Chapter 141: Last Visit To Daddy

Audrey watched as the wound on Alpha Lake’s chest slowly wove together, she kept her eyes on him in anticipation, waiting for him to open his eyes, but he didn’t.

The light was starting to dim, and she couldn’t still sense any heartbeat from him; she was getting anxious, thinking that maybe his soul had already crossed the realm of the unloving.

She was about to complain to Selena when she suddenly heard a very faint heartbeat.

’He’s alive!’ Avery jumped with joy.

Audrey didn’t move, she just knelt motionless beside him, her eyes locked on his face as she focused on listening to his faint heartbeat. His chest was slowly rising and falling. Luke was in a very deep sleep.

She wanted to look into his eyes, even if it was one last time, but he never opened his eyes; he just remained still, unconscious.

’He won’t wake up now, Audrey. Three days it’ll take three days for his soul and body to join together as one again, for his soul is still a bit lost and confused; traveling between realms could be quite tiring for a soul. He needs to find a balance, and with his balance, comes the erasing of your memories with him. His soul is making sure to erase everything that could cause it pain and death again; just like the sculpture said, you’re the only one capable of causing him pain and death again. So, if I may advise, I’ll suggest you leave, leave the pack completely, and never return. This is what you agreed to, unless you want him dead, forever,’ Selena narrated in a serene voice.

Audrey closed her eyes, tears running down her cheeks in abundance.

The wind was soft and the moon was bright, shining down on Alpha Lake’s unconscious body.

Audrey gently wiped the blood from the side of his lips then lowered her face to place a soft kiss on his warm lips.

This was it, their goodbye kiss.

She lay on his chest and wept, not caring that people were gathered around her.

Was this really how their story ended? After all, these have been through?

Audrey thought back to a couple of hours when he swore to protect her life over everyone else’s; she never knew he meant it. And she had gotten angry, walking out on him.

She felt guilty; she never got the chance to tell him that she wasn’t angry at him, that in fact, she loved him more than life itself.

Why was life so cruel? It didn’t choose who it happened to, and it definitely didn’t give a damn about who you are or what you do.

She sniffed loudly, wiping her tears on her sleeve.

"I love you, Lake," She whispered quietly.

’We love them, we’ll miss them,’ Avery sighed sadly.

’Me too,’ Selena added softly.

Audrey nodded; they would surely miss him; she was already feeling horrible at the thought of leaving his side forever; they’d come to love him and had gotten so used to him. Separation was the worst thing to ever happen to them.

If there was another life, Audrey wished to still be paired up as his mate, he was the best thing to ever happen to her in this life.

Miranda and her twin were quietly watching Audrey; they let her cry to her heart’s content, knowing that none of their consolations would matter to her at that moment.

Andrew, Alex, Alpha Sebastian, Green, Maya, Lawrence, Stacy, Cara, Janeth, and Grace were all standing behind Miranda, their heads lowered in sadness.

Audrey turned and stared at everyone, a sad smile playing on her quivering lips.

They’ve all come a long, bumpy way; it wasn’t easy, but in the end, they found peace, all but her. Just when she could finally live in the pack peacefully with no enemies, she was asked to leave...for good.

She had to leave behind all her memories with her friends and family, journeying to an unknown land to start a new life with foreign people.

She slowly stood from beside Alpha Lake, staring at him for a very long time, and then she looked around the clearing, the whole place looked destroyed, ashes from the dark creatures were all scattered in heaps, bodies of some of their warriors lay across the clearing too, and blood stains could be seen everywhere.

She turned her eyes to her sister’s dead body and smiled; at least, this time, her suffering wasn’t in vain.

She slowly walked over to Elena’s body and magically set her body in flames. She wanted to make sure that she destroyed every single proof of her existence on Earth; she didn’t want the Earth to find any piece of her that might lead to her reincarnation; she didn’t deserve to walk the Earth.

Green slowly walked up to Audrey and bowed her head to her.

"Wherever you go, I’ll follow great one," Green promised, her face determined.

Audrey looked at her and smiled. She had met Greenback at the secret coven and had lived her for her trustworthy personality.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to travel with someone like her, at least a familiar face in a strange land.

She slowly nodded at Green and walked away.

She stood in front of Andrew and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Take your Alpha back to the Packhouse," She nodded at him and then walked away.

"Follow me," She took Lawrence’s hand and walked into the forest.

Everyone was asked to return to the pack as Alpha Lake was being carried back to the packhouse on a stretcher.

Lawrence was quietly following Audrey behind; he was still worried about Sandra, he hadn’t seen her since the dark creature vanished with her, but he didn’t know how to ask Audrey about it; the situation wasn’t just right to question her about anything at all.

"Go behind the shrub," Audrey released his hand and stood in front of the shrub she had laid Sandra.

Looking around the area, she remembered when she was fighting Elena and her creatures with Alpha Lake by her side. She was already missing his presence.

Lawrence looked at the shrub in confusion but nodded his head and slowly walked around it.

His eyes widened in realization as she saw his mate lying unconscious on the floor.

Sandra was back to normal; Audrey didn’t have to take her to the secret garden anymore for the Stellaluna ritual; destroying Elena’s heart freed every single thing that was tied to her, including Sandra’s darkening soul.

"Oh my goodness, Audrey, you found her!" Lawrence immediately lowered himself and lifted Sandea off the dirty floor, his face beaming with happiness.

"Take care of her, Lawrence," Audrey advised kindly, her face staring at them with an unreadable expression.

Lawrence looked up at her with a happy smile, "Thank you so much, Audrey; I will always take care of her. She means the world to me," Lawrence promised.

She was glad that none of her friends had to face any form of sadness like she did. They all deserve to be happy in life. And she wished them all the best life had to offer them.

She smiled at Lawrence’s love for her best friend and knew with no doubt that he’d take care of her.

She walked up to them and hugged him tightly with Sandra in his arms, "Never stop loving her; you mean the world to her, too," She smiled down at Sandra.

She wished she had more time to stay and bicker with her best friend when she woke up. She would have loved to make fun of her about how bad of a monster she was, but she couldn’t stay; she had one more thing to do.

Lawrence nodded at Audrey’s words, "I promise I’ll..." he paused as he raised his head and could no longer see Audrey in front of him.

He knew she had teleported to somewhere else, and he had an idea where the place could be.

He pitied his uncle, but he knew he deserved what was coming for him.

Death Claw Pack...

Audrey materialized in front of the Packhouse. The guards immediately sighted her and ran to attack her, but a single wave of her had set them on fire and had them running into things and buildings, transferring the fire to whatever they touched.

Soon, smoke flew high up to the sky, some parts of the building crackling with fire.

Audrey marched on; it was time to pay a final visit to her desk father.

Malachi saw the fire from his study and dashed out from there, running down the living room to escape from the fire.

"Hello, Daddy," Audrey stood in front of the entrance, smiling sinisterly at Malachi’s terrified face.

He knew there was no escaping this time, Elena had failed, once again, and this time, he was going down with her.

"A-audrey," He stammered.

"Yes, Daddy," Audrey answered creepily, walking toward him on slow, calculative steps.

Malachi moved back into the burning building, fear gripping his whole body.

"It’s time to say goodbye, Daddy," Audrey whispered menacingly.
