Gravity Mage with Level-Up System-Chapter 1835: Gary Crest (Crest Family)
SunHaven City
I watched the scene outside through the window as buildings of different sizes passed by.
The cab driver drove smoothly. My gaze fell on buildings from both the old and new eras.
I wondered where the important locations of the forbidden area were situated. I had come here because of the banned items.
I had to hand them over to the Forbidden Wizard, Erwin.
I hadn’t been able to find their secrets.
If I could find another item or clue here, it would be good. I had a hunch that it would be beneficial for my growth.
I was already experiencing steady growth, but I was looking for a special magical place where I could comprehend the power of the gravity rule.
A few minutes later,
The cab driver dropped me off in front of the administration building. I stepped outside and paid the fare. Once he left, I started walking around the square.
The city administration building occupied a huge space in the square. There were no other buildings nearby, and I could see that the place was quiet.
My gaze fell on the administration building; it was a large, wide, multi-story structure. I didn’t know how many departments were housed there.
As I looked around, I noticed visitors from other cities as well, all appreciating the architecture.
I shifted my gaze and found a good viewpoint to observe from. I had a feeling that this location was not ordinary. Why is there such a gap? I wondered.
Then, I used the system’s probe function.
[Ding! Hidden underground area detected.]
[Ding! The entrance is protected by multiple magic formations.] 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
The system’s voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, my heart stirred. I was right after all. Perhaps the important buildings were built over dangerous places.
It would be hard to enter those places without permission.
Even if I used my real identity, why would they allow me to enter hidden, dangerous locations? Since the administration building was impossible to explore, I had to look elsewhere.
Maybe I could find unexplored places with the help of the system.
After figuring that out, I left the area.
Shortly afterwards,
I found another cab driver and told him to take me to the important places in the city, especially those related to the city administration and the Magic Towers.
The driver was taken aback; he hadn’t expected to hear such a request. Seeing the driver’s doubtful gaze, I coughed and said, "I’m planning to live here, so I want to know how big the city is."
The driver immediately understood that the guest wanted to gauge the strength of the city.
While driving, he said, "Guest, SunHaven City is one of the strongholds of the Flame Elemental Tower. You shouldn’t worry about your safety. You can live here without a care."
"Ha... Ha... Ha... Yes, yes," I said with a laugh.
...
Sun Crest Hotel
A few black cars arrived in front of the hotel. The middle-aged man and woman from the admin desk were standing outside, waiting for their young master’s arrival. When they saw the cars, they stood upright.
Creak.
A car door opened, and a red-haired, middle-aged man stepped out. He stood six feet tall with a tanned skin tone and a lean physique.
His gaze was fiery and his pupils were red, matching his hair. He looked like someone on the verge of an explosion.
His name was Gary Crest, a Supreme Wizard of the Flame Elemental Tower and the Crest family. The family-run hotel was under his control.
No one had caused problems there before because his identity played an important role.
By using underhanded methods, he had discovered the secrets of many wizards and used them to his advantage.
But today, someone had destroyed the gadgets in one of the rooms. His mood was foul. He walked into the hotel with his men, the admin staff following close behind.
He turned toward the staff; both the male and female employees shuddered. It wasn’t their fault, but they still feared the young master’s mood.
"Give me the spare key," Gary said to them.
The male staff member immediately brought the key. Gary Crest went to room 210 alone. He wanted to verify something.
Once he was gone, the male staff member sighed in relief. He had been worried the young master would take his anger out on him, but his worry was for nothing.
The female staff member tried to calm her racing heart. The people who had arrived with Gary Crest stayed behind as backup.
They didn’t know who had caused the trouble, as no one had ever dared to act against the Crest family before.
Meanwhile, Gary Crest entered room 210. He looked inside; the room appeared normal.
He knew exactly where the spy cams were located and began searching the spots one by one. He checked the wall behind the bed and found nothing.
Ten minutes later,
He left the room, surprised. No spy cams were found. It showed that the person staying there had destroyed them.
Those spy cams were state-of-the-art; you wouldn’t find them unless you were deliberately using mental power. They were tiny and expensive.
Gary was now truly angry. Anyone in their right mind would have left the hotel after finding them. No one would want to go against the Crest family.
They were part of the Flame Elemental Tower, and he himself was an official member. Gary collected his thoughts and went back to the lobby.
Both staff members stood at attention.
"Who was the person staying in that room? Did he check out?" Gary asked.
"Young master, he gave a name, but I don’t think it’s true. The person seemed to have left earlier in a cab," the male staff member replied.
Gary realized the person hadn’t officially checked out.
"If he comes back, inform me. I’ll be in my room." After saying that, Gary left.
Both staff members nodded. They looked at each other, sensing that something big was about to happen.
