Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 868: Crazed Following
Chapter 868: Crazed Following
Uptown Quarter, Ravenfell.
The following day, the streets of this district were as bustling as ever.
Although this area of the city was occupied solely by lavish manors of the city’s aristocracy—and a handful of fancy, very expensive restaurants—the tourists still came to visit it.
It was the home to the Dark King, after all.
Shortly after the construction of Adam’s new estate, people from all over the city—and now all over Ulier—gathered in front of the gates of his sprawling compound, hoping to catch a glimpse of... well, anything.
Despite knowing that the Dark King wasn’t currently present in Ravenfell, the people still hoped that maybe they might witness a miracle.
Maybe he would arrive suddenly?
Or who knows? Perhaps, he had been inside his manor all along, simply waiting to surprise the people of Ravenfell on the eve of the Grand Magus Tournament.
This caused the security around his estate to increase significantly. And the entire estate was being guarded by none other than the Magi of the Black Legion.
Every day, hundreds of people gathered outside the gates of the estate, marveling at its beauty and opulence.
At a simple glance, it was evident that a great deal of money and resources had gone into building this magnificent property.
Today was no different. A large crowd had gathered once again. Some faces were new, some old.
A large number of them were Mana Foundation Magi, followed by Mana Liquefaction Magi. There weren’t any Mana Vortex Magi, however. Perhaps, they thought that crowding in front of the Dark King’s estate in such a manner would be a blow to their prestige.
It was evident just how famous the Dark King was, considering the growing number of people who gathered around the main gates every day.
They constantly pestered the guards in black armour, annoying them with countless, repetitive questions:
’When is the Dark King coming?’
’Is the Dark King already home?’
’How old is the Dark King truly?’
’Is the Dark King single?’
’If not, who is the red-haired woman who entered the estate the other day?’
’Are you sure they are siblings?’
The members of the Black Legion could swear that fighting magical beasts and monsters was far easier than dealing with the Dark King’s fans day in and day out.
While most of the crowd gathered directly in front of the main gates, a few stood across the street, gazing at the manor from afar.
Amongst them was a towering middle-aged man with a sturdy physique. He had short, dark hair and a thick beard of the same color. He wore black and gray robes, giving him a solid and dependable appearance.
On his shoulders sat a young boy with his feet dangling around the man’s neck. The boy stared at the Constantine Estate with bright and shining eyes. "It’s so big!"
"Haha, that it is," said the middle-aged man. "I think this might be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, properties in this quarter."
Inwardly, he sighed. The Dark King must truly be a wealthy man...
Beside him, another young boy looked up to him and asked excitedly, "Father, do you think we can get to meet the Dark King?!"
"Yes, yes, father!" The boy sitting on the man’s shoulders excitedly tugged at his hair. "Let’s meet the Dark King! The Dark King!"
The middle-aged man’s lips twitched. "Joseph... Zachary... do you know just what kind of man the Dark King is?"
Joseph, the one sitting on the man’s shoulder, vigorously nodded his head. "He is the best Magi in the city! No, the best Magi in this world! That is why we have to meet him!"
"Yes, father!" Zachary grabbed the man’s hand. "You’re participating in the tournament! Shouldn’t it be easy for you to meet him?"
Michael Isaac, a Mana Liquefaction Magus unaffiliated with any of the great factions, didn’t know whether to laugh or cry after listening to the enthusiastic words of his dear sons.
In the end, he shook his head and sighed heavily. "Alright, alright, I’ll see what I can do."
"Yay!!" Joseph threw his hands in the air and excitedly shouted, "My father is the best! He is the strongest! He will win the Grand Magus Tournament! Hehehe, all of you watch your ba—mph!"
Michael quickly covered his son’s mouth and hurriedly turned around to leave. He felt slightly embarrassed with so many people watching.
"Alright boys, let’s go fishing!"

Within the Constantine Estate, in the backyard by the small pond surrounded by white daffodils, Anna lounged on a recliner chair, basking the warmth of the sun.
Hearing the soft clamour coming from the direction of the main gates, the crimson-haired princess of the Ignisra Kingdom couldn’t help but shake her head with a wry smile.
"These people sure are lively today," she murmured.
Rowan, who stood beside her, chuckled lightly, "Their numbers seem to grow as the day of the tournament draws near, my lady."
Anna hummed in response, her gaze fixed on the white daffodils blooming by the pond. "I wonder what Adam did to garner such a crazed following. I did not expect this at all." freeweɓnovel.cøm
Rowan simply smiled. He knew everything Adam had done since he set foot in Ravenfell. In fact, he had already recounted the raven-haired youth’s tales to Anna, more than once.
But he was curious to know something else. However, he hesitated to speak.
"Out with it," said the princess, her tone calm but leaving no room for refusal. She had already sensed his hesitance.
"My Lady... what was the Master like in his youth?"
Hearing that question, Anna smiled warmly.
She continued to gaze at the white flowers at her feet, and then, asked a question of her own.
"Do you know why Adam picked these flowers?"
Rowan was perplexed. He shook his head. "I’m afraid not, my lady. At the time, I believe Master just mentioned it in passing."
He paused for a moment before curiously asking, "Is there a deeper meaning behind these daffodils?"
"Yes." Anna nodded.
"They were his mother’s favourite."
