Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 248: Rong Xian comes knocking (II)
"Because I want to use it to transport water." Ruan Chanchan stated in a matter-of-fact tone.
"What do you mean by transporting water?" Chief Xie was confused after hearing Ruan Chanchan’s response. How were they supposed to transport water with hollowed oak? This was the first time she had heard something like this. Even their ancestors couldn’t come up with such an idea, even when the hollowed oaks had always been in front of them all the time.
"Still don’t understand?" Ruan Chanchan questioned with a tilt of her head.
Both Chief Xie and Priestess Yuan shook their heads in unison. "I am afraid that neither of us understands what you are telling us, Chanchan."
Ruan Chanchan sighed. She said to them, "Though we managed to get a stream flowing down the mountains. But the terrain is not plain. There is no way it can flow all the way down without us managing to dig a path for its smooth flow. Plus, we need to dig a space for the water to be collected."
She then pointed to the clearing before slowly explaining, "If we bury a hollow log in the flowing river and then connect more hollowed oaks just like the first one, then wouldn’t the water flow through the space between the hollowed oaks all the way to the tribe? Won’t we have a flowing water stream in the tribe?"
"Is it possible?" Chief Xie sucked in a breath; she was completely amazed by the very idea.
"Why didn’t we think of it before?" Priestess Yuan asked with a shocked expression, as if she was trying to accept the fact that they were not able to understand something so simple all along. If they could have used this idea before, then how many totem warriors could have been saved?
They could have saved so many lives if only they had used their wits.
"This idea is truly ingenious," Chief Xie spoke with her eyes wide in realisation. "Connecting the water logs to transport water. Truly, it’s a really smart idea, Chanchan."
For people in a primitive society, this idea seemed simple, but no one could have thought about it or even dared to think about it. After all, for people who struggle daily just to fill their stomachs, how could they even think of using the hollowed oak to transport water? Everyone just thought that it was better to use the stone bowls and the wicker basket with grass to bring water to the tribe and fill the large stone vats.
Their thinking is limited due to the desperation of surviving and trying to avoid the attacks from the Black Snake Tribe.
Ruan Chanchan listened to the words of Xiao Xi and shook her head. She realised that she needed to select a few smart individuals and start teaching them carefully. If not, then she would have to take every single responsibility on her head. It was simply similar to how these people knew that they needed to eat, but without the required sacrifices, they could never find out which things they could eat and which things they could not eat.
"Maybe it had something to do with being blessed by the beast goddess," said Priestess Yuan with a pleased expression. "Since we are not the blessed one, how can we even understand something so simple?"
Chief Xie then turned to look at Ruan Chanchan and asked curiously, "But how are we supposed to connect the hollowed oak? Do you have an idea about that as well?"
Priestess Yuan also straightened up. She also wanted to know how they were supposed to connect the hollowed oak logs.
After all, finding the oak logs was the easiest task. The most difficult task was to join them together.
Being able to connect them was the most important task.
"There must be a way, right, Chanchan?" Priestess Yuan asked with a smile on her lips. Since Ruan Chanchan had brought up this idea, she must have an idea to solve it.
"It is actually very simple. We just need to sharpen the edge of the other log while enlarging the other end of the log and connecting them. This way, they can form a connection," Ruan Chanchan said as she picked up a stick and drew her plan on the land. Of course, Ruan Chanchan knew that this would not be watertight. Still, as long as most of the water could flow down the stream to the tribe, this was better than nothing.
"So, thats how it works," Priestess Yuan nodded in realisation.
Chief stared at the diagram on the ground and nodded. "This is simple and it won’t take long for us to make it."
"I knew you would have a plan, Ruan Chanchan." Priestess Yuan patted Ruan Chanchan on the back and said, "Keep on working hard; the more you work hard, the more the tribe members will see your hard work. This way, they will start accepting you."
Ruan Chanchan smiled upon hearing the praise, but she didn’t say anything in response. When she came to this world, she only wanted to find a safety net for herself and not work herself to the bone. Much less fighting for power.
Damn those elders to the deepest pits of hell. Because of them, I have to work this hard.
"Truly witty. I have to say that I never thought that the Big Bear Tribe was hiding a treasure like this."
Alarm bells started to ring inside Chief Xie’s head as she snapped her head and looked at the person who had spoken, and when she saw that it was actually Rong Xian, the bells in her head didn’t just start ringing. They started to smash against one another so hard that Chief Xie could feel her head buzzing.
"Prince—Prince Rong? What are you doing here?"
Damn it. Where was her mind when this brat sneaked so close to their cave ? Oh, she was awing the log connection system. Damn her and her stupid senses!
