Football System: Touchline God-Chapter 73: Tensions Rising

[> "Interesting stats there," <] Peter Walsh noted. [> "Hastings shading possession, but Rising Stars defending well." <]

[> "Both keepers having excellent games," <] Michael Harrison added. [> "Nine saves between them already." <]

Marcus Price stood over the ball at the center circle. Connor Davis was beside him.

The referee checked his watch. Both teams were ready.

Fweeeee!

The whistle blew. The game restarted.

[> "Here we go again," <] Peter Walsh said. [> "1-1 and everything to play for." <]

Marcus touched the ball to Connor. The midfielder immediately played it back to Tom Bradley.

The captain looked up, surveying the pitch. His team needed to regain control.

[> "Hastings trying to keep possession," <] Michael Harrison observed. [> "They want to dictate the tempo." <]

Bradley played the ball to Jake Thompson. The defensive midfielder was already moving forward.

Thompson found Ben Williams with a pass. The midfielder was in space.

[> "Williams with the ball," <] Peter Walsh noted. [> "Hastings building from the back." <]

Ben looked up and saw Nathan Price making a run down the right wing. He sent a long pass without hesitation. The pass was perfect.

Nathan controlled it and started another attack. The crowd was getting louder.

[> "Price on the ball again," <] Michael Harrison said. [> "He’s been their most dangerous player." <]

Marcelo came across to challenge. The Brazilian defender was determined to stop him this time around.

Nathan tried to cut inside, but Marcelo stayed with him. Good defending.

The winger played the ball back to Ben Williams who’d found space. The midfielder was twenty yards out.

[> "Williams in shooting position," <] Peter Walsh observed. [> "He’s got a good strike on him." <]

The shot came from distance. Rising and dipping toward the top corner.

Freddie Booth was at full stretch. The young keeper tipped it over the bar.

[> "BRILLIANT SAVE!" <] Michael Harrison screamed. [> "Booth with another crucial stop!" <]

The crowd applauded the save. Even the home fans appreciated the quality.

[> "That’s his sixth save," <] Peter Walsh noted. [> "Booth is having the game of his life." <]

The corner kick was taken by Connor Davis. The ball was whipped in toward the near post.

Marcus Price was waiting. He flicked it on with his head toward the far post.

Sam Rodriguez was arriving late. The winger met the ball with his left foot.

[> "RODRIGUEZ!" <] Michael Harrison shouted. [> "He’s in again!" <]

The shot was goalward. Freddie Booth was already moving, but he had being a tad slow to react.

Will van Drunen surprisingly appeared in the goal mouth from nowhere. The defender headed the ball away.

[> "CLEARED!" <] Peter Walsh screamed. [> "Van Drunen to the rescue again!" <]

The ball dropped to Jake Thompson. The defensive midfielder was twenty yards out.

He struck it first time. The shot was well-hit, but rising.

Jack Stones jumped and deflected it over the bar. Another crucial intervention.

[> "STONES AGAIN!" <] Michael Harrison shouted. [> "The captain is everywhere!" <]

The second corner kick was taken by Connor Davis. The ball was aimed at the back post.

Alex Morgan rose highest. The defender’s header was powerful and well-directed.

Freddie Booth was rooted to the spot. The ball was heading for the top corner.

At the last second, it crashed off the crossbar.

CLANG!

The crowd groaned.

[> "OFF THE BAR!" <] Peter Walsh screamed. [> "Inches away from retaking the lead!" <]

The ball bounced down toward the goal line. Freddie Booth scrambled to collect it. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

[> "Hastings are piling on the pressure," <] Michael Harrison noted. [> "They want their lead back." <]

The goalkeeper kicked the ball long. It found Luis Navarro near the halfway line.

The Spanish striker controlled it well. Tom Bradley was already challenging.

Luis held off the defender and played the ball to Ishaan Bhatt. The number ten was in space.

[> "Bhatt with the ball," <] Peter Walsh observed. [> "Rising Stars looking to counter." <]

Ishaan looked up and saw Declan Whittaker making a run down the left wing. He quickly served him the ball. The pass was perfect.

Whittaker controlled it and started another attack. The away fans were on their feet.

[> "Whittaker with pace," <] Michael Harrison said. [> "He’s got the beating of the right-back." <]

Dylan Foster came across to challenge. The defender was determined.

Whittaker cut inside, then outside. Foster stayed with him.

The cross came in. High and dangerous. Luis Navarro was waiting in the 18-yard box.

[> "LUIS NAVARRO AGAIN!" <] Peter Walsh shouted. [> "He’s looking for his second!" <]

The striker rose above Alex Morgan and his head connected with the ball. The header was powerful and well-directed to the top corner.

James Mitchell anticipated the direction. The dive was at full stretch. The keeper tipped it over the bar.

[> "SAVED!" <] Michael Harrison screamed. [> "Mitchell with a crucial stop!" <]

The crowd was on its feet. Both keepers were having incredible games.

[> "That’s his fifth save," <] Peter Walsh noted. [> "Mitchell keeping Hastings level." <]

The corner kick was taken by Émile Fournier. The ball was whipped in toward the near post.

Will van Drunen rose to meet it. The Dutch defender’s header was goalward.

Tom Bradley was on the line. The captain cleared it away.

[> "Still 1-1," <] Michael Harrison observed. [> "Both teams creating chances." <]

The game was thirty-five minutes old. The pace was relentless.

On the touchline, both managers were shouting instructions. Every decision mattered.

[> "Keep pressing!" <] Maddox yelled. [> "We’re getting there!" <]

The crowd was fully engaged. Every tackle, every pass, every shot was met with noise.

[> "This is incredible entertainment," <] Peter Walsh noted. [> "Both teams going for it." <]

The ball dropped to Harvey Quinlan. The midfielder was already moving forward.

Harvey found Ethan Suleiman with a pass down the right wing. The winger controlled it well.

[> "Suleiman with the ball," <] Michael Harrison said. [> "He’s been dangerous tonight." <]

The winger took on Ryan Clarke. The left-back was struggling to keep up.

Suleiman cut inside, away from the touchline. His left foot was cocked.

[> "Suleiman in shooting position," <] Peter Walsh observed. [> "He’s got that pace to burn." <]

The shot came from twenty yards. Low and hard, aimed at the bottom corner.

James Mitchell dove to his left. The keeper got his fingertips to the ball.

This time, it was enough. The ball went wide for a corner.

[> "SAVED!" <] Michael Harrison shouted. [> "Mitchell with another crucial stop!" <]

The crowd was going wild. The goalkeeper was keeping his team in the game.

[> "Six saves now," <] Peter Walsh noted. [> "Mitchell matching Booth shot for shot." <]

The corner kick was taken by Émile Fournier. The ball was aimed at the back post.

Jack Stones rose highest. The captain’s header was powerful.

Tom Bradley was on the line. The defender cleared it away.

[> "Still level," <] Michael Harrison observed. [> "Both teams refusing to give up." <]

The game was approaching the fortieth minute. The first half was flying by.

Both teams were creating chances. The goalkeepers were the stars.
