Full-Time Public Enemy-Chapter 695 - 504 Infiltration (Part 3)
The branches twisted in agony as a flurry of urgent warning messages were rapidly sent out. While other branches were about to disperse in panic, Chen Gu's gaseous body had already expanded infinitely, filling the entire passageway ruins. In this state, with his current strength, he still couldn't attack over a dozen branches simultaneously.
However, Chen Gu could gently "caress" each branch once. The branches, completely unaware, scattered like a group of startled snakes.
The branch controlled by Chen Gu's "Mind Remote Control" was among them.
In the air, the colorful gases slowly condensed, and Chen Gu reappeared. He hid the "Deep Space Hand Cannon" inside the "Ultra Core Armor" and immediately went to rescue Balermo.
The Seventh Energy Level master was in a sorry state, still unconscious.
Although the Hell Titan was strong, it was far less robust than the Combat Rooster, which stood hundreds of meters tall, at least in terms of physical constitution.
Moreover, the Combat Rooster was massive. Consequently, a wound from a "Deep Space Hand Cannon" of the same power, while huge and terrifying for Balermo, was merely a small gash for the Rooster Lord.
The damage was naturally incomparable.
Both Chen Gu's and Balermo's mechas had been destroyed, and they had lost all their supplies. However, in Chen Gu's Dimensional Prison Ring, there were still some potions. He found an emergency one and injected Balermo with it.
The expensive potion quickly took effect. Balermo took a deep breath and regained consciousness, then let out a pained howl, "How embarrassing!"
With a bitter smile, Balermo said, "To think that I, a mighty Seventh Energy Level, have been repeatedly rescued by a Fifth Energy Level along the way."
Chen Gu also laughed, "Senior, we are a team."
Balermo, relieved, said, "Yes, we are a team, helping and covering for each other!"
Chen Gu looked at his wounds and asked, "How are they, Senior? Can you still move? If not, I'll notify Senior Modric to retrieve you."
"No problem." Balermo patted his chest. Seemingly activating some of his professional abilities, the terrifying wounds on his body began to heal rapidly.
"Let's go." Balermo stood up. As the bone armor on his body also began to slowly recover, he added, "Hopefully, we can find that damned Gascolin Hondarei this time."
"Alright."
This section of the passageway had been bombed and collapsed, but it wasn't completely blocked. Balermo led the way, moving aside huge broken concrete blocks to clear the passage. If a block was too stuck to move, he simply shattered it with a few punches, quickly clearing the path.
Chen Gu followed him. Seeing the standard operating procedure of a Hell Titan, he couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
One by one, bulges appeared on the alloy door. It deformed more and more severely, and it looked like it wouldn't hold much longer.
Gascolin and Murray threw all their strength into bracing the door with their backs. However, faced with the monstrous force from outside, the two men seemed particularly frail.
Melissa and the other two girls were so frightened their legs went weak. They huddled to one side, able only to cry.
Murray was desperately trying to encourage Gascolin, perhaps also to bolster his own spirits, saying, "Young Master, the rescuers should find us soon! We must hold on!"
BANG—
Another impact sent them flying. They saw stars, their heads ringing as if they'd been hit by a truck.
But then, everything suddenly fell silent. The banging from outside had inexplicably stopped, and the indistinct roars of the monsters also disappeared.
In the entire space, only the crying of the three girls remained.
Gascolin suddenly heard something. He raised a finger to his lips, signaling the three girls, "Shh! Don't make a sound!"
The girls stifled their sobs. Gascolin and Murray heard it clearly: the sound of heavy footsteps approaching from outside.
The footsteps grew closer and faster. The two men suddenly realized something. Their expressions changed drastically as they scrambled to the side.
BANG—
BOOM!
The footsteps accelerated and crashed against the door. This impact was particularly strong. The door twisted and deformed without any resistance, tore from its frame, and flew inward, taking the various heavy objects piled behind it along for the ride.
If Gascolin and Murray had remained behind the door, they would have been sent flying with it.
Moreover, judging by the force of the impact, their bones and internal organs would have undoubtedly shattered, killing them instantly.
"AAAH—" The girls screamed again. The gaping doorway, now empty, seemed utterly terrifying to everyone present.
CREAK, CREAK...
Withered, black branches snaked in from outside the doorway. They were followed by a Skull Tree Person, even larger and more ferocious than the one Murray and Gascolin had seen before.
It quickly noticed the five people inside. The tree-hollow that served as its mouth seemed to twist into what could only be a cold smirk.
Then more branches, like skeletal claws, reached in, spreading towards everyone.
With a scream, Gascolin grabbed a metal bar nearby and swung it forcefully, smashing it into the branches.
CRACK!
A few thinner branches broke, but many more, dozens of times as many, stretched toward him, swiftly overwhelming both Gascolin and his last bit of courage.
Gascolin could no longer swing his metal bar. As he watched those ghastly, claw-like black branches stretch towards him, he completely despaired. Is this the end for me, this young master?
Suddenly, all the branches froze. Then, a crimson light spread from behind them, incinerating every branch it touched, turning them to ash.
