Genetic Extra In The Apocalypse-Chapter 69: Idiot
Malek’s head rattled, flung to the side from Sean’s oppressive kick. A wave of dizziness washed over him, and for some seconds, he couldn’t different up from down, his axis completely jumbled.
Those few seconds, were precious enough, that they almost completely decided his life or death.
The moment Sean’s foot touched land from his kick, he advanced, pressing ok his advantage, his elbow greeting Malek’s temple, throwing the latter’s head back.
Punch after punch, kick after kick, each one serving its purpose of completely overwhelming Malek, giving him no room to even think straight, or launch a proper counter attack.
"Enough!" Malek roared.
Sean’s pupils constricted, and he hurriedly erupted backwards, barely avoiding being skewered.
Spikes erupted from the ground all around Malek, shooting upwards like the spears of warriors of old, nearing turning Sean into a blood sponge.
Malek glared at Sean, his face completely disheveled. His breathing was erratic, and his chest rose and fell with each huff, his red eyes begging for blood.
Sean stared back coldly, his eyes tracking every minute movement the scaled man made.
One popular phrase he knew, was that a cornered beast, was often the most dangerous kind... Though he didn’t believe that Malek thought of himself as cornered.
If anything, it was Sean himself that was cornered. But Malek and Victor had seemingly glazed over that fact, which brought them to where they were now. Sean did not intend to make such foolish mistake.
"How long do you intend to evade the inevitable?" Malek growled.
"The only thing inevitable is your suffering." Sean replied, his voice still calm, while blood dripped slowly from his nose, his head pounding in overexertion.
Malek suddenly began laughing, and Sean’s eyes narrowed, alarm bells blaring in his head. Laughing in this kind of situation, no matter whether it was a third or second rate villain, was not a good sign.
Malek’s laughter suddenly ceased, his voice coming out cold and completely arrogant.
"You think because you’re still standing you’re strong? Or because of your lineage you’re strong? What stage are you at? Beginner Stage-1, and you think that is power?!"
His voice turned into a sneer at the last second.
Sean suddenly had a bad feeling. Even his death sense, started pulsing with warnings of death. But compared to the danger he felt at the pit, the one that left him completely terrified and motionless, it still fell short.
And even if it was as terrifying as that image that had sworn to haunt him forever, the effects wouldn’t be the same anymore. He had made an oath to himself never to fall pathetic to such whims again, and he didn’t intend to break it.
Still, Malek’s words wasn’t something he could take lightly. If his death sense was warning, then that meant he could die.
"Fine, let me show you what strength is!" Malek bellowed, and...
*CRACK!*
The sound of something snapping resounded through the air, causing a shudder to run through Sean’s spine.
A pulse of energy billowed from outwards from Malek, forming a visible expanding ring in the air, that shattered when it got close to Sean.
Sean’s heart chilled, and his gaze sharpened till it could almost slice through the air.
"Stage-2." He muttered, feeling solemn. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
All the while, Malek’s gaze never left Sean’s, and the moment he finished his breakthrough, he smiled.
"You might be strong, far stronger that any beginner I know, but ultimately, you’re still weak." Malek said, his gaze disdainful as though educating a peasant.
He had come to knowing Sean’s limits. And it was almost impossible for Sean to win. He fought bare handed, lacked refined techniques, and wasn’t physically strong enough to really do anything.
In those seconds when Sean had overwhelmed him, if it had been someone on equal strength, or slightly weaker than himself, then he would have died before he could recover.
But not only did Sean fail to kill him, he didn’t even manage to do significant damage. It was hopeless, but it did reveal the truth that those Whitlocks have continuously denied, until it led to their demise.
"In the end, you’re still human!" Malek spat, and the ground beneath his feet fractured.
Sean’s pupils constricted but it was too late... He couldn’t react in time.
*BOOM!*
A punch connected to his diaphragm, knocking the wind out of him, and throwing him into a world of pain.
The blow lifted his feet off the air but before he could be sent flying, Malek’s heel found his head, using Sean’s signature head kicks, against him.
Sean slammed to the ground, his chest tight and struggling to breathe. Blood tricked from his head, staining his white hair that was now caked in mud, red.
But he didn’t have the time to groan in pain or anything similar. His death sense rang with fierce alarm, warning him of certain death if he didn’t react.
Malek was not giving him time to pull up another Hail Mary, as the two times Sean did something like that, he had to pay dearly. And even though he masked it with disdain, it humiliation burned deep in his soul, blazing like a raging flame.
Lightning exploded out of Sean’s body, and unlike the usual blueish white like he was used to, the lightning affinity that was native to the world of "Evolution Is The Way To Mythic"... the same color that the lightning that flashes in the sky was known for...
This time it was a blood red, and carried a scent of death.
Malek felt his heart jump, but he couldn’t back out quick enough. It struck him, sending his body into a shock frenzy, completely disregarding his reflective scales.
Sean did not do the stupid thing of wasting time to think on what this new lightning was, and why it was of a different color.
He immediately pushed himself off the floor, pushing through the pain that was wracking allover his body, appearing before Malek the next instant.
His hips rotated, his left leg leaving the ground, into a kick motion.
Malek who finally managed to break out of his partial paralysis, heart completely terrified, crossed his arms over his legs in defense, only for a gust of wind to blow past him.
"Idiot!"
Sean’s voice came from his back like the grim reaper, and an arm wrapped around his neck. His eyes widened, and the arm twisted, breaking his neck, and snuffing the life out of him.
