He Got Engaged to His First Love On the Day I Died-Chapter 89: His Large Hand Gripping Her Slender Waist
"I know you’re capable. Help me find out how Wanda Lynch obtained Thomas Morgan’s sperm. I need evidence—enough to charge her with making a false accusation."
’She had considered teaming up with Sean Lane to deal with Theodore Grant.’
’But right now, her chances of success weren’t that high.’
’Wanda Lynch was a different story. Natalie currently had a recording of her framing someone for arson. If she could also get evidence that Wanda framed Thomas Morgan for rape...’
’No matter what, she had to take Wanda Lynch to court.’
"That’s simple." He raised an eyebrow. "But what kind of reward will I get in return?"
"What do you want, Mr. Lane? Go ahead and say it." She lifted her chin, adding before he could speak, "But leave Theodore Grant out of it."
Sean Lane laughed.
"Then how about being my lover for a couple of days?"
Natalie froze for a moment, then lightly tapped Sean Lane’s chest with her finger. "Mr. Lane, you must have a death wish."
"If you don’t tell, and I don’t tell, who’s going to know?" He opened his arms to hug her, but Natalie shoved him away forcefully. "If you’re not willing to help me, Mr. Lane, then forget it." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Theodore Grant is about to dig out your mother’s kidney, and you’re still staying faithful to him?" Sean Lane took out a cigarette and put it to his lips. "He doesn’t even treat you like a human being."
"It seems Mr. Lane is unwilling."
’Fine, she’d find someone else.’
’There were plenty of private investigators out there.’
’Worst case, it would just take more effort and more money.’
Natalie turned to leave, but Sean Lane reached out and grabbed her wrist. "I’ll help you. And I don’t want any payment."
"You’d better ask for something." ’It was best to keep things transactional, with no debts owed.’ "If you don’t want any payment, I won’t ask for your help."
"You really are... one of a kind." He chuckled, taking the cigarette from his lips. "That’s what I like about you."
Catching her off guard, he planted a kiss on her cheek.
Furious, Natalie raised her hand to slap him, but he caught her wrist. "Payment received. I’ll send you what I find."
Natalie glared at him.
Without another word, she turned and left.
Sean Lane smiled, walked to the windowsill, took out his phone, and dialed Theodore Grant.
"The scent of lavender on Natalie Morgan... it’s truly intoxicating. I’m so envious of you."
With a BANG, Theodore Grant hurled his phone across the room.
"Weller Kendall, go get Natalie Morgan and bring her to me."
"Yes, sir."
The woman, having just left the art studio, was escorted into a car by Weller Kendall.
Theodore Grant, his face dark, commanded, "Both of you, wait outside the car."
Weller Kendall and the driver were shooed out of the car.
The privacy partition rose. Natalie’s heart began to pound with unease.
"You came to see Sean Lane?" His voice wasn’t loud, but it made Natalie’s heart tremble. "You... you’re following me?"
"I am following you." He didn’t deny it, his fingertips gripping her chin forcefully. "Tell me, what did you do with Sean Lane?"
’Natalie didn’t want to say.’
She turned her face away, but he forced it back. "Natalie Morgan, you’d better not waste the chance I’m giving you."
"A chance?" Natalie looked into the man’s eyes, her own filled with bitterness. "What kind of chance? The chance to let my mother become brain-dead so Wanda Lynch can get her kidney?"
His fingers froze.
’An explanation reached his lips, but he swallowed it back down.’
"You’re just being difficult." He wasn’t here to argue about that. "Natalie Morgan, I told you Sean Lane is not someone to be trifled with. Why do you insist on getting mixed up with him?"
’Natalie had no desire to explain.’
’If she told him she’d asked Sean Lane to investigate Wanda Lynch, would he be okay with it?’
’No, of course he wouldn’t. He might even retaliate against her.’
’Why bother?’
"Say something!" he roared.
Natalie watched his outburst calmly. "What do you want me to say? That I just slept with Sean Lane? That you want to know what positions we used? That he and I..."
He raised his hand high and swung it toward her face.
The slap didn’t land on Natalie’s delicate, fair face.
His hand balled into a fist and smashed into the car window.
’If it weren’t for the privacy film, his hand would probably be ruined.’
CRACK.
A spiderweb of cracks appeared in the glass.
"Ah..." Natalie cried out, covering her head in fear.
’She hadn’t meant to provoke him.’
’Anyone with half a brain would know that she couldn’t have done much in the ten minutes she was in there.’
’But he just had to let his mind go there.’
"Tell me properly," his low, hoarse voice was tinged with a morbid frenzy. "Speak."
Natalie chose silence.
’She had nothing to say.’
He grabbed the back of her head, his ragged breath washing over her nose. "Hard to say? Are you planning to team up with Sean Lane against me? Help him become the successor of the Grant Group? What did he promise you? Hm?"
"No."
"I want to hear the truth." His large hand tightened on the nape of her neck, the pain making her wince. "Theodore Grant, the ’truth’ you want to hear is just what you’ve already imagined. That’s not the real truth at all."
"Then what is the truth?"
Natalie couldn’t possibly tell him the truth. "It has nothing to do with you, anyway."
"It seems Mrs. Grant doesn’t want to share her heart with her husband. Then she can share her body."
He forced her down beneath him and kissed her lips.
She didn’t resist, letting him do as he pleased.
He kissed her fiercely, dominantly, forcing a response from her. His large hand gripped her slender waist, pressing her tightly against him...
She was kissed until she couldn’t breathe.
The cramped space of the car repulsed her; doing something like this in here.
The car began to rock violently from the force of the man’s movements.
In broad daylight, such rocking would inevitably spark the imagination of any onlookers.
Neither Weller Kendall nor the driver dared to go near and interrupt.
They could only smoke one cigarette after another to pass the time.
「Some time later.」
The storm of passion passed.
Seeing the flush on the woman’s cheeks, he contentedly took a tissue to clean himself up.
Natalie curled into a small ball.
Her body was trembling slightly.
"Want me to help you?"
"N-no." She shook her head, quickly tidied herself up, and got dressed. "Theodore Grant, I want to ask you something."
"You haven’t given me an explanation about you and Sean Lane, and you still want to ask me something?"
Natalie lowered her lashes slightly.
’She knew he probably wouldn’t agree, but...’
"Theodore Grant, if my mother dies, even if Wanda Lynch can’t find a suitable match... please, just let my mother’s body be left intact, okay?"
Her voice was filled with sorrow.
A pang of discomfort tugged at Theodore Grant’s heart.
"If you don’t sign, who’s going to just take organs from your mother? Use some common sense."
’Natalie had common sense.’
’But who could possibly stop Theodore Grant from doing whatever he wanted?’
"Wanda Lynch came to the hospital today. She had a voluntary organ donation consent form with my mother’s name on it." She looked at the man’s handsome profile. "You put her up to this, didn’t you?"
Theodore Grant’s brow tightened.
’He hadn’t agreed to this.’
’And Wanda Lynch had never mentioned it to him.’
’After all, Yulia White had raised Wanda Lynch for so many years. No matter how much she hated the Morgan family, she wouldn’t go so far as to...’
"You think it was me?" he asked her in return.
Natalie nodded definitively. "Yes."
"I’m not that powerful."
’In Natalie’s mind, whether Theodore Grant was that powerful or not depended entirely on whether he wanted to do it.’
’Wanda Lynch was a good actress.’
’Theodore Grant was good at telling bald-faced lies.’
’Neither of them could be trusted.’
