Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 412 - 351: A Cub Who Fell from the Sky
「After seeing Fei Yuan off.」
Minos glanced at the untouched tea across from him and turned his head toward the folding screen. "Come on out. He knew you were here all along."
"I was just trying to avoid causing unnecessary gossip for the Holy Monarch. After all, it would be improper for a newly appointed Demon Lord to visit the Holy Hall. If anyone saw me, they might think I was leading an army to attack it."
Quan Jin strolled out from behind the screen, dressed in magnificent black and gold robes with a faint smile playing on his lips.
He cast a dark look toward the door, a shadow passing through his eyes.
Minos set down his teacup. "You know better than anyone what happened to the Yalan Beast King."
"...I know." Quan Jin sat down across from him. "I won’t harm anyone Sangsang cares about. She has already given me two of the most precious children imaginable; that alone is the greatest blessing. Even if I wanted more, I wouldn’t do something that would ruin the relationship we’ve worked so hard to mend."
"It’s good that you think that way. For Luoluo, she needs more and stronger Beast Husbands."
"But there can’t be too many. I doubt she could handle them all." Quan Jin’s expression turned sullen as he looked at the divinely handsome, golden-haired man across from him. "Don’t you mind?"
Minos scoffed. "I’m afraid I’ll never have the chance to be in a position to mind."
Quan Jin took out a black Token. "The aura about you is growing stronger. Are you coming back? When that day truly comes, I’m afraid the Holy Hall will no longer have a place for you."
Minos didn’t reach for it, lowering his gaze. "I can still suppress it for now," he said softly. "It’s not that serious yet. I’ll go into seclusion in a while."
Hearing this, Quan Jin put the Token away. He turned to look out the window and muttered, "I wonder when Sangsang will return... I’ll go pick her up!"
"If you don’t want to see something you’d rather not, I’d advise against going over and disturbing her," Minos said with a smile.
Quan Jin’s expression darkened. "She really found someone new?"
A thin thread of condensed golden light appeared on Minos’s fingertip and vanished into the void, stretching to some unknown destination. "Your line of fate and mine are both intertwined with hers."
"Many lines of fate will cross with hers throughout her life, and some of those are... special existences. She must go to the Star Vortex Insect Nest this time. There’s a forgotten line of fate there that has been waiting for her. Or, to put it another way, that line of fate was reborn for her sake."
It dawned on Quan Jin. "So that’s the real reason you didn’t stop her from going."
"Yes. She’ll have regrets if she misses this line of fate," Minos said with a small smile. "They have to meet, one way or another. As for whether the outcome is to sever that line or keep it, that will be up to Luoluo to decide."
Still worried, Quan Jin stood up to leave. Minos said, "You were wrong about one thing."
"Hm?"
"She hasn’t only borne you two children."
Quan Jin’s heart leaped in surprise. A shimmer of light suddenly appeared in midair, and a small baby fell into his arms.
’A... a heaven-sent baby!’
"Daddy~!" the little baby called out to Quan Jin in a clear, bright voice.
For a moment, Quan Jin thought some random child was trying to scam him into being its father. But as he looked at the baby’s chubby cheeks, large, grape-like eyes, long, curly lashes, and skin as white as jade, he saw that the child looked partly like Sangsang, and partly like himself.
’This is it! This is my child with Sangsang!’
Quan Jin held his breath.
Minos walked over to take a look, his voice tinged with envy. "It looks a lot like her."
It had taken a purely human form.
’It resembles her even more than my two Little Angels do. Luoluo must have looked just like this when she was born.’
"This child’s cultivation... It was born in the Venerable Realm!"
This time, even Minos was utterly stunned.
’Talent like this is comparable to the first Primordial Demons!’
"Daddy~ Cuddle~ I’m hungwy~~"
Quan Jin snapped out of his daze and sent a wisp of his Magic Power to circulate through the child’s body.
Its body contained another immense power that hadn’t been fully digested. It was a case of forcing growth too quickly, which could easily lead to an unstable foundation. Forcing himself to remain calm, Quan Jin said, "I’ll head back and take care of the child."
"Alright."
After watching him leave, Minos also departed to enter seclusion alone.
...
「Star Vortex Insect Nest.」
「Half an hour earlier.」
Sang Luo emerged holding a baby in her arms and ran right into Biya, who had just arrived.
The atmosphere immediately became a little awkward.
Sang Luo had originally planned to let the baby rest, but it felt a little strange to keep a child who could already talk and think inside her belly, so she had pulled Little Treasure out.
The form Little Treasure had taken was indistinguishable from a newborn human baby. Its features strongly resembled hers; it was obvious at a glance that it was her flesh and blood!
Biya stared at the child for a long moment, then turned and walked away.
Sang Luo called out to him, but he didn’t look back, and his figure soon vanished.
’He’s really angry this time...’
Sigh. She had told him long ago that the child wasn’t his, but he stubbornly refused to believe her.
Sang Luo glanced in the direction Biya had gone, then looked down at the baby in her arms.
"Mommy~ I want to go find Daddy~" Little Treasure said considerately.
"Okay, Mommy will send you to find your daddy. Your daddy and your big brother and big sister haven’t even met you yet!"
After sending Little Treasure off, Sang Luo wasn’t in a hurry to leave the Star Vortex Insect Nest. The Insect Clan’s crisis was resolved, so there was no rush. She could stay for a few more days and—while she was at it—win her man over!
She knew Biya wanted a child.
Sang Luo had once promised Anubia that, if possible, she would have a child for him.
Sang Luo was determined to appease him, but for half a month, there was no sign of him anywhere.
She asked the confidants Biya usually kept by his side, but they didn’t know anything either.
His end of their soul mark was continuously blocked to her.
In other words—
He had blocked her!
A one-sided block.
In all her time with so many men, this was the first time she had ever encountered such a situation.
But perversely, his aloofness and this silent treatment he was giving her were starting to get to her.
She started staking out the Insect King Palace every day, refusing to leave. ’Let’s see just how long you can hide from me!’
One day, when it was time for her routine prenatal check-up, Sang Luo stared at the examination report, stunned. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The doctor said happily, "Congratulations, Miss. The fetus is developing perfectly normally."
"..." ’Didn’t I send Little Treasure back to its father? How can there still be a baby in my belly?’
’No, that’s not right. Little Treasure said that Primordial Demons are different from the ordinary Demon Clan. A Pure-blooded Primordial Demon doesn’t need to be gestated in the womb. In other words... it didn’t take up any space.’
’The "child" on the report was never it to begin with!’
’...That night, I actually got pregnant.’
’No wonder Little Treasure kept crying that it was hungry after arriving in the Insect Clan’s territory. It turns out there was another baby in my womb, competing with it for food.’
Sang Luo guiltily stroked her belly.
’She was such a careless mother, only realizing the problem now.’
’Well, being pregnant is a good thing. I don’t have to go through all the trouble of finding Anubia anymore. I can just focus on having the baby, and that will fulfill the promise I made to him all those years ago.’
Her storage space still held the Crystal Cores Biya had given her earlier, which were better suited for gestating an Insect Clan child. She ate them on schedule every day, terrified of letting this new baby go hungry too.
「A few nights later.」
Sang Luo was fast asleep when she faintly sensed Anubia’s aura flaring out of control.
She woke up.
The soul mark on her left wrist was glowing erratically. Something was wrong...
Still in her sleepwear, Sang Luo got out of bed, slipped on her shoes, and followed the feeling all the way to the Insect King’s private chambers.
’He came back tonight.’
Biya was collapsed on the carpet beside the bed. One hand clutched his chest, his clothes were in disarray, and he was gasping for breath. An unnatural flush colored his handsome face, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead.
Hearing footsteps at the door, he snarled, "Get out!"
