Glamour and Sass: A Rejected Bride's Revenge-Chapter 58: You have two children
Chapter 58: You have two children
Cecilia was unaware of the crisis Elena’s company was currently going through. Although she had vaguely heard Mary mention it once or twice, Elena always brushed it off whenever she tried probing with a few questions, saying it was nothing to worry about. Thus, Cecilia did not ask further.
The medicine prescription she had was passed down from Adrian, and it was specifically emphasized that only the Keller family disciples should use it. She obtained these few packs only after applying through Adrian.
Naturally, she couldn’t reveal the prescription.
She shook her head and said, "It’s just something I mixed up myself. Even I didn’t expect it would work so well with you."
Elena continued to ask, "Could you tell me the formula?"
‘If this formula leaks out, Old Ari would nag me to death! Besides, Great-aunt and Great-uncle are already cured, so there’s no need for that anymore. If she needs it again later, I can just give her some more.’
Cecilia spoke with a hint of regret, "This is just a few leftover packs I used before, so there’s no formula for it."
Disappointment flashed in Elena’s eyes. Alas, she had no choice but to continue researching.
Mary raised her voice, disdainfully saying, "I told you, she just got some unqualified product from somewhere. She cured both of you out of sheer luck..."
Before she could finish, James interrupted her.
"Enough. No matter what, Cecilia really did cure us. How can you speak like that? Apologize to her."
He rarely got angry and usually pampered Mary, but the overload of problems these days was getting on his nerves, prompting him to ask Mary to apologize to Cecilia.
Mary looked at him in surprise. ‘Uncle has always been lenient with me, but today he’s making me apologize to that woman?! This bitch is truly cunning!’
She screamed out, "Apologize to her?! Impossible! Over my dead body!"
Cecilia sneered. "No one is interested in your dead body."
She stared at Mary. Her voice wasn’t loud, but it was clear enough for everyone to hear.
"Right now, you should first apologize to Great-aunt."
Words, once spoken, are like spilled water—impossible to gather again. And some things, once broken, are not so easily mended.
The relationship between Mary and Elena was just like that.
Mary’s face turned red. Elena indeed had been training her as a successor over the years, but she only looked like someone scheming against her now.
Mary stuttered, "W-Why should I apologize?"
As she said that, she looked at the tightly clasped hands of Cecilia and Elena and became more determined.
"What you said only proves that your medicine can cure someone, not that my previous doubts were unfounded! You’re a fickle, cheating woman who got abandoned by your own fiancé. And now you have the audacity to take over the business I’ve spent decades building?"
Her finger pointed at Elena. "And you! I’ve called you Aunt for so many years, but this is how you treat me? I see, sooner or later, you will meet the same fate as being abandoned by Uncle!"
Slap!
No sooner had she finished speaking did James slapped her hard across the face. freewebnσvel.cøm
He was so angry he could hardly stand, and Cecilia hurriedly supported him.
"You... you unfilial daughter! Get out, as far as possible!"
Mary was stunned by the slap. When she regained her senses, she glared fiercely at the three people in front of her.
"Fine! I’ll leave; let’s see if your business can continue without me!"
Her words weren’t entirely without merit. Despite only managing a small factory, since Elena and James were aging, she had taken on a lot of responsibilities in the company’s data and business matters.
With the recent public turmoil around the factory, they were indeed struggling.
However, they had never planned on discussing this with Cecilia and didn’t want to burden her with their problems.
Once Cecilia confirmed that Elena and James had fully recovered, she went on to handle their discharge.
In the hospital corridor, she ran into the specialist Mary had consulted last time, who worked at this hospital.
He excitedly told her as he held the report, "Miss Morrison, the medicine you gave last time is amazing. It could potentially cure many occupational diseases caused by factory production. I’m considering a mass production of it!"
Cecilia was startled. How did he get this medicine?

Meanwhile, Steven was in his office at the corporation, immersed in work.
Ethan had come in and left his office several times already.
Steven clenched his fists, his impatience finally taking over him. As Ethan came in again to refill his coffee, Steven shouted at him, "Enough! What exactly do you want?!"
If he drank any more coffee, he would not be able to sleep for the next three days.
Startled by Steven’s shout, Ethan fidgeted where he stood.
In truth, he had come to tattle.
His thesis had been rejected by his advisor yet again this semester. The mustached old man was furious, pointing at him. "What kind of garbage is this? Just wait, I’ll inform your brother about this!"
If he really told Steven, he would surely be done for...
So, he was thinking of any possible way to salvage the situation.
However, the only thing he could think of was to tell Steven that he had another kid. He hoped that, although he would not gain any merit from doing so, his effort could at least serve as a form of compensation.
With that, he abruptly said, "Big Brother, actually... You have two children!"
