.
"That's because you were very tired. But I'm happy you did." The senator said, beaming.
"Good morning Daddy." Amelia made her over to her father's bedside and hugged him, before sitting beside him.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better and stronger than yesterday." The senator said convincingly, beaming. "How about you?"
"Well rested." Amelia smiled sweetly, stroking her father's chin. "Have you eaten anything?"
"Your auntie has already made sure of that."
Amelia glanced in her aunt's direction who was busy, sorting out the senator's clothes that his driver brought earlier.
"Thanks, Aunt Judy."
"You're welcome, darling. Why don't you go and freshen up so that you can eat something? I'm sure you have some medications to take."
"I do." Amelia nodded.
"Then you should do that. I heard the doctor was supposed to discharge you today." The senator noted.
"Yes. Let me go and freshen up. I'll be right back in less than an hour." Amelia kissed her father on the cheek before standing up from his bedside.
"Take your time darling. I'm not going anywhere." The senator teased and Amelia chuckled before leaving the room.
However, when Amelia stepped out of her father's room and shut the door behind her, the sight of her husband sitting on one of the hallway benches, made her initial smile evaporate into thin air.
A consuming fire ignited in her eyes as she met Blaze's soft and loving gaze. It made anger sizzle out of her, causing both her fists to clench and her eyes to narrow.
Blaze, who had been waiting an eternity for his wife to come out of that room for the last eight hours without catching a glimpse of sleep, rose to his feet. He slowly approached her, his gaze subtle and apologetic.
"What are you doing here?" Amelia demanded, her voice laced with venom. "To finish what you started?"
"No my love, I.."
"Don't... you ever call me that again." Amelia spat out, her eyes blazing with raw fire. "You have made it clear to me by your actions that I mean nothing to you. Well, guess what, the feeling is now mutual. You mean nothing to me. So you can get lost for all I care."
Blaze shuddered, his mouth still hanging open from his uncompleted statement. He couldn't believe the words coming out of Amelia's mouth neither could he accept them.
"You don't mean that. You are angry and I deserve your anger for what I did. But please, give me one more chance to correct my mistake."

"That will only happen in your dreams because, this..."Amelia pointed between herself and Blaze. "... And every other thing going on between us is over from the moment you decided to lay your hands on my father."
"Amelia, it was a mistake."
"And so was my decision to get involved with you."
"You can't be serious." Blaze shook his head in denial. "You don't mean it."
"Watch me!" Amelia stormed past him when Blaze quickly cut her by the wrist. But she jerked her hand away and gave him a fierce slap across his face.
The reverberating sound of the slap resounded in the hallway, attracting the attention of some nurses who were passing by. But none of them stood to watch due to Pascal's scary glares.
"Don't you ever in your miserable life touch me again with those filthy hands," Amelia yelled in his face, her sharp eyes spitting fire.
Ignoring his trampled pride and the humiliation Amelia was putting him through Blaze, didn't lose his temper as he kept pleading.
"If hitting me will atone for my mistake then please do it again and again because I won't lose you. I love you so much."
Pascal who was standing not too far away from the couple was stunned by the exchange between them. He was shocked at the way his boss was allowing the madam to manhandle him in public. It was as though they had suddenly switched personalities with Amelia being the fearless dictator and Blaze the obedient puppy.
'If this is what it means to be married, I rather stay single.' Pascal mused under his breath feeling sorry for his boss.
Amelia on the other hand was dumbfounded by Blaze's reaction. She was expecting him to lose his temper and do something stupid like he had done in the past. But to her surprise, he was acting the opposite even with people passing by and watching him.
'Did he hit his head on a rock or something?' Amelia shook this feeling away pretending not to be affected by it. She wasn't going to give him the chance to manipulate her thoughts in his favour again, not after he had shown her his true colour.
"I can see you've lost your mind. But get this straight, Mr Anderson, I don't need you coming down here pretending like you care because you don't. I don't want to see your face because your presence reminds me of the mistakes I've made in my life. I've had it with men hurting me. Feel free to do whatever you like because I'm done with you. Now get out of my way, I need to use the restroom."
Blaze's gaze faltered. He held her angry gaze for a few seconds, searching for something to hold on to. But all he saw was bitterness and extreme anger.
However, in the midst of that raging storm was a glimmer of hope that all was not lost. He held on tightly to that string of hope as he moved aside, letting her pass through.
Amelia, who was practically holding her emotions together, hurried away and disappeared into her room slamming the door shut behind her.
Blaze knew she would be crying behind those doors. He wished he could go in there and comfort her. He thought about leaving as she had requested. But when he recalled Judith's advice, he sat back on the bench, deciding to wait until Eugene returned.
