Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle-Chapter 611: The Pond
[ High-Purity Mana Crystal: A crystal infused with pure mana even without refinement. It can be used as a pure mana source, for enchantments, for soul energy recovery, and for spirit energy recovery.
Mana Units Available: 20,000 ]
With 20,000 units of Mana inside one crystal, it was no wonder Otto and Sona were confident of winning this small fight against the undead creatures.
After all, their Spells only use about 50 to 80 units of mana. With just a single Mana Stone, they were confident enough to pulverize these creatures…
However, the two didn't overdo it. Instead, they decided to give the elves and the other soldiers some actions to hone their fighting skills.
Soon, they watched as the elves approached the Undead Creatures and fought with their swords and arrows.
After that, the soldiers that Shane had recruited used the vehicles and plowed into the horde!
Bam! Bam! Bam!
The armored vehicles were unstoppable as they crushed the Ghouls and Skeletons that were unable to escape quickly.
However, since there were still a lot of them, the soldiers finally used the turrets and mowed down skeletons with incendiary rounds, turning them into walking torches.
Just like that, the combined assault of the group crushed ghouls into paste…
One of the Armored Vehicles was actually called "The Bone Crusher." It was one of the finest creations they had. It had a spiked roller attached to its front and it left a trail of pulverized skeletons in its path…
Thanks to such tools and weapons, the battle became a lot easier…
Only a few ghouls slipped through the rampage of the armored vehicles as they sprinted on all fours toward the elves.
"Alright… This is enough…" Sona said as she felt that the Necromancers were just testing the waters and they weren't seriously planning to attack them right now…
Sona then snapped her fingers, and the creatures froze solid… This frozen status could only last for 3 or 5 seconds but it was more than enough for Otto…
Boom!
The frozen ghouls shattered as Otto threw some fireballs at them.
"Boring," Otto muttered. "I was hoping for a golem or something."
***
From the wall, Shane watched the last skeleton collapse into a pile of bones…
Total time elapsed: 8 minutes.
'That's quick…' Shane thought as he tried to sense the presence of the Necromancers.
There were only three Necromancers, and it seemed that they weren't really that strong. The Ghouls and Skeletons they sent out were just here, perhaps to get information about the strength of his shelter.
Well, it wasn't really that surprising to send some sacrifices, since his shelter was indeed quite intimidating with tall walls, turrets, barriers, and other mounted defenses.
At this time, Shane's radio buzzed once again. "Area secured, Commander. No casualties. Just some scorched paint on Rig 4."
The report came from Sona and it seemed that none of the Armored Vehicles or Rigs were damaged.
Shane smiled at this report and gave his order. "Good. Fall back."
As he saw the team regrouped, he glanced west, where the Necromancers were hiding…
'This was just the first wave…' Shane thought as he believed that those Necromancers would come back once again, and with a larger force.
In the meantime, within the shelter, almost everyone wasn't worried about the attack. This was definitely true, especially after knowing that the armored vehicles with elves and the magicians were sent to deal with them.
There were only a few curious people who had decided to observe the battle from atop the wall.
Seeing that the battle was over, these curious people reported what had happened back to the shelter, as they would use this as a conversation topic while drinking.

Silver Mine Camp.
"I hope I find some good ones today…" Diana said as she wiped the sweat from her brow with the back of her hand, leaving a smudge of dirt across her forehead.
She was currently in her forge in the Silver Mine Camp and she had just completed the batch of weapons she had to craft for the week.
To be exact, she had to create 50 weapons a week! With her specific talent, strength, agility, special hammer, and other upgraded tools, it wasn't really an impossible task.
If she worked harder and reduced her sleep from 8 hours to 5 hours, she could probably make 30% more.
However, she decided to just stick to the number that Shane gave her. As for the time she had left, she would use it to enjoy her day or perhaps create a weapon or item that she wanted to make instead of those she was obligated to make.
In any case, Diana hurriedly removed her leather apron after completing her task.
The forge's heat still clung to her skin as she stepped out into the cooler air before going to the Portal to visit the Eclipse Domain and find some more ores.
Anyway, she couldn't just take a bath right away and the Eclipse Domain was also filled with the scent of fuel anyway...
Even if her arms still ached from hours of hammering, she knew that she had to do this as she was worried that the new ores might no longer be available in the market.
As she passed through the portal, Diana felt a bit excited… She was also hopeful that her visit today would bear fruit. After all, she was planning to advance her Smithing Skill, and there was only one way to do that: to craft a high-grade item.
It was certainly impossible to do this unless she could use higher-grade items. Creating Epic Grade or Legendary Grade items was simply too difficult with only silver, copper, or gold ores.
'If only I had better materials' Diana thought as she greeted the guard stationed at the portal before heading straight to the market.
The merchants' stalls were still bustling as usual, but after inspecting their wares, Diana could only frown.
The ores they offered—iron, low-grade steel, even a few chunks of copper—were serviceable, but nothing extraordinary.
She needed something rarer, something that could hold enchantments without cracking under pressure.
Still, she wasn't one to leave empty-handed. After looking for some time, she found an elf selling precious ore items!
"Are you Shane's recruit?" Diana suddenly asked as she had never seen an elf that wasn't from Shane's Recruitment Stones.
"I am… I learned a bit of alchemy, and I've been transforming some gems and other ores into some other mystical stones. Shane said that I could sell them here." The elf replied.
After some haggling, she secured a few decent pieces:
Dark Iron Chunks ( Rare Grade ) – Good for reinforcing blades.
The description had, of course, come from the merchant selling the items.
Frost-Touched Silver ( Exceptional Grade ) – Precious, but brittle. Perfect for accessories.
Emberstone ( Rare Grade ) – Unstable. It could add a fire enchantment to a weapon.
"Not perfect, but it'll do," she muttered after storing them in her inventory.
"I hope you can produce more, Miss Elf." Diana said as she hoped that she would soon create higher-grade ores.

With her purchases secured, Diana decided to take a detour. She hadn't visited Shane's monument in weeks.
It was a quiet place—a small, man-made pond at the easter region of the shelter, surrounded by smooth stones and a single tree.
It was a tribute to her brother's victories, and a reminder of what they'd built together.
As she approached, she noticed something unusual.
A guard stood at the pond's edge.
Diana blinked seeing this. "Since when did this place need guarding?"
She couldn't help but think that someone tried to vandalize Shane's monument so a guard was now needed to protect it.
Curious, she walked closer—and realized that there was another reason why the guard was stationed here.
Fish.
Not just any fish.
[ Misty Koi ]
"Misty Koi?" Diana couldn't help but feel curious about this fish.
Their scales shimmered like a mist, so that was probably the reason why it had such a name. Furthermore, the sight of them swimming around was mesmerizing, almost otherworldly.
Diana's breath caught. "What in the—?"
The guard, a young man named Harvey, nodded at her. "Lady Diana. Here to admire the koi?"
Diana could no longer ask why he knew her name and simply pointed at the pond.
"Since when do we have magical fish?"
Harvey chuckled. "Commander Shane brought them in a few days ago. Said they were a 'long-term investment.'"
Diana crouched by the water's edge, watching as one of the koi surfaced, its misty fins curling like smoke. "Do they… do anything?"
"Oh, aye." Harvey said. "You can appraise them, Lady Diana."
Diana nodded as she reached out, letting her fingers skim the water. The nearest koi darted forward, brushing against her skin. It was cold.
However, thanks to that, she was able to appraise the fish.
[ Misty Koi: A mysterious koi with mist-like fins. It appears only in sacred waters and can sense impending danger.
Effects: When eaten, it temporarily enhances perception and boosts reaction speed for 30 minutes. Can be refined into Essence of Clarity, a potion used to awaken hidden abilities. ]
