Hellbound With The Vampire King-Chapter 102: Greatest Discovery
Chapter 102: Greatest Discovery
The High Priest had taken two steps backward with a gasp, his face twisted in concentration as he glanced at Serena with a renewed look, "You’ve finally met her, Your Majesty." Fei said. This time he looked calmer and in deep thoughts.
Eiravyn gaze on the man hardened even further. "Don’t talk in parables, Fei." He ordered the man, his red eyes directed at him in clear warning.
Fei’s eyes shifted from Serena to look at the Vampire King, "She is exactly what the prophecy says, Your Majesty. Her energy is the most purest and calmest, its has wide and vast as the ocean." The High Priest announced, but Eiravyn’s voice cut right through his own, sharp and menacing.
"Is she a human?" Eiravyn questioned. This was what he was most curious about, he already knew the answer to the question, but he just wants to hear the words from another seer. That would make him understand the strange occurrences.
The High Priest removed his gaze from Serena, only to look at the Vampire King like he had gone crazy. This question was really... he couldn’t find it in himself to finish his statement. Was the Vampire King tasting him? Because there’s no way he wouldn’t know that he’s mate was not human all along. It was also written in the first prophecy. So what was this question all about.
The elderly man looked at Eiravy and responded. "Of course, she is not human... anybody with eyes can see..." before the man could complete his statement, Eiravyn cut his words off again.
"Then, what is she?" Eiravyn finally asked the real question and the reason why he decided to come here in the first place. From the begining he knew Serena wasn’t a human like the way she thought herself to be. The little encounter at the bar when they first met had made it clear, whne she felt the spark of the mate bond, something any normal humans would never feel.
Humans are completely devoid of feelings when it came to mate and bonds. All they felt was love and that was it. When the love fades away, they move on to the next victim. But it’s not like that with mates. With mates it’s an everlasting thing, a vampire can only have one soul mate in their life, only in a rare case a vampire might be lucky enough to have a second chance mate but that is if their mate was dead or they got rejected.
The incident this afternoon had further confirmed to Eiravyn that Serena wasn’t human but probably something greater, the only thing he worried about was that he couldn’t figure out which supernatural species she is. It bothered him.
It bothered him that he didn’t know the full extent of her powers which left him frustrated.
"I don’t care to hear your long tale all I want to know is. What supernatural species does she fall under?" Eiravyn’s lips twitched as he echoed his thoughts.
"That’s..." The High Priest’s voice sounded and was cut off by a soft and small voice also in the room with them.
"Hold on... Hold on..." Serena finally said. It’s been a while and the back and forth conversations kept going on, it was only just minutes she came to realize that the mate the two men were talking about was in face her. Was she missing some important information here?
Serena’s bright Aurora blue eyes shifted to look between the two men inside the room, while wondering if she was misunderstood something. "Wait a minute... What are you saying Eiravyn, I’m I not a human?" Serena was stunned by their words.
When Eiravyn told her they were going to meet the High Priest she had immediately assumed that it was because of her illness, but it turned out Eiravyn had other plans.
This made her remember what Luna said while in the witch coven about how she smelt different. It didn’t make any sense, as far as she was concerned, she was human, her parents and grandparents were also humans. So, what was going on here?
"I think there’s a great misconception here, I’m very much human, Eiravyn." Serena said, her voice breaking off to a nervous laugh at the end. She felt the High Priest gaze on her and almost bolted out of the room.
Eiravyn creased his brows and Serena just looked very confused. She never knew about the existence of vampires, witches, or any other supernatural being until she bumped into Eiravyn. So hearing that she might be one of them, creeped her out. She was okay with being a human, and didn’t want to be a vampire or drink blood.
"Can someone explain what is going on here?" Serena yelled, as the silence was getting strong. Her blue eyes drifted to lol at the High Priest only to see him shrug his shoulders, then she turned to look at Eiravyn, when their eyes met she heard him release a low curse under his breath, but she didn’t care all she wanted was an explanation.
Serena folded her arms under her breast as she gazed at him. Her posture determined and confident. "Are you going to explain what all this is, Eiravyn. Or do you want me to leave this place?"
Eiravyn cursed at himself, he should really have found an opportunity to explain to her before this. "Kitten..." he called, his voice steady and labored as if he didn’t want to say anything to frighten her or make her go into a state of panic.
"You are not a human." Eiravyn finally dropped the bombshell after a while.
Another silence followed with Eiravyn contemplating how much he should reveal, he felt Serena take a step back in shock. Serena felt like she was floating on waters, as she stuttered out.
"What do you me-mean?" Serena asked, by this time her hands had dropped to the side and she was looking up at Eiravyn like he had grown two heads. Patiently waiting for Eiravyn to respond.
