He who Bends Time-Chapter 58 - leaving hunks
Chapter 58: Chapter 58 - leaving hunks
"For real? To have servants that do everything for her—I wonder how much it would cost me to get to that point," questioned Octo.
"A lot of money, I guess," answered Nimuk, taking another sip.
Afterward, there was a moment of quiet as the two of them took their time to eat their fill. At the end of his meal, Nimuk raised his voice.
"I think I’m considering finding myself a lady partner."
Pfff!
Everything inside Octo’s mouth came out in a violent burst as he heard what Nimuk had said.
"What... Where did that come from?" he asked.
"I’ve just been thinking... since I can’t go back to my own world, it’s better to start a new life in this one. And the first step to that is getting attached to this place. I asked Auran before he disappeared into his room, and his suggestion was to find things I love and things that make me feel like I belong here.
And I could only think of one thing that could make me feel attached to a place, and that’s..."
"A woman? You’re thinking of finding a woman for yourself?" Octo asked, his tone clearly doubtful.
"Yes! But why do you sound like that? Oh, I know—you might think there’s no woman here who’d be a match for me. I understand, and I’ve already thought about that. I’ve decided to be as humble as I can, so they’ll feel confident talking to me," said Nimuk, his eyes sparkling with determination.
But on the other hand, Octo’s face twisted even more. He struggled to say the words that came to his mind.
’With that fish-like face of his, I doubt any woman would come to talk to him. Poor guy... I’m not going to destroy his confidence. And who knows? Maybe there is a woman out there who can like him... but I’m not sure about love.’
Thud!
After finishing his meal, Octo placed his plate and the bones of the beast he ate on the table with a loud sound, enough to cause a small scene.
"If that’s your wish, then good luck. I’m gonna do my own thing," he said before standing up and quickly walking out of the room before Nimuk could say or ask anything more.
After leaving the dining hall, Octo went looking for Marian. However, it took him more time than he thought to find her, and it was only thanks to a loud scream he heard from a specific room that he managed to locate her.
"Did that scream really carry all the way outside?" Marian asked, sweat forming on her forehead.
"Of course. How else would I find you in this random room in the corner of the mansion? But don’t worry, it can only be heard from a few feet away. It’s not nearly loud enough to reach the room Auran is in."
It was only after hearing that reassurance from Octo that Marian sighed in relief.
"So, why did you come looking for me? Do you need something?" she asked.
After Octo simply told her he wanted to leave, she gave him the same instructions she gave Henry on how to exit, and also handed him a crystal pouch.
"You seem to be rich. Did that guy Nick really have that much money?" Octo asked as he took the pouch.
"I don’t think that’s a business you need to worry about," said Marian rudely as she closed the door, but Octo still said a few words before leaving.
"By the way, Nimuk should be arriving here soon to go out. Don’t say anything discouraging to him. He needs something to believe in—at least a little hope."
After that, he left to find the golems.
Moments afterward, another knock echoed at the room door, and Marian opened it, already guessing who was on the other side.
"Hey, pretty lady. It’s hard to say this, but it’s time for this hunk to leave the nest. But I know you don’t have the heart to send me away without any reassurance, so I’m here to get what you can give me as a reassuring, caring gift," came the glistening words from Nimuk’s mouth as he leaned on the doorframe.
All Marian wanted was to puke, but she held it in after remembering what Octo had said. She quickly took out a coin pouch and tossed it over to him while pointing toward the exit. In the next moment, she quickly closed the door and locked it—leaving Nimuk standing still on the other side.
"She must be in sorrow. That’s why she can’t face me any longer. I understand," Nimuk said dramatically, then turned around and left.
"I don’t know whether it’s a good thing or not to let him go outside with that attitude. If it’s the Awakened City I know, I’m pretty sure he would get beat up. Poor guy seems to have too much confidence in himself," Marian sighed but quickly refocused her mentality and picked up a whip as she made her way down the staircase leading to the floor below.

Moments earlier, Octo, who had left first, quickly found the two golems, Jin and Gin.
However, unlike with Henry, the golems did not like Octo’s attitude or appearance very much.
"What did you say? A servant? Me? I’m nobody’s servant—you hear that? If anything, that woman will be my servant soon!" he exclaimed angrily.
"Quite a large wish for a puny servant, I say," one of the golems replied as they waved their hands, quickly sending the annoying one away, since the two of them needed to go back to sleep.
However, before they could return to their crystal forms, another one appeared before them.
"Send me away, my other half is waiting for me," said Nimuk, and the golems waved their hands silently, sending Nimuk off with a violent gust of wind.
"Is it me, or has Marian gotten some weird servants for herself?"
"I had the same thought," the two golems said as they returned to the crystal cliffs they had manifested from.
