Chapter 104 - 104. Henrietta 3

No fucking way would I ever open my mouth to some gay fucker; that sounds like a really bad idea, so I squeezed my lips shut.

He took a deep sigh.

"Are you feeling dizzy? Your wound seems not to be bleeding..." He grabbed my wrist and appeared to feel for my pulse.

I tried to fling my hand away, but he gave me an ice-cold look, and besides getting even angrier, I endured. Better than opening my mouth in front of him with deliberation.

He looked away while counting my heartbeats, his fingers lingering on my wrist, and because of the silence in the room, I calmed down considerably.

I soon found no metallic taste again in my mouth and decided for myself that I would stop fighting this childish old woman.

After a minute or so, I finally made Henry release me.

"Jeyjey had fallen on the floor. Go down and help her up before my grandmother tries to." I wanted to say please, but I just could not be polite with him.

Henry nodded, his hair obscuring his features, as he stood up and walked out of the room, just like he did yesterday.

I waited until I heard him arriving downstairs before I quietly left the room. I jumped out of the window down the corridor and slid one asphalt chunk down before climbing the next, entering the house of yesterday's fight.

Everything is secondary compared to the question as to what the fuck was wrong with these damn Henriettas.

I walked up the stairs until I reached the top floor with the hatch and the ladder.

After I climbed up, I found the rooftop empty; there clearly was dried blood on the spot her corpse had laid, but there was no dead body.

I think this was Henry, probably burying her somewhere.

Yes, what a noble thing to do, though I bet he also did so because he wanted to stop me from flipping the coin on her.

Useless worry that only surfaces when he needs it.

I crouched down and touched the dried-up blood.

Time to carry out another test.

I flipped the coin, and like always, it floated and fell, turned, and landed in my hand. I slapped it on the back of my other hand.

Gold, correct past of the little vampire. The hands covering the woman retracted, showing her eyes and ears.

A small girl wanders the street, her hair disheveled and her clothes in tatters. She holds a nearly destroyed teddy bear in her hand.

"I know." She whispers to nobody specific.

"Not yet. Why are you so hung up on him?" Her small lips form the words never intended for anyone around her to hear.

Adults in this big city ignore her as she stumbles in between them before finding a good spot and sitting down.

She reaches inside her shirt and pulls out a paper folded into a cup, before waiting with her teddy bear full of holes. She pulls up her sleeve so that people passing by could see a grisly wound on her arm.

The passerby throws a coin inside the paper cup, and the girl's eyes light up.

"Not now." She whispers.

"He is near?" She lifts her head up and looks around. Through the legs of the adults, she sees a little boy on the other side of the street, clothed luxuriously.

He looks around insecurely, as if he had lost sight of his parents, also holding a stuffed animal, but his looks new.

"It's him?" The girl confirms before stuffing the paper cup and coin inside her clothes. She runs between these so much bigger people to his side.

"Is your name Kenny?" She asks.

The boy shakes his head and looks up at her.

"Oh." The girl seems disappointed before he follows up in a small voice.

"Kennith." He says.

"Oh!" The little girl says happily and takes his hand.

"Where...where are we going?" He asks, trying to stay where he was, despite her attempts to drag him away.

"From now on, we will be together."

The boy looks around, but eventually, he lets himself be taken away.

Coming back, I took a deep breath.

What now?

I know now for sure that this Child-Henrietta is a counterpart from some new-age-city that had lived as a beggar, and not 'our' Henrietta.

I think I also know to whom little Henrietta had talked.

Our Henrietta mentioned that she suddenly could hear her own voice, the voice of her counterpart. Because of that, and because she had probably doubted her sanity, she came to me in the hope I would confirm that she was not imagining things.

This confirmation she had never received, given that I had never seen anything beyond the accident of her parents.

She seemed to have come to a conclusion on her own, however.

She lured Henrietta2 to meet up with her, probably telling her that they would exchange identities, like in some chaotic movie about identical twins.

Henrietta2 had either the evidence against Kenny2 on her because she wanted to go to the police, or she wanted to give them to Henrietta so that she could do so after they switched worlds.

For whatever reason, Henrietta struck Henrietta2 on the back of her head. I could imagine that when she had landed in another world, meeting herself, it became real, and she didn't want to part with the possibility of living with her parents again in case Henrietta2 came back. Maybe something along these lines.

Then something happened, and they landed in this little city world with the adjoining monster world.

Henrietta2 did not die; instead, Kenny2 woke up by her side and ended her.

Then some monster deer came and dragged her from the portal back to the parallel world—okay, so far, so good.

She was shredded and eaten by the hungry-hungry-deer that imitates his eating habits on legs and arms because they resemble the root it usually feeds from.

And then... then what?

Henrietta finds that her dead counterpart was still with her in the parallel world, so she drags her out, away from the forest and to the street, so that she wouldn't be dragged back by a monster?

It sounds acceptable enough for an explanation, at least for now.

Henrietta, who hears Henrietta2's voice and comes to Kenny for confirmation.

Henrietta2 also comes to Kenny2 for confirmation, but they became a couple with him abusing her.

Henrietta3, the child, hears what is probably the voice of one of her counterparts, that tells her to find a Kenny3.

Why are we entangled with each other in each of our lives?

Karma?

Henrietta is acquainted with Kenny.

Henrietta2 hates or at least fears Kenny2, and they are a couple.

Henrietta3 abducts (?) Kenny 3 at the orders (?) of one of her counterparts.

If I go to the trash world, will I find two black orbs clashing against each other, finding that they are our counterparts as well?

What the fuck does she want from me??!!?!
