Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 436. Nothing 2
Henry’s POV
I walked to the car with Kenny in my arms, unhappy with how this journey went.
We shouldn’t have done this so soon after waking up, not after the state he had been in from overusing his powers.
When we arrived at the car, I spotted a water bottle inside and wanted to get it, but the car was locked.
I turned around to the people we couldn’t see but who were around the corner at the end of the warehouse.
Should I just break the window?
Kenny chuckled and conjured up a water bottle, presenting it weakly in his hand as if he wanted me to have it.
Adorable.
"My heart just skipped a few beats." I chuckled and saw him squinting his eyes.
I walked the few steps to the warehouse and leaned against the metal wall, then slid down so he could rest a bit in my lap.
"I can drive us home," I offered.
"Nah." Kenny again raised the water, and I laughed, taking it out of his hand.
I opened it and brought it to his lips.
"I am not thirsty," I told him, and he opened his mouth obediently.
"This just makes me want to kiss you~"
He smirked while I fed him water; we should do that more often, as this was giving off such a sensual picture.
"How about you just drink and eat what I feed you in the future?"
Kenny shook his head slightly while drinking, clearly amused by my suggestion.
As heartwrenchingly cute as he was like this, I got annoyed that he wasn’t strong enough to give me a proper comeback because of the fucked-up government.
I will be present tomorrow when they come, and I will remember their faces and names for the future. How DARE they demand so damn much from him?
Kenny gave me a glance, and I lowered the water bottle before putting it on the side beside me.
"I am ready." He tried to stand up from my lap, but I hugged him tightly and took the bloody tissue out of his hand, which he still held.
"Are you sure?" I breathed in his heavenly scent while acidifying the tissue.
Everything will go in motion when we go, not only the second act as a hostage but also the wheels that needed to turn for him to become free.
What if something goes wrong?
I had promised him that I would make him a free man again, but now, so close to the goal, I got nervous.
"It’s alright. I teleport in front of my room." He again moved, and this time I pulled him up with me while supporting myself against the metal wall behind us.
"Our room. Count down again." I bit back the question of whether it was really alright now, because I could see how much he just wanted to get this over with.
Hearing Kenny counting gave me at least a little bit of preparation, but seeing him disappear before my eyes would never turn into something pleasant.
But it was still better than arriving in an empty corridor and having to wait for him.
So I gave him half a second before letting the acid spread through my veins, destroying and dissecting my body.
And then I moved like I always did during the teleportation, not while seeing or thinking, but just by feeling, so much faster than it would ever be possible with a car or a plane.
And when I was in the right place, I could feel the outer power putting me back again.
If the terror we had felt wasn’t from our future or past selves during these visions, then it should come from the same outer power.
Yet, why did I never feel this terror-stricken during teleporting?
Shouldn’t this be as forbidden for me to do, or was the impact it had on the natural laws just too insignificant?
I appeared behind Kenny and instantly hugged him.
The question of whether he would be there when I appeared was luckily answered in my favor.
He leaned against me weakly, and it was the cutest thing ever that he was relying on me so much.
This was one of the times I dared to revel in the human weakness my god showcased—and the fact that he would lean against his greatest, his only believer—yet, what waited behind the door in front of us cut the beautiful moment short.
I buried my face in his hair before lifting him up.
Red eyes looked at me, and I could see that he was just as uncomfortable with being a hostage.
"I am sorry. Are you ready?" I kissed his eyes.
It was me who insisted on going through with this, but I just wanted to be sure we completed this successfully.
Additionally, living through danger and seeing it end, especially if it was in our own room, was important so that he wouldn’t have to ask himself if someone was watching us in the future.
Kenny nodded, and I opened the door with one hand, then carried him through it.
The moment the door closed and we made our way to the mattress, I noticed a clear chill inside the room.
My muscles tightened as my body screamed for me to bring him away from the unknown danger.
I looked at Kenny’s red eyes and clenched jaw and knew already that one theory was nullified. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
It wouldn’t matter if we faced the corner beside the door.
The threat hadn’t appeared because we had met eyes with the past and future, because even now, as we looked at each other, the threat was so palpable that I felt it rattle my soul.
I bent down and slowly placed him on the mattress before I turned around with Kenny.
My heart hammered in my chest, and I nearly expected to see at least one or two dark silhouettes, but there was nothing.
Just that this ’nothing’ wasn’t bringing me any relief, just more terror.
It was no wonder Kenny fell into a paranoid fit before; nothing was more dangerous than the invisible threat.
Additionally, if we were shaken to our cores, especially with how powerful Kenny was, it wasn’t hard to guess that we were in the midst of facing something that wasn’t to be faced.
The seconds ran by while I tried my best not to hurt Kenny as my grip involuntarily tightened more and more around him.
I instinctively knew that if there was a god other than Kenny, more powerful and otherworldly than him—a thought I had never even entertained before—then we were facing their current displeasure.
How can our room, our sanctuary, be invaded by something so dangerous with both of our hands fully bound?
The pressure was intense, more than in front of the warehouse, and I went through my head for any possible solution when finally, EVENTUALLY, the pressure disappeared.
I let myself fall on top of Kenny, only now noticing that I had broken out in a cold sweat.
"Are you alright?" I asked him, hearing his heart slamming in his body as fast as mine had.
"Mhm." He hummed tiredly.
I raised my head to look into his eyes before cupping his face and stroking the sweat on his brows away with my thumbs.
"It’s okay. We are so powerful; we are already walking cheat codes. We don’t need to know the future, alright?"
He nodded; looking into those bright red eyes was so beautiful it was nearly painful.
"You are my only god, you know that, right?"
Kenny’s expression relaxed, and he smiled slightly.
"Sleep, my love, and don’t be scared; this will never happen again." I kissed his forehead, feeling his heartbeat steady, and mine did too, besides the usual and addictive flutter that was accompanying his presence.
Kenny closed his eyes and was instantly out.
I placed my lips over his before licking them.
I thought of what the doctor had told me when we came back after the fight against the zombies and the giant’s influence.
I grabbed his jaw to cautiously force it open.
I had asked the old man how to determine if a body was asleep or unconscious.
I brought my tongue over his, enticing it to respond to me.
He told me a body that is asleep responds to external stimuli, like sound or touch, while an unconscious body wouldn’t.
And maybe because we had kissed so often before, he did react to me; at the same time, I heard him moan softly.
Making my blood boil with so much ease—how cruel of you.
After a few additional seconds, I let go of him and pecked his lips softly a few times before breathing a long sigh of relief.
Luckily, he hadn’t lost consciousness...
I looked at the corner from before, sure that my senses would alert me if there were something, and just as expected, they did not.
Neither taken by the maestro nor peered upon by an unfathomable force.
...he was safe for now.
