FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 271: Fall Out 1
Senator Gregory barked in a suppressed voice, pulling his hand away from Amelia and abruptly standing up.
"What has come over you? How can you say such a thing about your sister and uncle? How can you sit down there and tell me that Gwen is Matt's illegitimate daughter? Is this what you said to her when you went visiting out of the blue? Do you have the slightest idea what your visit has done to her?"
Amelia was too stunned by her father's cold reaction and words to reply. His last statement about Gwen pricked her thoughts.
She knew her stepsister was a master at deception. But she couldn't help but wonder what Gwen had done to make her father react this way.
Senator Gregory took a deep breath to calm himself. He didn't want to fight with his daughter, especially in the cemetery where his wife's spirit could be lingering and watching.
Holding back his rage, he reached out to Amelia with both hands, pulling her up to her feet.
"I'm sorry, I raised my voice at you, princess. I didn't mean to. Please forgive me." Senator Gregory pulled Amelia into his arms and embraced her.
Amelia let out a sigh. "It's fine, dad. I'm not mad at you."
Senator Gregory pulled away from Amelia to look into her eyes, which were brimming with; anger, regret, and something darker.
"Amy, I perfectly understand, what Gwen and the other did was wicked. I will never support their evil ways nor will I condone such behavior. That is why I agreed for them to be punished even though it broke my heart seeing them in cuffs. Nevertheless, we cannot hold a grudge forever. Like it or not, they are still our family and we do not throw away family, Amelia. We forgive them. We love them. We give them second chances. This is all I ask."
Amelia's heart was dampened by her father's words. She opened her mouth to challenge him. But words failed her.
Slowly tilting her head sideways and staring into nothingness, Amelia asked coldly.
"What did Gwen say to you?"
Senator Gregory exhaled, his shoulder slumping as he replied.
"I didn't speak to her because I met her unconscious and looking pale."
"Unconscious!" Amelia scoffed in her heart.
'Good one, Gwen. Pretending to be unconscious to earn Dad's sympathy.'
But her father's next words took Amelia by surprise.
"I don't know whether it was forcefully or intentionally, but your sister took some abortion pill to terminate her pregnancy of six months."
Amelia snapped her head back to look at her father, doubt and astonishment lacing her expression.

"She did what?!"
"You heard me right. Your sister's just ended the life of an innocent unborn child. As we speak, the doctors are preparing to evacuate the presumably dead developing child in her womb."
For a few seconds, Amelia was rendered speechless. She couldn't believe what her father was saying.
'Gwen! Abortion pills! How!'
The pregnant woman Amelia saw some hours ago was capable of anything but abortion. If she wanted to get rid of that pregnancy, she would have done it a long time ago when it was barely a few weeks old.
Why wait until when it's twenty-four weeks?
"Are you sure of what you are saying, Dad?" Amelia asked after a while.
"If you doubt me, you can come with me tomorrow when I go to check up on her? I do not think that the chief warden and the doctor would lie about something so sensitive."
"No...but did they capture her on camera taking those pills? I don't think she would." Amelia pointed out, slightly frustrated with the current situation.
"That is exactly what the chief warden said. She told me that out of all the pregnant women in that facility, she never expected Gwen to do such a thing. She said something must have triggered her into making such a drastic decision. Something like a sudden visit from her sister."
Amelia's forehead furrowed as she could guess where her father was heading.
"So the warden thinks that my visit must have pushed Gwen into terminating her pregnancy?"
"I'm not blaming you for your sister's condition." The senator stressed, threading carefully to avoid offending Amelia. "Nevertheless we have known Gwen to be very irrational in her behaviour and I don't intend to make her life more complicated. She has suffered enough."
"So what are you saying?" Amelia was livid with rage but still tried to maintain a calm demeanour.
"In all fairness, I have no idea what you both discussed and frankly, I'm not interested in it. But what I want is for you to put aside your hatred and wild theories."
'Wild theories!' Amelia chuckled bitterly in her heart but didn't interrupt her father.
"I don't want to hear anything about Matt and Regina having an affair or Gwen not being my daughter. I have forgiven them for their past mistake and I want to start afresh. I want to be able to reunite my family. All I'm asking is for your support as my first daughter. Can you please do that for me?"
Amelia gritted her teeth as anger coursed through her veins like an angry serpent. She forced a smile and said.
"Fine. Have it your way, Dad. Do what is in your heart. I'm not going to push any further or try to stop you. You can release every one of them and bring them back to the mansion for all I care. But don't say I didn't warn you." Amelia signalled Pascal and the others to come help her pack up.
"Amelia..."
Amelia didn't give her father any chance to sweet talk her as she cut him off.
"Dad, I'm tired and I need to go back home to my mother-in-law. If you need me, you know where to find me."
Senator Gregory sighed, massaging his forehead. "Will you at least accompany me to see your sister tomorrow at the infirmary?" He asked as Amelia made moves to leave.
"She is not my sister and the answer is no." With those cold words, Amelia left her father, her heart completely broken by the unexpected turn of events.

Who would have thought that the honourable wife of a senator who once had everything on her beck and call, would one day be reduced to the worthless rejects of the society?
Sadly, this was Regina's fate.
It had been almost six months of trauma, unending nightmare, unquenchable fury, taunting remarks by other inmates and the brutality of some psychos who call themselves the boss.
If you were to take one look at Regina, you would think she had already served six years in jail.
She was looking worn out and spent, with sunken eyes and a few wrinkles on her face.
Her once smooth, glossy and sleeky hair was looking, frizzy, dry, crinkly and damaged.
Her overall appearance was listless, with a slowed pace movement and slumped shoulder, acting like someone who was on death row rather than three years imprisonment.
If it hadn't been for her sister's presence and continual encouragement, Regina would have died of loneliness and neglect.
But did Regina regret her actions?
The answer would be no. She only felt remorseful in the first few weeks hoping that by some miracle, her husband would forgive her and request for her immediate release.
However, after spending months without a single phone call from him. Her mind became bitter and poisoned. She didn't even care if Amelia went ahead and exposed her like she threatened.
Reaching out to her lover through a discreet middleman who went by the coded name, Cloud, Regina asked Matt for his help to ruin Amelia to which he willingly obliged under one condition.
Speaking through his middleman, Matt, informed Regina that things would only be done his way without question.
Without realizing the trap she was laying for herself, Regina agreed to Matt's deceitful proposition.
So when Amelia came to visit, Matt struck using one of the inmates at the prison facility.

Meanwhile, back at the Nova correctional facility, Gwen had just regained her consciousness when she learnt about the pregnancy termination.
"But I didn't take any abortion pills. How could you accuse me of such? How can you tell me my baby is dead? No, I won't take that rubbish from you."
Gwen screamed at the doctor as she tried to explain things calmly to her.
Sadly, Gwen was far from calm, as she kept ranting on and on, asking like a woman on the verge of insanity.
She was finally knocked off with some strong sedative until the following day.
When Gwen finally opened her eyes again, she was slightly relieved to see Nora seated by her bedside instead of the annoying doctor.
As memories of the previous day's exchange with the doctor flooded her thoughts, she broke down in tears, while explaining everything to her friend.
"Nora, you have got to believe me I didn't take any abortion pill except the vitamins and stress management pill the doctor gave me. Someone must have switched my drugs. I would never kill my child in cold blood."
"I'm sorry Gwen but none of this makes any sense. Who would want to switch your drugs just to harm your baby? I don't think anyone here will do such a colour skin except they are paid to do it."
"Paid!" Gwen arched her brow.
"Yes. Didn't you say everything started when your sister came here to threaten you? I have a feeling she might have paid someone to sabotage your pregnancy. If you have to blame anyone, then it should be her. She is responsible for the termination of your pregnancy and she has to pay dearly for it."
