Chapter 133: The beginning of the end

Audrey stayed with her mom until she finished eating. Lisa had met them and offered to stay beside Isabella and take care of Isabella.

Audrey was very glad and accepted without delay.

She told her mother that she’d be back later to visit her and then left with Alpha Lake.

On their way back to the Packhouse, Alpha Lake diverted and took Audrey to walk down further away from the Packhouse.

"Where are you taking me to?" She questioned, looking up at him with a relaxed smile.

He shrugged, "We’ve never really had an official date," He replied.

"So?" She asked, already knowing what he wanted to say but just needed to hear him say it to her.

"So, I’m taking us on an official date, just like teenagers do," He chuckled, drawing her closer so he could wrap his arms around her waist.

"I want to make you understand that you’re special, Audrey," He paused under a Plane tree and faced her, his arms around her waist as he stared down at her.

"I meant every word I said to your mother, Audrey. I’d give my life for you," He placed his forehead on hers, staring seriously into her beautiful eyes.

Audrey slowly shook her head at him. She was remembering what Selena had warned her about. Nature and Karma wanted Alpha Lake dead, and she hasn’t been comfortable ever since he started making promises of giving his life for her.

Was it nature and Karma’s doing? Making him think that way? But she had refused to mark him; why would they still be targeting him?

Audrey raised her hands to his face, holding his cheeks, "No, don’t say that. Never say that, no one is dying. You, me, are going to stay together for a very very long time, did you hear me?" She questioned, frowning up at him.

Alpha Lake smirked and engulfed her in a tight hug, "Yes, baby, I heard you. I’m not going anywhere, I’m never leaving you; it’s a promise," He kissed her neck, smiling.

Audrey was happy with the promise; she held his arm and gummed herself to his side.

"So, where were we going?" She asked eagerly, she wanted to see where they were going to have this teenage date of theirs.

"Right...just down the street, there’s a really nice restaurant there, you’ll love it, come on," He playfully slapped her ass behind, making her giggle.

"Stop it, Lake, we’re outside," She pretended to be stern, but deep down, she loved every bit of it.

"I don’t care, Kitten, as long I know you love it," He whispered into her ears as they walked on.

Audrey couldn’t stop smiling; she really did enjoy every bit of his public display of affection; she was a huge fan of it.

"I love you, Lake," Audrey tipped her upward and stole a kiss from him.

Alpha Lake paused, smirking.

"You don’t have to be sneaky about it, love," He drew her into his arms again, "I’m yours," He whispered into her ears before kissing her lips.

Audrey kissed him back, not minding that they were outside anymore, his lips tasted like coffee; he must have had it as he woke up from sleep; she slowly bit his lower lip, sucking it into her mouth.

"Fuck, Kitten, you really want to do this out here?" He asked breathlessly.

"I’m down if you’re down," He said huskily, leaning in for another kiss.

"Oh, please, get a room, you two. Have mercy on us singles," Alpha Sebastian said behind them.

Audrey heard his voice and wanted to move away from Alpha Lake but he held her back, smirking down at her, "Being shy now?"

"Come on, someone’s behind us," Audrey whispered.

"I don’t see anyone," Alpha Lake shrugged, leaning in to kiss her again.

Audrey was chuckling as she removed her face from him.

"Come on, Lake quit it, let’s go," She laughed, reeling back.

"Show off," Alpha Sebastian scoffed and walked closer to them, dragging Audrey away from him.

"It’s been a long time since I had some time with my sweet cheeks," Alpha Sebastian said, walking ahead with Audrey.

Audrey was smiling. It was true. It’s been a long since she had a chat with Alpha Sebastian.

"You know he’s going to go beast mood on you right?" She questioned with a smile

Alpha Sebastian nodded. "I know, and I’m ready for him," He answered so Alpha Lake would hear him.

"Are you sure you’re ready Sebastian?" Alpha Lake asked as he walked up beside Audrey.

Alpha Sebastian smiled and turned to him, "Relax dear friend, I was just joking. Don’t be so hard on yourself," He teased.

Alpha Lake glared at him, frowning as he saw how he was holding Audrey’s hand.

"Where are you guys heading off to?" Alpha Sebastian asked.

"We are-"

"Going for a date, Sebastian. Want to join us?" Alpha Lake asked angrily.

Alpha Sebastian paused for a second before replying. "Why not? I don’t see why I can’t," He shrugged.

"Okay, that’s it," Alpha Lake growled lowly and snatched Audrey away from Alpha Sebastian’s hold.

"We don’t need you, Sebastian. A date. Do you understand? A date is between two people who are in love with each other, not with some extra unwanted and unloved-"

"Hold up, I’d like to stop you right there, Mr. Alpha. I am by no means unloved. You love me right, Audrey?" Alpha Sebastian asked Audrey, blinking cutely at her.

"Come on, guys, stop behaving like cheerleaders," Audrey frowned at them, then faced Alpha Sebastian.

"Come on, Sebastian, we just want some alone time, I promise to go out with you tomorrow," Audrey convinced.

Alpha Sebastian frowned at Alpha Lake, then smiled at Audrey, "Fine, promise?" He asked cutely.

"Promise," Audrey smiled.

Audrey looked toward Alpha Lake and saw him frowning, she couldn’t believe that two grown Alpha males were behaving like babies.

"Let’s go, baby," Alpha Lake wasted no time in dragging Audrey away from Alpha Sebastian.

"Um, Audrey?" Alpha Sebastian called as they were about to leave.

"Yes, Sebastian," Audrey answered patiently, the opposite feeling of the man beside her.

"Have him tell you about my complaint, you might know the solution to it," He said.

"What complaint?" She asked, looking at Alpha Lake.

Alpha Lake sighed, he almost forgot about it, but still, couldn’t Alpha Sebastian wait till after his date with Audrey?

"He said that-"

"Alpha! Luna!" Lawrence and Maya were running toward them, out of breath.

Audrey saw them and immediately sensed something off. Something bad has happened.

"What’s the matter, Lawrence?" Alpha Lake asked, his instinct making him stand protectively in front of Audrey.

"Sandra..." Maya paused, panting.

"Please, Audrey, help me, help me find her!" Lawrence begged, his voice shaking.

"Calm down, guys; what are you talking about? What happened to Sandra?" Audrey asked, stepping out from behind Alpha Lake.

"We wanted to go for a run in the woods, but we suddenly scented something awful coming from deep within the woods, and when we went to check it out, someone...no, something appeared behind us and grabbed Sandra, and when we turned, we saw a man, a zombie-looking man, holding Sandra hostage, but before we could move, he disappeared with her. She was gone, no trace left for us to follow; please, help me, help me find my mate," Lawrence was almost in their ears.

He couldn’t imagine what Sandra must be feeling and facing wherever she would be at that moment.

"Elena," Audrey became extremely angry.

She should have just ended Malachi and that stupid Elena when she had the chance.

But this time, she wasn’t going to hold back. If Elena knew what was coming to her, she wouldn’t have messed with her in the beginning.

Alpha Lake and Alpha Sebastian shared a secret look. "Exactly what happened to my pack members..." Alpha Sebastian said quietly.

Audrey frowned, "They went missing without a trace too?" She questioned.

Alpha Sebastian nodded, "But we didn’t see who took them, left no trace, just like they said," He informed.

"Let’s head back to the Packhouse," Audrey said urgently.

"These undead creatures might still be out there lurking, waiting to steal away more people, we have to alert everyone," She said as they walked back to the Packhouse.

"I’ll ask Andrew to get every child and every pregnant woman into the safe house, and everyone strong enough to fight shall be summoned; I feel the war coming and fast," Alpha Lake said seriously.

They reached the Packhouse and Maria came running to Audrey.

"Audrey, Sandra’s missing!" She said, scared for her friend.

"I know, I know, Maria. Where’s Miranda?" She asked, stepping into the living room.

"I’m here, Audrey," Miranda spoke behind her.

Audrey immediately turned to her, "We need to summon the other sisters, I think it’s time we ended all this," her face was hard.

Everyone around could feel Audrey’s anger. They didn’t know which got her angrier: the fact that Sandra was the one missing or the fact that Elena was constantly on her neck.

"Gather all warriors, the converted rogues, and anyone eligible to fight; we need to be ready when they come," Audrey said to Andrew, who rushed into the living room with Alex beside him.
