From Imp to Demon God: Conquering the Demon World With a Succubus-Chapter 36: Veyr’Thal race
"The third step is called Vein Breaker Dash. You overclock the blood pressure into your legs. It’s an instant explosive dash, leaving after-images. The first strike gains massive penetration, so it’s designed to kill. It’s an execution aspect step."
The Commander pointed at an enormous tree with a wide, massive trunk. Suddenly, he positioned his body in a running position and afterimages of him appeared going forward to the enormous tree.
However, before the afterimages were halfway to the enormous tree, its wide, massive trunk suddenly exploded. Sharp pieces flew everywhere, causing Myles to evade some of them.
Finally, when he stabilized himself, he glanced at the afterimages and it had just reached the broken enormous tree.
At the same time, the Commander already appeared beside him, staring at the destruction he caused.
He said, "The afterimages are just a distraction to increase the chances of the execution to be successful.
Since I am more of an assassin than just a guard of the Lady of Chains and Whispered Vows, I have mastered this third step, to the point the efficiency in consuming the demonic energy for this step decreased considerably."
Myles frowned.
"Isn’t the second step more lethal than the third step?"
The Commander laughed. "I am tasked to kill the Greater Demon and they are not easy to kill. Sure, the second step might be lethal against powerful demons, you need more than just a surprise swift attack."
Myles nodded.
His mouth curled upward. "Why would any Greater Demon commit something in this kingdom that needed them to be killed?"
The Commander chuckled. "You never know. The seven kingdoms are always fighting against each other in the dark, never letting any chances to slip by. Although they formed a peace pact because of the prophecy, they still continued to send scouts against each other."
"Peace pact? Scouts?"
The Commander stared at Myles and said, "You really are lacking knowledge, aren’t you? Well, other kingdoms are just wary that any of the kings might submit to the future Demon God. Although the chances are very low, they are still wary. That’s why the Demon World has been so unrest lately."
Myles pondered. This is big. I can make use of this.
"I see. Say, do you believe that the prophecy is true?"
The Commander replied in a stern voice, "The Veyr’Thal race has an innate demonic art that lets them see the future. And they are the one who revealed the prophecy."
"The Veyr’Thal race?"
The Commander nodded. "Mhm. They are the only noble demons who have an oracle bloodline. They resided in the Ashen Vein Spire before, which was now annexed by the seven kingdoms, after they discovered they were hiding a great prophecy that jeopardized the life of the seven kings."
"So, they annihilated the Veyr’Thal race and discovered the great prophecy?"
The Commander nodded. "Exactly. The Veyr’Thal race has already been annihilated and the last words of their High Chief are..."
The Commander stared at Myles and said in a grave tone, "Glory to the Demon God. Hail to the Emperor that will unify the Demon World and introduce us to the higher plane."
"Higher plane? What does it mean?"
The Commander shrugged. "Who knows? What’s even stranger is that they aren’t even angry at the seven kings."
"How can you be sure?"
"Because I witnessed it. Before me and the Lady of Chains and Whisphered Vows graduated, we were included in the—"
The Commander paused and frowned.
He glared at Myles. "Why are we even talking about this? We’re wasting so much time now."
Myles raised his hands and said, "I didn’t even intend to raise the topic."
The Commander shook his head and said, "Have you memorized all the steps?"
Myles said, "The names and effects, of course. As for how, I don’t know. You didn’t explain properly."
The Commander rolled his eyes. "And that takes time. You kept asking so many questions unrelated to our real purpose here. Do you want to get scolded by the Guardian of Scarlet Bond again?"
Myles shuddered. That crazy woman! To think she’s so powerful I couldn’t even resist at all! In the first place, I was only aware I got charmed when it was already interrupted by Violet.
The Commander snorted. "Alright. The Bloodfade Step requires you to thin your blood circulation and releases faint blood mist through your pores. You can use your demonic energy to coordinate the bloodmist with your artifact. Your artifact will also respond to your demonic energy depending on your intention..."
The Commander continued to instruct Myles on how to execute the Bloodfade Step.
After a while, Myles absorbed the information the Commander provided and practiced it.
The Commander stared at Myles and his eyes widened.
He thought. I can’t believe it. He did it in his first try.
Although he could still see Myles crystal clear, he also discerned the proper execution of Bloodfade Step by him.
In other words, Myles learned the Bloodfade Step in his first try.
He stared at Myles eyes and saw he was still serious as though it was nothing for him.
That was then he realized Myles was attempting to sprint with the Bloodfade Step.
It’s a bit difficult for him to move while being in the Bloodfade Step. He had to actively work the Bloodfade Step. For him to walk with it and even run, it requires a high level of mastery.
However, he was proven wrong when Myles jogged while the Bloodfade Step was active.
His body temperature remained dropped, his heartbeat sound completely vanished, and his presence was heavily suppressed.
His movements left almost no sound or trace. If the Commander was on the same rank as Myles, and he didn’t know his existence beforehand, he would have completely missed his presence.
This guy’s comprehension... how outstanding. He might really fare better than I thought.
His eyes sparkled with excitement. He was excited to inform the Lady of Chains and Whipshered Vows to assure her that the Mistress’ knights have a higher potential than him...
