40 Chapter 40 – First IRL Livestream [3]
'She's just watching.' Max thought as he stole a glance at the girl who suddenly approached him. 'She was the one doing the pull-up earlier. Is she truly interested in wall run? Why?'
After doing a few successful wall run, Max was exhausted and decided to end the livestream after he promised to continue Knight's Journey tonight. Everyone was content with it, and some viewers even donated to him.
And not only that, there were actually two bottles of chilled drinks she bought from the nearby vending machine. Watching him finish with the wall run, she stood from the bench and approached him again, handing him one bottle.
"For you." She said in a calm tone.
Max was slightly confused and wary of the girl, so he didn't take the water bottle immediately. Then she added,
"As thanks. I also want to try wall run, and now I might be able to. So, here… lesson fee."
That sounded like someone he met and knew yesterday. Max couldn't help but smile as he received the water.
"Thank you."
"Un." The girl nodded, "Then, I will leave. See you."
Max watched her turn around and leave just as she said—no other conversation, and she knew how to respect his privacy. She didn't even introduce herself, which was natural as he was streaming earlier.
'That's really out of my expectation.' Max thought as he looked at his hand, which held a cold water. He opened the lid, which was still sealed, and gulped a few times to quench his thirst.
"Fuu…" He sighed; the water worked. It cooled his body down.
"Well, that was some kind of experience. Can't say I am not happy with a beautiful girl talking to me, but yeah… I probably won't even meet her again."
Max walked back to his apartment after putting the camera and the microphone into his pocket. His first IRL livestream was a small success, with around 800 viewers at the peak. It was just 50 minutes long and not really that memorable except when he succeeded on his fifth try.
But tonight's livestream would be different.
'I am not allowed to get hit. This will be a hard one.'
No damage! Knight's Journey's new route walkthrough!
Max had already decided on tonight's livestream title.
And as he walked toward his apartment, he got a message from Flexy.
[Flexy: Hey, my friend! Sorry to get to you this late! But I have transferred the lesson and appearance fees to your bank account. Hahaha, check it and tell me if it's not in yet.]
When he read Flexy called him his friend, Max smiled softly. If he truly meant it, then he was the first friend he made in this world.
Anyway, he checked his bank account and found the transfer history. When he looked at it, his eyes widened in surprise, and he typed the reply at lightning speed.
[Breeze: Are you sure you are giving me this much?! No, I believe you typed the 0 too much!]
Max didn't really hope that Flexy would reply to him soon, but his expectation was wrong. He actually got the reply just a few seconds later.
[Flexy: AH?! Did I? I believe I inputted it correctly. It should be $15,000. Did I accidentally send 150 thousand instead?]
Once again, Max was speechless. It seemed like the amount he received wasn't wrong, and Flexy actually sent him that much money.
[Breeze: No, it's $15,000. But isn't it too much for my appearance fee? Like… I already got your help growing my viewers too. I am happy enough with that. Not to mention, you already donated to my stream yesterday for the lesson fee.]
[Flexy: Don't sell yourself short, bro! That donation is just to hype our livestream up. Also, I think you deserve that much. Just don't be bored playing with me in the future, hahaha! Use it to buy some supplements so you can play longer!]
Well, Max understood where Flexy came from. Friendship and connection with other streamers were important. Maybe it was because the guy himself was already kind, that he didn't mind spending much for his friend or the person he liked, but Breeze was also growing at a fast pace.
If considering it as an investment for the future to have collaboration livestream again, then spending that much money probably was not that much.
'And he asks me to buy supplements instead.' Max smiled at the message and typed his reply.
[Breeze: Thanks, Flexy.]
[Flexy: No need to mention it!]

Inside a dark condo, an orange-haired man looked at his chat with his new friend and smiled.
"Well, I should be the one who thank you, Breeze." He said as he leaned back against his bean bag, letting his body sink. "My odds of winning this program just increased. And I might be partnered with you if Biozone Entertainment's team isn't stupid."
On his stream yesterday, Flexy realized that Breeze might've also been invited to the program. A newbie who broke 1,000 viewers in his third streaming day was probably unheard of, especially since that newbie streamed Knight's Journey and not other games with a bigger audience.
As a streamer who did his research, helped by his manager Lisa, to grow his channel, he would definitely invite Breeze as he was the recent sensation in the Knighted Lobby and Knight's Journey community.
'His name still appears frequently on the forum. I wonder why he asked the question about what he can expect from the Knight's Journey plot earlier, but well… Maybe he just wants to enjoy the game without spoilers.' Flexy thought as he scrolled down the Knight's Journey community forum with a soft smile.
'There is even a clip from his IRL stream just now. Some people are worried. I agree that he needs additional nutritional supplements. His body is too skinny. I thought it was just his avatar, but it turned out to be his real body's condition.''
Originally, Flexy only planned to send $3,000 to Breeze. But after having a fun stream with him yesterday and actually seeing his body's condition through the stream, he felt bad for his new friend and wanted to help him a little bit.
'After all, we will be partners soon if my guess is on point.'
Flexy's lips curled up into a smile.
At that moment, the door of his room opened automatically, and his manager, Lisa, entered. He raised his head and looked over the chair.
"Do you get the list, Lisa?" He asked curiously as Lisa stopped beside the chair with a stern look.
Her sharp brown eyes bore through Flexy behind her glasses that shined mysteriously as she pushed them up.
"Biozone Entertainment's marketing team leader has sent me. This is the list of the participants that will be announced in two days."
Lisa operated her smartwatch and opened a document. A hologram screen appeared before her, and she swiped it, moving it so Flexy could read the content.
The documents had a list of Knight's Journey programs. Flexy got the list first because he was one of the veteran streamers. And the names written in documents were like this.
Veteran Streamers: StoneSword, Flexy, RoninKnight
Newbie Streamers: Breeze, LilyPixel, Madlad
"Aha! Hahaha, it's just as I expected."
Reading the list, Flexy laughed out loud. StoneSword and LilyPixel, there was no way Biozone Entertainment wouldn't invite them, as they were the current world record holder for the Fort Siege.
But that wasn't Flexy's concern.
"The marketing team is not a fool. I know that he will be invited." He smiled, swiping his hand to close the document, and looked at Lisa. "Who do you think they will pair me with, Lisa?" fre ewebno vel.com
"It's obvious." She answered with a cold tone, looking down at her boss, "It will be Breeze. They definitely watched your stream with him. That was funny, and many people liked it."
"Thought so." He smirked and continued his nap, closing his eyes. "Wake me up later when I need to stream."
"Why are you so useless like a pig?" Lisa clicked her tongue and muttered.
Flexy, who couldn't really make out what she had said, raised his voice, "What?"
"Nothing." She shook her head and smiled softly, "Have a nice nap."
"O-Oh, alright. I thought you called me a pig."
"That's just your imagination." Her smile widened, turning scarier as the second passed. Then she turned around and left, leaving Flexy to look at her with fear.
When the door was closed, he sighed and closed his eyes again.
