Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are Are So Dangerous! [BL]-Chapter 157: A Brother’s Wrath and the Fox’s Schemes
Chapter 157: A Brother’s Wrath and the Fox’s Schemes
Laxus’s casual reaction was unfathomable to Rocco, who was overwhelmed by the unmistakable malice behind the act.
He remained carefree, while Rocco’s eyes welled with tears as someone approaching them.
It’s likely the one who threw the knife.
The figure cast a large shadow, blocking the moonlight as they strode toward Rocco, who was now crouched on the ground in fear.
The looming presence made Rocco’s heart race.
Was he going to be the next target of that knife?
His tears is about to come out as the shadow knelt before him and swiftly wrapping Rocco in a firm and protective embrace.
The familiar warmth of the touch eased Rocco’s tension slightly.
He tilted his head confused and cautiously opened his eyes.
Upon looking up, a wave of relief washed over him as he recognized the person before him.
"O-Older brother...!"
The moonlight illuminated Sylas’s lustrous hair, its rich color blending with the night sky to create an aura of mystique.
He radiated an air of calm and strength.
The moment Rocco saw Sylas, all the tension melted away from his body.
"O-Older brother! Older bro—myaaah!"
Rocco’s attempt to call out was interrupted by a sudden burst of emotion as Sylas’s presence brought him overwhelming comfort.
When Rocco heart began to softened and relaxed, he tried to throw his arms around Sylas.
However, his movements were stopped as his older brother pinched both his cheeks firmly.
"Ow... ow," Rocco whimpered as his cheeks were stretched like soft mochi, his brows furrowing and his tearful eyes widening in confusion.
Sylas’s sharp, disapproving glare bore down on him.
"Why did you running around without saying anything?" Sylas demanded, his tone stern. "I told you to wait for me, didn’t I? And if something happened, I told you to call my name."
"Mmph... mmph... I-I’m shorry..." Rocco mumbled through his stretched cheeks.
"Bad boy, Rocco. You’re such a bad boy," Sylas scolded, his frown deepening. "You left your brother behind to entertain this scheming fox, and now you’ve fallen for his tricks."
Tears welled up in Rocco’s eyes as Sylas pulled at his cheeks, and he whimpered pitifully.
Being called a "bad boy" by Sylas pierced his heart more deeply than expected, leaving him with a heavy sense of guilt.
His shoulders slumped as he reflected on his mistake.
But just as Rocco was about to drown in his feelings of remorse, Sylas pulled him into a tight, comforting hug.
The warmth of the embrace brought a flicker of joy to Rocco’s heart, and he wondered if Sylas might not be so angry anymore.
He rested his head on his brother’s shoulder with a small, hopeful smile.
Then, in a voice as sweet as honey, Sylas murmured softly into Rocco’s ear.
"Rocco, Rocco... You only love me, don’t you? Don’t listen to the words of that worthless scoundrel. Eighty percent of what comes out of his mouth is nothing but lies to serve his own selfish interests."
"Mm, mm... Older brother... I love you," Rocco replied, his voice muffled but filled with sincerity.
"That’s right, that’s right," Sylas said, his voice smooth and soothing. "And we don’t like that scum, do we?"
"Mmph, mm... but... I also like Laxus," Rocco admitted hesitantly, his voice small but earnest.
Rocco shook his head vigorously, refusing to agree, and Sylas’s frown deepened, his displeasure evident.
Watching the entire exchange unfold, Laxus let out an amused snort.
"Ha! Serves you right," Laxus said, his smirk laced with mockery.
He looked down at Sylas with a smug expression, utterly unlike the devoted, obsessive male lead who had originally been consumed by his attachment to Sylas in the story.
"Rocco loves me," Laxus declared, his tone dripping with satisfaction. "We’re in love. You should just let go of your brother complex already and stay out of this."
"Die," Sylas replied, his voice devoid of emotion.
Without so much as a retort, Sylas drew his pistol and fired a shot at Laxus.
The fluidity and precision of the motion left Rocco stunned, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Whoa, that’s just cruel!" Laxus exclaimed, his expression feigning indignation. "I nearly ended up with a bullet between my eyes!"
Laxus had dodged the bullet as if it were the most natural thing in the world, and now he pretended to sulk, puffing out his cheeks in mock frustration.
Rocco, meanwhile, could feel his brain shutting down as he tried to process the absurdity of it all.
What’s insane here is how Laxus treats near-death experiences so lightly, Rocco thought, exhaling a weary sigh.
Whenever his life was truly at risk, Laxus barely reacted, but when it came to trivial matters, he would raise an over-the-top commotion.
The quiet chaos that was Laxus’s demeanor was utterly incomprehensible.
Beside Rocco, Sylas and Laxus continued their standoff, their words sharp yet the atmosphere strangely casual.
"Alright, let’s set the joking aside for now," Laxus said with a dismissive wave. "You heard me earlier, didn’t you? Giving Rocco the protection of the Del Fiore family isn’t a bad idea."
"...The enemy’s original target was you, wasn’t it?" Sylas replied icily. "You’ve dragged an innocent bystander like Rocco into this, and now you dare to speak so casually? You conniving, black-hearted fox. Just die already."
Sylas completely dismissed Laxus’s cheerful attempt to start a conversation, once again pointing the muzzle of his gun at him.
Panicked, Rocco rushed to Sylas’s side, clinging tightly to him and shaking his head vigorously.
"B-brother! Please, get along! You have to get along! Laxus protected me!"
"Rocco... don’t be fooled. This conniving scoundrel didn’t protect you; he dragged you into this mess. The idea that you and this trash are in love is a blatant lie. There was no reason to tell such nonsense to the enemy."
"B-but... if he hadn’t said that, the enemy wouldn’t have left..."
"That’s utterly ridiculous. This conniving, black-hearted fox could have taken down the enemy at any moment. You and the enemy alike were just pawns in his schemes."
It’s no use... Sylas completely distrusted Laxus at this point.
