FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 229: A Caring Daughter
After sitting for more than two hours, watching her father sleep peacefully, fatigue and weariness crept into Amelia's body forcing her to take a nap. She rested her head on the edge of her father's bedside and closed her eyes as the beeping heart rate monitor sang her a rhythmic lullaby.
Judith on the other hand decided to lie down on the plush couch in the room after failing to convince Amelia to sleep in the same spot.
The room remained peaceful for a few more hours with both women sound asleep until Amelia felt someone's hands tenderly stroking her hair. She lifted her sleepy face up to see who it was, a bewitching smile stretching across her lips when she met her dad's loving gaze.
"Daddy, you are awake." Amelia slowly stood up, pushing her chair backwards, the sound of the chair scraping on the tiled floor jolting Judith out of her slumber.
"Yes. What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be on your bed resting?" The Senator queried in a weak and tired voice.
However, instead of responding to her dad's question, Amelia started crying afresh while apologizing to her father.
"Dad I am so sorry for everything."
"Don't say that sweetheart. None of these is your fault." The Senator spoke weakly, his voice dry and raspy but laced with tenderness, as he squeezed his daughter's hand that was holding his.
"On the contrary, it's my fault." Amelia wiped her tears with the back of her hand as she leaned down and kissed her father on the forehead. "None of this would have happened if I hadn't gotten involved with that insane young man. None of this would have happened if I hadn't asked you to speak with him. I shouldn't have gotten you involved in my affairs. I didn't figure Blaze to be so heartless to the point of hurting you."
"But it was an accident." The Senator said, recalling how Blaze had tried to help him stand up after the fall.
"No..." Amelia shook her head. "It was intentional and I will never forgive him for this."
Judith came from behind, her hand reaching for Amelia's shoulders to console her.
"Amy, you have to stop hurting yourself over this matter. Please, you need to consider your health and that of your precious child growing in your womb."
"Exactly." The senator concurred with Judith's statement, nodding his head. When he tried to push himself up into a sitting position thinking the injury had been taken care of, he let out a deep groan that shook Amelia to the bones.
"Don't do that, Daddy," Amelia said in a slightly jittery voice while helping her father lie back down with the help of her aunt.
"You can't sit up like that. You are still in the healing process. I already spoke with the doctor and he said you had a little fracture around your hip joint and considering the surgery they did years back it will take almost a week before you start sitting normally."
"A week!" The Senator's forehead furrowed. "But we have an urgent meeting with the Senate foreign relations committee by next Tuesday. I can't miss..."
The senator choked on his saliva and started coughing.
"Take it easy, daddy." Amelia signalled her aunt to help her get water.
When Amelia got the bottle of water with a straw in it, she brought it close to her dad's lips and said, "Drink this."
With tears in his eyes from the choking cough, the senator nodded and sipped the water through the straw, while Amelia lifted his head a little supporting it with a pillow.
"No more talking," Amelia said sternly, blinking her lashes to push back her tears.
"But..."
"No but, either." Amelia gave the bottle of water back to her aunt, before focusing on her dad.

"We will talk about your meeting later and you do not have to be present physically to partake in that meeting. Rest for now. The doctor will check on you in the morning."
The Senator let out a deep sigh.
"You need to rest too, my darling. You look really stressed."
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I'll sit beside your bed and rest my head on it, like before."
"That is not good enough." The senator shook his head. "You need to rest your back."
"Why don't you sleep on that couch?" Judith brought up her earlier suggestion again. "It's as comfy as a bed. You'll also be close to your father since you insist on staying in the same room with him."
"I'm okay..."
"Just do it for me, please..." The senator begged.
"What about you, Aunt Judith? Where will you lie down if I take your resting spot."
"Don't worry about me. A chair is fine. Moreover, I'm not the one carrying a developing precious child in her womb. You and your baby need rest."
"Fine!" Amelia rolled her eyes in frustration. "I'll rest. Now close your eyes Daddy and sleep. If you need anything, I'm just a call away."
"I love you so much, my precious angel." The senator's eyes lit up with immense love.
"I love you too, Daddy." Amelia pressed her lips on her father's forehead before reluctantly leaving his bedside.
When Blaze returned to check on his wife after first checking on his mother, it was already 3:00 AM. He met Eugene sleeping on one of the hallway benches in a seated position while Pascal remained vigilant.
After encouraging his cousin to return home and rest properly, Blaze took Eugene's spot and kept watch with Pascal.

Following a nighttime of immense pleasure with her married lover who took her through uncharted waters of sexual fantasies, Tina rose early and quickly cleaned up. She changed into an elegant denim jumpsuit that perfectly accentuated her curves, pairing it with a high-heeled sandal.
Hiding her hair under a jet black long curly wig, she picked up all her stuff and left the suite, leaving behind her snoring lover sprawled on the messy bed, with a brief note on the nightstand.
At the hotel lobby receptionist desk, Tina made payment for all her hotel expenses using her lover's credit card.
Afterwards, she used the same credit card to pay the car rental service establishment asking them to pick up their vehicle at the hotel.
Next, she strolled off to a boutique close to the hotel and shopped extravagantly with her lover's credit card.
Satisfied with her mission and unaware of the disguised people watching her every movement, she left the boutique, holding some flashy shopping bags, and bordered a taxi home.
