Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill-Chapter 122: The Fisherman’s Profit
In mid-air, Wilder and Lei An clashed.
Li Wei stood on his Shadow Attendant, hiding at the edge of the underground river to observe the battle.
He was sitting back, watching the tigers fight.
The Golden Anteater was on a rampage because the Shadow Attendant had left, returning control to the beast itself.
Now, the Golden Anteater had fallen into the underground river and disappeared from sight.
Li Wei found it a pity. ’The pig I fattened up ran off before I could slaughter it.’
’But if I can get that entire chunk of Secret Silver Ore, it’ll definitely be worth it.’
Li Wei looked up. The battle was still raging.
Lei An shattered a Fireball with a swing of his sword.
KABOOM!
The light from the explosion instantly illuminated the area above the underground river.
WHOOSH! Shards of Armor fell from Lei An’s body, disappearing into the river below.
He used the force of the blast to propel himself back toward the cave entrance.
SCRAPE!
His right hand, straight as a blade, plunged into the stone wall, forcefully halting his fall.
"Lei An, give up," Wilder advised. "You can’t fly. Fighting me for the ore is a death sentence."
Lei An sneered. "Confident, are we? Let’s see how long that lasts."
Like an ape, he scrambled and leaped along the cliff face, returning to the cave entrance in moments.
WHOOSH!
Lei An hurled a rock at Wilder.
Wilder hastily dodged.
BANG!
The rock struck the Secret Silver Ore, shattering into dust from the immense force.
The Secret Silver Ore swayed, threatening to fall into the underground river.
Seeing this, Wilder’s heart clenched. He quickly shouted, "What do you think you’re doing?"
"If the ore falls, no one gets it!"
Lei An hefted another stone in his hand. "Give me half the Secret Silver Ore," he said, "or no one gets any."
Wilder’s expression darkened as he saw Lei An raise the stone.
He quickly said, "Alright, alright! You can have half."
"Come on over. I promise I won’t attack you," Wilder said.
Lei An didn’t trust him. "You come here," he said.
There was no way Wilder would go near him.
DRIP!
WHOOSH!
A long, scarlet tongue shot out from the darkness, striking Wilder.
It sent him flying.
Seeing this, Lei An’s eyes lit up.
’A perfect chance!’
He leaped over without a moment’s hesitation.
Wilder slammed into the cliff face, the Wind Elf Wings on his back nearly dissipating.
He turned to look.
He saw that the Golden Anteater, which had fallen into the dark river earlier, had returned.
The water dripping from the Golden Anteater’s body proved that it had indeed fallen into the river but had managed to climb back out.
Li Wei had spotted the Golden Anteater the moment it climbed out of the river.
But he didn’t make a sound, continuing to watch the battle in silence.
The Golden Anteater held a grudge against Wilder.
WHOOSH!
Its long tongue shot out like a whip, attempting to wrap around Wilder and drag him forward.
Wilder hastily cast a spell.
"Flying Object Reflection Technique!"
BANG!
The long tongue struck an air wall in front of Wilder and was instantly reflected toward Lei An, who was in mid-air.
With this move, Wilder killed two birds with one stone.
Lei An was struck by the long tongue.
THUMP!
The long tongue pierced Lei An’s tattered Armor, striking his chest with the sound of a drumstick hitting a drum.
Lei An quickly grabbed hold of the tongue to keep from falling.
SWOOSH!
The Golden Anteater yanked Lei An toward it, ready to take a bite.
Lei An slammed a headbutt into the Golden Anteater’s nose.
CRUNCH!
The Golden Anteater’s nose was instantly knocked crooked.
Lei An released his grip, kicked off the Golden Anteater, and leaped over to the Secret Silver Ore.
Reeling from the vicious blow to a vital spot, the Golden Anteater was too stunned to react for a moment.
When Wilder saw that the Golden Anteater had not only failed to stop Lei An but had actually delivered him to his destination, he cursed inwardly.
’Useless beast!’
’Just as stupid as your master!’
Wilder raised his hand. The Magic Ring shattered, unleashing its final Magic.
WHOOSH!
KABOOM!
A Fireball struck the ore, shattering it into pieces.
Lei An’s expression turned incomparably grim.
Flying in the air, Wilder caught the falling pieces of Secret Silver Ore.
From ten meters away, Wilder looked at Lei An and said, "You still have half the ore over there. Let’s call it quits!"
Lei An glanced at the remaining half of the ore. He couldn’t see any gleam of Mithril within it.
Although the piece of ore looked large, the amount of Mithril it contained was minuscule.
Basically, the two chunks of Secret Silver Ore in Wilder’s hands were the entire prize.
The other half was just the outer crust—useless stone.
Lei An swung his sword, its blade coated in Fighting Spirit, and shattered the ore.
He obtained a small, fist-sized piece of Secret Silver Ore.
Looking at the Secret Silver Ore in his hand, Lei An turned his head toward Wilder.
The two pieces in Wilder’s hands were much larger than his.
"Give me the ore you’re holding," Lei An demanded.
Wilder ignored him, turned, and flew away.
Lei An snatched up a nearby rock and hurled it at Wilder.
Wilder, who had been expecting an attack, was not hit this time.
SPLASH!
The rock landed in the river, sending water splashing everywhere.
WHOOSH!
A long tongue shot toward Lei An.
Lei An reacted swiftly, slashing out with his sword. It struck the incredibly tough tongue but failed to sever it.
Seeing this, Lei An grabbed the tongue.
TSSSSS!
The Super Acid Liquid, capable of corroding metal, only inflicted minor damage upon contact with Lei An’s skin.
Lei An yanked hard on the tongue, swinging the Golden Anteater like a meteor hammer toward Wilder.
The Golden Anteater struggled, but it was clinging to the cliff face and couldn’t get any leverage.
It was ultimately thrown by Lei An, flying toward Wilder.
WHOOSH!
The heavy whistling of its passage through the air rang out.
Wilder dodged instinctively.
Seeing the dark shape fly past him, he breathed a sigh of relief, glad that he hadn’t been hit.
The next second, the long tongue swept in from the side like a rope, swatting Wilder out of the air.
THUD! THUD!
The Golden Anteater landed on a platform, and Wilder fell not far from Lei An.
Lei An charged.
"Charge!"
"Heavy Cleave!"
He took advantage of the fact that Wilder had just landed and hadn’t yet recovered.
Lei An unleashed a combo attack on Wilder.
BANG! CRACK!
Wilder’s Magic Shield absorbed several hits before finally shattering.
Lei An swung his sword down, intending to kill Wilder.
Wilder instinctively raised a hand to block.
THWACK! SQUELCH!
A silver light flashed around Wilder’s body. The light shattered, and a severed hand flew into the air.
As the silver light faded, Wilder vanished from the spot.
"A Teleportation Scroll?" Lei An’s expression was grimly uncertain.
He looked toward Wilder’s severed hand. It had already fallen into the underground river, and there was no way for him to retrieve it.
He couldn’t fly.
’If I jump down to look for the hand, there’s no guarantee I’ll even find it.’
’The bigger question is whether I’d make it back up alive.’
Lei An turned his head to look at the Golden Anteater.
The Golden Anteater was still dazed from the beating. When it saw Lei An turn to look its way, it instinctively turned to flee.
Only then did Lei An notice that there was an exit path in that direction.
’What a huge loss. All I got was one piece of Secret Silver Ore.’
After Lei An left, a faint blue light emerged from the darkness.
Li Wei slowly flew up to the platform.
Just as he landed, the Shadow Attendant scrambled up the cliff face.
It brought him a severed hand.
It was Wilder’s left hand, severed by Lei An.
It wore two rings.
A Black Stone Ring and a Red Jade Ring.
The Red Jade Ring was already cracked, its Mana Power completely depleted.
It was broken.
The Black Stone Ring was Wilder’s Spatial Ring.
