Goodbye, Ex-husband! I'm Pregnant with Your Uncle's Child!-Chapter 65 - The Faint Scent of Perfume
65: Chapter 65: The Faint Scent of Perfume
65 -65: The Faint Scent of Perfume
Thomas Sullivan glanced at Julia Land.
Then he replied to Chloe Sullivan’s call, “As long as you and Mr.
Thompson are doing well, that’s all that matters.
I’m hanging up now.”
He hung up the phone.
Julia Land rested her chin on her hand, squinting her eyes, “There’s a meeting at half past ten.”
Thomas nodded.
Since Chloe had no objections, he wouldn’t interfere on his own.
A man without commitment remains unchanged even if you cut off his temptations.
He himself was a man and hadn’t yet met a woman who could make him commit.
If those two women didn’t care, then he wouldn’t either.
“First, bring me a coffee, please,” Thomas said as he walked into his office.
Julia went to make the coffee and looked down thoughtfully.
After work, she planned to ask James Thompson about Chloe Sullivan in person.
Stay together if things were good, separate otherwise.
It really wasn’t a big deal.
During the lunch break, James Thompson sent a message asking Julia if she wanted to have dinner together that evening.
Julia, “Sure, what time?”
James, “I’ll pick you up at five-thirty.”
Julia, “Okay, I’ll wait for you at Strong Health Technology.”
After replying to James’s message, she checked Arabella Shaw’s schedule; the woman was still in Grace City today.
The corners of Julia’s lips turned up in a smile, and she ordered a trash can, paying ten times the usual price.
She asked the store owner to make the trash packaging beautiful and deliver it to the hotel where Arabella Shaw was staying.
Of course, the gift tag had to say it was from ‘Mr.
Quarter.’
Julia imagined Arabella’s ‘happy’ face upon seeing the trash can, and her eyes crinkled joyfully.
At this time, in the hotel, Arabella had been fuming for half the day because of a post Julia made on Weibo.
Initially, Arabella meant to find trouble for Julia, but the tables had turned unexpectedly.
Sister Wilson received a call from the front desk about a package for Arabella sent by Mr.
Quarter.
She personally went downstairs to pick it up.
The package might cheer Arabella up.
Arabella, seeing that the package was sent by Noah Quarter, felt slightly better.
“Pack up, I’m going back to Dunmore City this afternoon.
I miss my baby daughter.”

Sister Wilson saw her improved mood and smiled, “Okay.”
At that moment, Arabella had opened the package and saw a trash can inside.
Her expression immediately darkened, “Who sent this package?
Go and ask the front desk for a description of the person.”
Sister Wilson also looked displeased.
She had thought it was a gift from Director Quarter, but it turned out to be a trash can, “Could it be a gift from an anti-fan?”
Arabella held the trash can, “It might also be Julia.”
Julia had not intended to hide information with the trash can.
If anyone wanted to investigate, they could go ahead.
“Never mind, don’t bother checking now.
Whether it’s from Julia or not, she’s responsible for starting this issue.”
Arabella threw the trash can on the floor, certain that more opportunities would arise to deal with Julia.
Mr.
Thompson couldn’t always side with Julia.
At the last banquet, she had seen James Thompson getting quite close to Miss Sullivan.
Julia wouldn’t be pleased for long.
**
By the end of the workday, as it was nearly half-past five, Julia packed up her things and went downstairs to wait for James Thompson.
Just as she walked out of the main door, she spotted James sitting in his car.
His gaze swept to the entrance and landed on her.
James smiled and got out of the car, walking towards her.
He reached her, took her bag, and Julia felt a flutter in her chest as she looked up at him and smiled.
“Where would you like to eat?” James asked.
“How about Sichuan cuisine?” Julia proposed after a moment of thought.
James nodded, “Your choice.”
Julia couldn’t help but smile, feeling the experience of dating.
Today, she wore a wine-red, knee-length bodycon dress with thin straps.
She wore a necklace around her neck.
They were close enough to smell the light scent of her perfume.
James opened the car door, letting her into the passenger seat.
Large hands pressed against the back of her head.
Thin lips landed on the corner of her lips.
After a while, he released her and closed the car door.
Julia Land licked her red lips, sat sideways, and fastened her seatbelt as James Thompson got into the car.
On the road, Julia browsed her phone.
She looked down at her phone and searched online for an introduction to Sichuan cuisine, “Sichuan cuisine, one of the eight major Chinese cuisines, is famous for its spicy and rich cooking techniques.”
“You really know a lot, Little Pear,” the man praised in a low voice as he drove.
Julia rolled her eyes at him with a smile, “I looked it up on the internet.”
James Thompson’s lips curved up, and he had Assistant Winters look up nearby famous Sichuan restaurants.
They drove for half an hour to the restaurant.
The two of them didn’t choose to reserve a private room but picked a table by the window.
Julia wanted to eat something spicy, so she ordered mostly spicy dishes.
Seeing that she ordered all spicy dishes, James Thompson added two non-spicy dishes for her.
While waiting for the dishes, the restaurant served the coconut drink Julia had ordered.
Julia looked at James, propped her chin with one hand, biting on the straw, took a couple of sips, and asked something she wanted to know.
“Can I ask, what is your relationship with Miss Sullivan?
Is she your arranged marriage partner?
Or is she your kept woman?”
James Thompson rolled up his sleeves, unwrapped the plastic around the chopsticks, and looked up at Julia, “She’s my friend’s girlfriend.
You are the only woman for me.”
At that moment, the waiter brought the dishes to the table, and their conversation stopped.
The only feeling while enjoying the Sichuan cuisine was the numbness of the tongue from the spiciness.
Delicious.
After they finished eating, James drove her home.
Julia felt her tongue was not quite her own, “So numb.”
James looked at her amusedly, “That’s what you get for ordering very spicy.”
“I just wanted to eat it.”
Her lips, because of the spicy food, turned even redder.
Very captivating.
James’s eyes deepened.
He pulled over to the side of the road, unfastened his seatbelt, and leaned over to pinch her chin.
He just intended to give her a light kiss.
But he couldn’t stop.
Both were moved.
He left a red mark on her shoulder.
If it wasn’t for the inappropriate location,
He figured he would have made her cry right there.
The car started again, heading toward the Sincere Heart Community Building.
Julia paused, feeling her tongue grow even more numb.
When they reached the community building, she didn’t invite him up.
She unfastened her seatbelt, gave him a look, and walked away.
James Thompson smiled silently.
**
Noah Quarter once again saw the photos sent by the person he had sent to follow Julia Land.
She and James Thompson were embracing and kissing in the car.
He quietly looked at the photos for a few seconds, his eyes and eyebrows showing a hint of cold ferocity.
Alexander Strong noticed Noah’s subtly disturbed mood, finding it a bit strange.
“Our people can’t find out who posted that photo online,” Alexander said.”
They didn’t investigate when Julia first started getting criticized, but now that the situation has reversed, they can’t find anything.
Noah Quarter nodded slightly, asked Alexander to leave, and then called Julia.
After making the call, he found that his number had been blocked.
Noah’s expression darkened, and he switched to using the company’s phone.
Julia was having a facial treatment and saw the caller ID.
Having once been Noah’s secretary, she recognized it as his office number.
“Julia Land.”
His voice was as cold as ever.
“Is this online thing a drama you staged yourself?
Are you trying to embarrass Arabella and me?”
Julia arched an eyebrow and scoffed, “A mental hospital is waiting for both of you to check in.”
She calmly said this and hung up the phone.
Right after she hung up on Noah’s call, her phone vibrated.
It was a WeChat friend request.
The requester’s note read, Chloe Sullivan.
