Chapter 301: The Magic of Creation

The expansive clearing that had stretched out in front of Elyon was gone.

While it wasn’t as large as Theo’s mansion grounds, the clearing had been comparable in size to a small schoolyard.

And now, the entire surface had vanished.

Or rather, on closer inspection, parts of the ground remained, forming walls around a network of narrow paths with deep pits on either side.

It wasn’t that the remaining sections were "like" walls—they were walls.

Elyon had excavated the entire basement in one go, carving it out with magic.

The sheer scale of the spell was staggering—so absurdly grand that everyone was left speechless.

"Hmm, this should do. Next, I’ll harden the walls... ■■■■■■," Elyon muttered.

Paying no mind to the group’s stunned silence, Elyon pressed on, continuing his work without hesitation.

This time, unlike before, Elyon chanted his usual short spell, and Damien could feel the texture of the earth that formed the walls change.

From Elyon’s explanation, it seemed he had "hardened" the earthen walls.

"Finally, I’ll create a ceiling from earth and harden that as well... ■■■■■■"

As Elyon cast the spell, the deep holes in the ground instantly transformed into smooth, flat earth, and the texture of the soil changed as well.

"Hmm, this should complete the basement," Elyon declared, looking extremely proud of himself.

But Damien and the others were so stunned by what had just happened that they could only stare at the ground, which now looked flat and even, almost uncomfortably smooth.

Yor was standing there with his mouth hanging open, while Augusto, possibly having lost his strength, collapsed to the ground, gripping Damien’s hand for support.

Even Leonide and the others, who had gotten used to Elyon’s antics, couldn’t hide their shock, as they too were unable to process what they had just witnessed.

Ah, no—Damien realized, as he looked around—among everyone who was somewhat dazed, only Sebas remained as calm and expressionless as ever.

"Teacher," Sebas said, his voice steady.

"Hm? What is it? Little Sebas, how do you like my skill after such a long time? You’re welcome to collapse in awe like the others, you know?" Elyon responded proudly.

Sebas spoke with a calm tone, unaffected by Elyon’s boasting. "It seems that the wall doesn’t have a door."

"Oh."

Elyon, who had been grinning smugly, looked a little sheepish.

His cute and somewhat goofy expression only added to the moment.

After Sebas’s gentle correction, Elyon quickly used magic to carve holes in the walls one by one.

At first, they had tried to dig through the walls by hand, but when they struck the surface, the sound was so metallic that they quickly realized it was impossible.

"Oh, right, you guys can handle the door," Elyon said with a slightly awkward expression.

Even though Elyon had made a small mistake at the end, Damien thought it was more than forgivable, given how impressive the entire process had been.

Sitta, Tis’a, and Yor were so excited that they were running around the newly created basement, which was now just a large open space.

"Be careful not to trip!" Damien called out to them.

"Understood. If it’s just that, it should only take a few days to finish," Sebas replied calmly.

Sebas, who had been measuring the dimensions casually, nodded in satisfaction.

"Wow, Elyon, that’s really amazing. I’m still shocked."

"Indeed. This is the first time I’ve seen Teacher go all out, and it’s really on a whole other level."

When Theo and Sebas both praised him honestly, Elyon, who had been slightly down before, puffed up with pride again.

"Of course, of course. This is the difference between you lower species and me. Well, I suppose this isn’t even my full strength yet."

Elyon struck a proud pose while stretching his small body dramatically.

Damien couldn’t deny that what he had just seen was truly impressive, so he remained silent.

In fact, Damien even clapped, as if to offer more praise.

Elyon, with a face full of satisfaction, looked incredibly cute.

"By the way, Elyon, what did you do with all that earth?"

There was no sign of the earth that had been dug up anywhere.

"Hm? I just converted it into air," Elyon replied nonchalantly. "To be more precise, it’s mostly oxygen and nitrogen now."

"Huh? What’s that?"

How could earth turn into gas?

"...Did you say... material transmutation?"

Theo’s voice trembled slightly as he spoke. "I thought it was just some teleportation magic, but... I never imagined you could convert this much material into gas... It’s unbelievable."

Both Theo and Sebas wore strained smiles, and it seemed like Elyon had done something impossible, even by the standards of this world.

Come to think of it, this world even had concepts like oxygen and nitrogen.

"Well, moving this much earth somewhere would have been a problem, right?" Elyon continued. "At first, I thought about sending it to the sea, but that could cause a tsunami, and that would be a hassle to explain."

"Uh, no, I don’t think it would have been a big deal with this much earth, though," Damien replied cautiously. "But, well, I’m just glad it was all handled safely."

Elyon was pretty careless, after all.

Well, anyway, it seemed like the basement was almost finished.

It really happened in the blink of an eye.

The time spent moving was probably longer than the actual construction.

"Elyon, what about the upper building? What’s the plan for that?"

Unlike the basement, where they could just dig and shape the earth, they couldn’t do the same thing up here.

What would Elyon do?

Could he possibly make wood out of air like he did earlier?

"Oh, the mansion’s easy. ...Hey, I think it’ll be fine, but just to be safe, bring the ones playing in the basement up here."

Damien wasn’t sure what Elyon was planning, but it seemed wise to be cautious.

Leonide volunteered to go and bring everyone up, so Damien waited for a bit.

Soon, the younger group came up from the stairs that led to the basement.
