From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master-Chapter 203: Young Elder
Nightfall.
When they got back to the inn, they cleaned up, took a rest, and went down to the dining area for dinner.
"So, we will leave and get back to the sect tomorrow?" Guo He Ru asked as he munched on a dumpling.
Lin Fan shook his head and said, "I intend to find the guild master tomorrow. I want the Golden Core Ascension Pill. And if possible, we might be able to get a worthy partner to supply your herbs."
"Really?" Guo He Ru’s eyes opened wide at the possibility of getting the guild master as a supplier.
"We shall see," Lin Fan said and sipped his tea as he watched what was going on in the dining area.
Diners were chattering about what happened during the day as usual.
"Have you heard? The guild master has increased the reward."
"Hmm. If only I could get my hands on some Dragon’s Tail Grass now."
"I bet you the lucky bastards who had the Dragon’s Tail Grass would be settled for life."
Everyone was envious of whoever got the rewards.
But they couldn’t do much, as even the guild members went searching in full strength and weren’t able to find any Dragon’s Tail Grass.
Lin Fan smiled at the good news for him.
It was one of the best, most delicious meals he’d had in a long time.
When the waiter walked past, Lin Fan stopped him and asked, "Do you know where to find the guild master?"
"The guild master? It’s right down the street, and you can see a luxurious building," the waiter replied with a worried look as his brows furrowed.
These newcomers must be thinking of using fake herbs to try and get the rewards, he thought.
The waiter wanted to warn Lin Fan that a few had been sentenced to death for this and he’d better not try.

However, the other patrons heard Lin Fan.
They shook their heads and whispered among themselves.
"Do you know them? They look like someone new to the trade."
"No one had seen them before."
"So, these amateurs think they have the Dragon’s Tail Grass?"
"I bet you they must have mistaken the Feather Grass for the Dragon’s Tail Grass."
"Shall we warn them?"
"No, what’s the fun in that. We shall have a show to watch tomorrow."
The diners were anticipating a show to watch when Lin Fan gets into trouble with his fake herb tomorrow.
Lin Fan, however, was his usual self, calm and just took in everything while enjoying his tea.
…
Next day.
When Lin Fan, Ho Ming, and Guo He Ru had their breakfast, they made their way to the guild master.
The guild master’s mansion wasn’t far, and they reached after half an hour’s walk.
The mansion was huge and luxuriously decorated, with white marble walls and green tiles, and statues of auspicious beasts were plated with gold.
With Pills and Elixirs being highly sought after in Quan Dynasty, wealth and power came naturally to whoever controlled them.
A crowd had formed around the gate, waiting to see who would be able to get the rewards.
"Stop. What do you want?" the guard at the gate asked when he saw Lin Fan approaching.
Lin Fan smiled and said, "I’m here to sell my Dragon’s Tail Grass."
Someone in the crowd recognized Lin Fan from the night before.
They sniggered as they waited for the show to unfold.
The guard shook his head and asked Lin Fan again, "I will have to warn you, trying to cheat with fake herbs will cost you your life. You still have a chance to turn back."
There were few charlatans who risked their lives for the rewards and were sentenced to death earlier.
"Fake herbs? No, my elder here can vouch for the authenticity of the Dragon’s Tail Grass I have."
Lin Fan said and patted Guo He Ru on his back.
"Elder?"
"Did he say Elder?"
The crowd couldn’t hold it in anymore as they saw Guo He Ru, who was so young, being addressed as an elder.
They burst out laughing at the situation.
Some shook their heads sympathetically at Lin Fan, thinking that he had been lied to by Guo He Ru.
Guo He Ru got angry and shouted at the crowd.
"I’m an elder from Qing Feng Sect’s Alchemy Peak.
"One of the most talented that the sect had ever witnessed.
"My first pill I ever conjured was Heavenly Level for the common Qi Concentration Pill.
"A feat not replicated after so many years!"
He spelled out his achievements and stood proud with his hands on his waist.
However, it didn’t achieve what he wanted.
"I guess liars have no shame."
"These two poor fellows being swindled so badly."
"Huh. Never in my life did I think I would see someone so shameless."
The crowd was now laughing hysterically at his claims.

"Wait? Why are you laughing? What I said is true!"
Guo He Ru was exasperated at the situation.
Lin Fan shook his head and glanced over at Ho Ming.
Ho Ming took his cue and drew out his sword.
"What are you doing?" the guards shouted.
"Just showing how wrong they are," Ho Ming said as he thrust his sword into the sky.
A twirling wind shot at the sky subsequently.
"The Twirling Wind Strike!"
The crowd gasped as they saw the twirling wind.
This strike is a signature move from the Qing Feng Sect.
That means the claim of Guo He Ru being from Qing Feng Sect might be true.
All of them turned quiet at the realization.
Lin Fan patted Guo He Ru’s back again and said, "See, more action than talk. It always works better."
Guo He Ru sighed and took his lesson.
He had better rein in some of his boisterous nature to survive outside his alchemy lab.
"Hurry up if you have got the Dragon’s Tail Grass. We don’t have the whole day."
By now, the guards were impatient with the commotion going on.
The crowd watched intensely as they watched Lin Fan’s next move.
Do they really have the Dragon’s Tail Grass? They wondered.
"What’s happening?" an old man said, and everyone looked at the old man.
"It’s him!"
