Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton-Chapter 991 - 561: Silver Coin to Buy the House of the Deceased
Chapter 991: Chapter 561: Silver Coin to Buy the House of the Deceased
"This isn’t a problem at all—what else could Ange, this Dead Skull, do with soil other than planting things?"
So, Negris really didn’t expect any other answer from him, it was just curious as to what could be grown on ice?
Yes, it wondered ’what can be grown’, not ’whether it can be grown’. It had been taught that as long as it involved this Dead Skull and planting, one shouldn’t wonder whether it could be planted because it surely could be.
The question was, what could be grown from it?
For the God of Knowledge, this was an incredibly unthinkable change, and it had been shocked into disbelief in this regard.
The ice surface isn’t soil—it’s not mud, the temperature is super low, and there are absolutely no nutrients. What could be grown in such an environment?
Ange nodded then walked across the ice surface, triggering the Soil Loosening Technique; the hard ice immediately shattered into fine powder.
The powder, as if brought to life, slowly rose and piled into loose rows of crushed ice, which looked so much like snow, loosely packed and irresistibly tempting to step on.
Just as Negris was about to act on that impulse, the broken ice slowly rose, forming the head of a Water Element, which stared emotionlessly at it, but though its face showed no expression, it had its tiny hands clenched into fists behind its back.
Negris withdrew its dragon foot and ’enthusiastically’ smiled, "Oh, it’s just a little sphere, tilling the soil? Keep at it, and don’t be lazy."
The Water Element glared stubbornly at him and stiffly said, "Little, lizard."
"Hehe." Negris had expected it to say that—this Water Element’s vocabulary wasn’t rich, and ’lizard’ might be the only somewhat offensive word it could think of, but such already used words had no offensive power over a slick old dragon like Negris.
"Little ice ball, little water ball, little clump of ice, small ice cube, tiny element, little pain in the ass..." Negris threw a series of nicknames at it, each emphasizing ’little’, frustrating the Water Element into loudly crying out ’Aoao’.
"Why... why do you also understand Aoao language? Who are you calling?" Negris’s heart skipped a beat, and it couldn’t help but panic as it looked up.
Not far away, Little Angel, with arms stretched wide to maintain balance, thundered over. Despite her small size, her rushing over made the ice surface rumble loudly.
"Kvada! Help me!" Negris immediately covered its head and scurried away towards Ange—on this world, only Ange could control this deadly angel.
"Why, why can it speak Aoao language, when did you two get so cozy?" Hiding beside Ange, Negris dared to peek out and loudly demanded an explanation.
Little Angel patted her flat chest then pointed at the Water Element: "Ao!"
"Kvada, you’re just going to cover for it? It’s only known you a few days, I’ve known you so much longer, you heartless creature, I’m telling Anthony to stop taking you to fights," Negris fumed as it berated.
"Ao!" Little Angel showed a sparkling clear crystal and said.
"Ah? You accepted its gift, so you have to cover for it? What gift, let me see," Negris curiously leaned closer.
"Oh, you heartless thing." Negris caught a punch to the eye socket, but it also managed to snatch the crystal from Little Angel’s hand; of course, Little Angel intentionally let it, as it couldn’t outmatch Little Angel otherwise.
After studying the crystal carefully, Negris said, "Is this a Water Element Crystal Core? A blank one? Formed by the little sphere?"
Typically, elements are very active—apart from the Earth Element, whether wind, water, fire, or lightning, all are incredibly active and unpredictable, which is disadvantageous for life, resulting in very rare element creatures.
A Crystal Core is a stable kind of elemental crystal and the core of an element creature. With it, an element might possibly foster life.
The Crystal Core formed by the little sphere essentially created a new Water Element. Given some time to develop, the birth of a new Water Element was highly likely.
Negris couldn’t help but be amazed, "Little Ball even has this capability? This is the level of an Elemental Monarch, are you that incredible, Little Ball?"
"Little——lizard." The face of Little Ball formed once again on the ice, stiffly saying.
Alright, this guy held a grudge and was completely uncommunicative, so Negris had no choice but to put it aside for now and come back to it later.
Flying over to Ange’s side, Negris asked, "What do you plan on planting? Is there anything that can grow on ice?"
Ange took out a big clump of sawdust.
"Uh, isn’t that the sawdust those fat insects eat? You’re not going to tell me you can plant this, are you?" Negris gasped.
The interior of Divine Wood had large amounts of this sawdust, where the Dragon Clan bred those fat insects. Negris glanced at it briefly, thinking it was residue from Divine Wood. But now, Ange was taking it out and telling him he planned to plant it. Was he kidding?
Ange spread the sawdust, revealing a coiled-up core part, and dripped some Insect Ash Liquid on it. Quickly, the sawdust core, which resembled a cabbage heart, slowly began to unfurl.
"It’s actually alive? Is this moss?" Negris asked.
Ange nodded, "Ancient, tree moss."
If it was moss, it might actually be able to grow on ice. Now interested, Negris attentively observed Ange’s planting method.
Ange first created ridges on the ice, then sprinkled a layer of Divine Wood Coal on the ridges, dividing them into different control groups, with powdered Divine Wood Coal, granular, and burnt residue.
It seemed that Ange was still experimenting with the technique of planting on ice.
Many cores of the sawdust moss were collected, each activated with Insect Ash Liquid and planted in the coal-mixed ridges, and Ange activated the Instant Death Halo.
The sawdust moss indeed slowly began to grow. In the three control groups, those with powdered and granular Divine Wood Coal grew well, but the burnt residues didn’t grow at all.
"So, this kind of sawdust moss needs Divine Wood Coal to grow?" Negris concluded.
Ange shook his head, "Here it does."
Here it does? So, other places don’t? It seemed this Dead Skull had tried planting it in Dimensional Space.
The growth of the sawdust moss was slow, but in such freezing Void, it was impressive that it grew at all. The ice was just a trial field; the larger planting area was on Divine Wood Land.
The next phase was entering large-scale production. The Giant Dragons, temporarily not needed for pulling carts, found they had to pull plows instead—how could they be saved by the Dragon God only to live even harder lives than before?
A large amount of ice was crushed and spread over the surface of Divine Wood, covering the dim Divine Wood Continent with a layer of ice.
The awakened Disciples of Light also joined this large production. The only trouble was the thin air on the surface; each time they went out to work, the Giant Dragons had to perform the Dragon Clan Breathing Technique, so it was impossible to live on the surface long-term. It seemed necessary to find a way to increase the surface air density.
Just as Ange was contemplating how to increase the air density, Anthony arrived with a strange expression, finding Ange and Negris: "Lord, do you remember the House of the Deceased? Silver coin might buy it."
Negris was suddenly startled, "Buy it? Can that thing even be bought? If we buy it, isn’t it stored with over a billion in management fees, can we use that?"
PS: Thank you everyone for your monthly votes, the weather is too hot, couldn’t get energized, will try again tomorrow.
