Heir of Mana:Beast made king-Chapter 54: Twilight (2)
When Azreal saw it, he already knew, "Well, that’s not good"
And he had no idea how right he was.
Seeing the look on his face, the wolf’s smile widened even more; finally, it would escape this everlasting boredom it felt.
In this place it had nothing, no opponents, no fights, no challenge; it was alone with its thoughts and the disgusting thing wrapping around its body.
Sure, it had the others as a sort of company, people stuck in the same position as it.
But even then, nothing beat an actual fight, an actual challenge; even tho it was severely weakened and nowhere near its prime, it still liked to fight; it still felt the need to fight.
The symbols on its body began to glow even brighter, illuminating its fur as if it were bathing in starlight.
And then the gigantic wolf vanished from Azreal’s sight
There were no spikes of snow, no poisonous breath, and no dust that even showed that it moved
No there was none of that; it was just gone from his sight one moment, and the next, he was sent flying through the air with his shoulder feeling like it had just been hit with an entire building
He was sent flying far from where he was standing.
No, he was sent flying towards where he was standing?? He didn’t really understand it, but he landed right back in the spot where he originally was.
Only to be sent flying again, but while in the air this time he managed to see a flicker of obsidian fur before it disappeared again
And with that disappearance came pain, hard, bone-crushing pain as he was knocked into the opposite direction again
Or was it the same direction? He couldn’t really tell as he was flying in the same direction,
Or so He thought
And again he saw the flicker of obsidian fur before it disappeared again, and the pain came again, this time focused on his back, throwing him into the air this time
As he ascended into the air, he eventually reached high enough that he lifted off the ground.
Quickly getting to his feet, he realized that even though the pain was so bad, he was convinced that his bones were shattered into millions of pieces.
He was strangely completely fine, whether it was the first, second, or third hit not to mention the pain he felt hitting the ground even though he was in the air
Even with all of this he was completely fine, he could move just fine, he could think clearly, he could feel everything
And whether that last one is good or bad he was starting to wonder as he felt the pain not long after he assessed his condition.
This time he saw the flicker before he was hit, diving to the side hoping to avoid it but it was ultimately useless as he was still hit sending him flying through the air again with the pain that accompanied the hit.
But this time the pain was way different, even tho he still felt like he was hit with a building, he also felt a sharp deep pain that ran from his Shoulder to his legs and when he looked he was horrified
His right shoulder all the way down to his leg was cut open but there was no blood flowing, no organs showing
It was like he was hollow on the inside, there was just darkness like a bottomless pit
And even that didn’t last long as seconds after he laid his eyes on it his body began to stitch itself back together, his skin closing the hole returning him to normal
Or as normal as he could be right now Fighting basically a flicker of light while having no organs or blood.
Turning his attention away from his own body for now he set his sights on the flicker of obsidian fur he kept seeing
Attempting to follow its movements with his eyes but it was just too fast for him, allowing him to only see glimpses before or after he was hit
But the more he saw it the better his eyes followed it until he began to see more than just the glimpses of obsidian fur, he began to see the light from the twilight symbols
But that still didn’t solve his main problem he was being thrown around like a rag doll, and even ripped open like on too the only difference was he didn’t have any stuffing.
As he was hit into the air he braced himself for impact, flipping his body mid-air so that his legs would be pointing upward and his head down.
It looked like he had finally figured it out as his feet landed on solid ground
But he had no time to celebrate
As soon as his feet touched the ground he rolled to the side, jumping backwards which threw him forwards where he kicked the seemingly empty air but his legs did connect with something
But it was soon gone, giving his body nothing to keep it in the air.
As he fell he felt it again, he was ripped open but he gave no attention to it as it would just fix itself soon anyway.
Instead, he moved his body in the air to land onto the floor by throwing himself farther into the air.
Once his feet where fermly in the floor, his eyes followed the obsidian and twilight light before dodging again.
He was starting to see it, follow its movements, dodge its attacks
Until he was finally able to get his first clear look at the wolf since it had started attacking
But his gaze was drawn from the wolf itself to the symbols that were etched onto its skin, like a natural birthmark.
There was just something about those marks that drew him in and strangely enough, it looked like the wolf slowed down a little to help him better see the symbols.
And even though he knew the wolf had slowed down and this would be the best time to attack,
He didn’t, he couldn’t
His mind was completely focused on the symbols
The wolf was no longer attacking, in fact, it wasn’t even moving, it had stopped completely in its tracks
Why?, Because of the voices in its head of course
"Your time is up #####r, you know what happens if you stay down there for too long don’t you?"
"Yeah, but I was having fun playing with us, and you know how boring this place is can’t I stay for just a few more minutes?, Is he really that weak?"
"You already know the answer to that question, so wrap it up and leave NOW!"
"Ok, ok just let me give it to him first."
Suddenly the wolf appeared right in front of Azreal in a flash before it held out its giant paw and patched his head
And that is when Azreal heard its voice for the first time, it was deep, masculine, and playful
"Take good care of it ok"
And just like that the wolf started to disappear. Turning to dust, drifting up into the sky forming an eighth-bark star that sat in the white canvas of a sky.
DiNG!!!
