Chapter 141: Chapter 141: False Story

Zhou Susu’s voice trembled as she spoke, her words disjointed.

"It’s... it’s touching me. I can feel its cold fingers on my skin."

Jiang Lei’s mind raced, and he reached into his pocket, retrieving the last talisman he had.

He knew that this was the last talisman but he can’t watch Zhou Susu dying.

Without a second thought, he held it up and channeled his energy into it.

The talisman emitted a bright light, illuminating the area around them.

The alley was suddenly empty, and Zhou Susu’s trembling ceased.

She stared at Jiang Lei with a mixture of relief and gratitude.

"Thank you," she whispered, her voice shaky.

"I don’t know what that was, but... thank you for saving me."

Jiang Lei smiled, his heart still pounding from the adrenaline.

"It’s okay. We’re here for you."

As the light from the talisman faded, Zhou Susu’s expression shifted once again.

Her eyes turned hollow, and a haunting smile spread across her face.

"You shouldn’t have done that," she said, her voice eerily calm.

Jiang Lei and Xia Meng exchanged a confused glance.

Something about Zhou Susu’s demeanor felt off.

"What do you mean?" Xia Meng asked cautiously.

’Zhou Susu’ smiled and her voice transformed into a hoarse voice,

"You will know..."

Xia Meng and Jiang Lei felt as if their body was getting sticky and horror appeared in their eyes.

"Ahh!"

....

Yu Holea took out a tracking talisman and asked Jiang Wei to drop her blood on the talisman.

Then she flicked the tracking talisman in the air.

Li Chong couldn’t help but ask,

"Are you training them?"

Yu Holea nodded and as she saw the red color of the talisman that was flying in the north direction, she said in a serious voice,

"He is in grave danger."

From the moment she entered this graveyard, Yu Holea knew that this graveyard wasn’t easy to deal with.

It was okay if there was 100 to 200 ghost but to her surprise, there was thousands of spirit trapped here.

Not to mention the fragment of various scenes kept on appearing in Yu Holea’s brain.

Yu Holea understood that once she breakthrough black rank, the next superpower she will attain will be ’memory’.

Through this, she can see any place’s past, present, and future after roaming around.

It was her guess and the most possible reason because she didn’t know how she was able to see the future without even using her mystic energy.

From those fragments, she knew the story of the graveyard.

And she couldn’t help but want to curse at the groundskeeper.

He was so selfish...

Not to mention his daughter was more shameless!

Yu Holea’s brows furrowed.

She was the only one who knew the entire story after coming here.

The actual story of the cursed graveyard was so different but anyways she doesn’t need to tell it to others for now.

Yu Holea followed the talisman and just when she reached halfway she suddenly looked at one of the trees.

There a girl in a white dress was sitting and smiling with a chilly expression.

When she felt a gaze on herself the girl looked at Yu Holea.

Yu Holea raised an eyebrow and said,

"Don’t you feel ashamed?’

The girl was stunned for a bit and then said with an angry expression,

"What do you know! Just shut up!"

Yu Holea furrowed her brows she has seen this girl mislead others by telling the wrong story.

According to her story when the old man was getting murdered, by the group of intruders, no one came to help, but the old man still didn’t curse anyone, it was only after that group of intruders played Ouija board that the cemetery become cursed.

In her story, she portrayed the old man as a kind groundskeeper and his daughter who was unjustly treated was too pitiful.

In reality, though there were so many loopholes in this story.

Why were there intruders suddenly? Why did the groundskeeper didn’t call the owner and went on to fight on his own? Why were all the citizens of the village present but didn’t help the groundskeeper? And what did Lily want to do by coming back here?

In actuality, the groundskeeper wasn’t kind at all.

This cemetery was government-owned, and due to the poverty of this village and the low population, the government decided to make it accessible to everyone.

But the groundskeeper kept on charging money from the villagers in the name of his fees even though he was being paid by the government.

Yet after the 1980s, this village was going to be demolished and all the villagers were happy.

They thought that after demolishment they would earn a lot of money.

And since their population is low, each of them also owns a lot of land and house in such a big village.

When the groundskeeper knew about demolishment his first reaction was panic.

After demolishment the cemetery will also be demolished, meaning his job will be lost, and he doesn’t have a house in the village too as the mansion in which he was currently living was allotted to him by the government and he doesn’t have ownership.

So once the cemetery is demolished he will definitely be unemployed and homeless.

To not end up so miserable a vicious plan appeared in the groundskeeper’s mind.

He invited all the citizens of the village to the cemetery in the name of the final bid-off for dead people.

And once everyone came into the cemetery, he asked them to enter the basement of the mansion he was living in.

At first, many people were confused and some even claimed that they won’t go in.

However, the groundskeeper assured them by entering the basement first.

Seeing this many believed him and entered the basement, when everyone arrived inside the light went off, and before anyone could realize the groundskeeper left and basement and locked them in.

The villagers were shocked and outraged, demanding to be released, but the groundskeeper threatened to harm them if they didn’t comply.

He wanted to create a scenario where they all died inside the cursed cemetery so that this cemetery doesn’t get demolished.

But as he was doing so a bright idea appeared in his mind.

And he changes his tactics, he started torturing the villagers by not providing them with food, if they want food they have to hand out their property.

At the start, no one agreed, but slowly some started obeying and signed the property.

The groundskeeper was so happy that he almost danced.

Of course, not everyone from the village was present here but there were at least 30 or so people, meaning at least 6 to 7 households.

Their village had only 12 households.

If he can get the property their property, he would be a rich lord shortly.

Of course, many people asked him, where did the other villagers go.

At that time, the groundskeeper just acts as if he has gone crazy and says rubbish things.

Everyone felt that he might have gone crazy and from then on a rumor started.

The rumor stated that a bloodbath happened and in just one day 30 people disappeared.

For days, the villagers were trapped inside, living in fear and desperation.

They tried to find a way to escape, but the groundskeeper was vigilant, keeping watch over them.

As the situation grew dire, many villagers started dying.

Now the groundskeeper was panicking.

It wasn’t his original intention to kill these villagers but now...

Just as he was thinking what to one of the villagers was able to escape without his notice.

By the time the groundskeeper realized it, it was already too late.

Some policeman arrived at the cemetery and arrested him.

While the remaining 10 or so villagers were freed from the basement, they coldly watched as the groundskeeper begged them to not press charges against him.

And this is how the news that while the group of ’intruders’ (policemen) ’killed’(arrested) the groundskeeper all the villagers just quietly watched them.

Who was the one who started this rumor, it was Lily.

She smartly converted all the things in a wrong manner and yet at the same time she killed all the remaining 10 villagers by using Black Magic.

Yu Holea knew about this Black Magic stuff from Miyo City, but she never thought that black magic could be so powerful.
