He who Bends Time-Chapter 57 - a servant wants to go outside
Chapter 57: Chapter 57 - a servant wants to go outside
Time passed for a few days. At first, the mansion of the Blessing Crystal was peaceful for everyone staying in it, all of them resting to their heart’s content. But as time went on, they gradually started to come out of their rooms.
In a corridor of the mansion, leading to a balcony that overlooked the vast interior, Henry stood gazing at the peaceful horizon of the Blessing Crystals. The environment inside the Blessing Crystal was truly one of a kind.
At first, before anyone was officially permitted to enter the crystal without the approval of the two crystal golems, all they could see was the plain sight of the crystal spreading across the entire area. Although it was still magical—being one of the grandest nations modeled within this structure—the repetitive sight of just crystal could eventually grow dull and tiring if it was the only thing one ever saw.
But once someone had gained the golems’ permission, that’s when the true environment of the Blessing Crystal was revealed.
It was like paradise. The plants and trees growing inside the Blessing Crystal never showed any signs of illness or decay. They continued to thrive in full bloom, creating a healthy and magical environment. Even just a glimpse of that scenery was enough to calm a restless mind.
While Henry was admiring this beautiful sight, he heard a soft noise behind him. Turning around, he saw that it was Marian, carrying a few items that Henry didn’t expect to see.
"Oh, Henry! Good morning," she greeted him first upon noticing him.
"Mmm, are those nails? And what’s that weird thing with the balls?" Henry asked, pointing at the items in her hands.
"You don’t need to be concerned about that," she replied casually. "These are for Nick. He still has a few things he needs to tell me—and I don’t think he’ll be talking properly unless he goes through a few... ’things’ first."
"Anyway, how’s the mansion and your stay? The accommodation is good, right?" she asked.
"Absolutely!, I got the rest I desperately needed, and now I feel like a newborn baby. Thank you truly for inviting us," said Henry with genuine gratitude.
"I’m glad to hear that. Since you seem to be enjoying the scenery, I’ll leave you to it," she said as she prepared to leave.
"By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask you something."
Hearing Henry again, Marian stopped in her tracks.
"Actually, it’s about the teleportation circle. Since we know the name of our world now, I think we might be able to go back to it. But the problem is, I don’t know how that thing works here. Can you help me with that?" Henry asked.
"The teleportation circle? I’m sorry, but I’m not good when it comes to that either. I’ve only used it a few times before, and each of those times, my followers were the ones who handled it for me. All I ever did was jump through the wormhole to the next place where the teleportation circle was located and get on it. Other than that, I didn’t pay much attention to how it works," said Marian apologetically.
"But information about the teleportation circle isn’t exactly rare. If you take a walk outside and ask around a bit, you might be able to get a proper answer. Or you could go directly to where the teleportation circle is—just ask for directions."
"Oh, that’s right! When you want to go outside, you can ask the golem to help you with that. And here—some arena crystals. You can’t really do much without some money in your pocket. By the way, if you’re lonely, ask Octo or Nimuk if either of them wants to come along. I think they must be getting pretty bored too," Marian said as she handed over a crystal pouch to Henry.
"Thanks. I think the two of them are still having breakfast. Either way, I’m thinking of going alone," replied Henry.
"It’s your choice. What about Auran?" asked Marian.
"He still hasn’t come out, and I haven’t checked on him either," replied Henry.
"Yeah, he did strictly say not to disturb him, right? I haven’t thought about checking on him since then either. Anyway, if you go out, be careful not to get into unnecessary trouble. But if you do, don’t shy away—try to appear strong as much as you can. That’s how you survive out there," she said before walking away.
Not wasting any more time, Henry also quickly prepared himself and stepped out from the mantion. Following the path that led outside, he soon arrived at the place where they had previously met the two golems named Jin and Gin.
As he arrived, the two golems gradually manifested from the nearby crystal cliffs.
"It’s one of Marian’s servants. Why are you here, servant?" asked one of the golems.
"Did he just call me a servant... whatever," Henry muttered under his breath. Then, in a louder voice so both golems could hear, he said, "I’m here to go outside. Marian said to contact you for that."
"A servant wants to go out," said one.
"Must be to buy meat to eat," the two golems spoke to each other.
Afterward, they both nodded slightly at Henry and waved their giant crystal hands. A powerful gust of wind blew at him, strong enough to lift him from the ground and carry him through the crystal until he eventually emerged on the outside. The wind carefully floated him through the air and gently landed him in the second circle, where most of the shops were located.
"Thanks for the lift," he said to the wind that blew upward again after landing him. It curved slightly, as if gesturing in acknowledgment, and disappeared into the sky.
Looking around at his surroundings, Henry took a step forward.
. . . . . . . .
Meanwhile, in the Blessing Crystal Mansion, around a giant table filled with food, Octo and Nimuk were feasting like beasts.
"Who exactly made this food? It’s delicious," said Octo, taking a bite of the roasted meat in his hand.
"Didn’t you see? There are those crystals in human shape that do all the work in the mansion. Although their appearance is crystal-like, they do everything a living being can do," answered Nimuk, taking a sip from the drink he held in his hand.
