Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are So Hot! [BL]-Chapter 300: The Forest’s Gate and Elyon’s Magic
"If we create a new gate in the wall on that side and build a path through the forest leading to the mansion, it should work. Although, it would mean the mansion’s front entrance would face the forest, which is... unusual."
Ah... opening the door only to be greeted by the forest. Damien could understand why Theo looked uneasy about the idea.
"What are you talking about? It’s wonderful! You’ll feel the pure and refreshing air of the trees right at your doorstep. If anything, I’d have preferred to build even deeper into the forest," Elyon said enthusiastically.
Elyon’s delighted tone contrasted sharply with Theo’s hesitant expression.
Although his eccentricity was often remarked upon by others of his kind, moments like this confirmed to Damien that Elyon was very much an elf at heart.
"Teacher, if we build any deeper into the forest, it will cause significant issues with the transport and maintenance. Please reconsider it again," Sebas interjected firmly.
"See? Sebas here keeps nagging about it, so I compromised. You should be grateful," Elyon replied with a mock sigh of exasperation.
Damien silently agreed—he truly was grateful for Sebas’s efforts to rein in Elyon’s whims.
"Yes, yes, thank you, Teacher," Sebas said, his tone drier than usual as he addressed Elyon.
The exchange was oddly amusing—something Damien wasn’t accustomed to seeing from Sebas.
In the end, Damien couldn’t help but think that the two of them got along surprisingly well despite everything.
Still, as much as Damien wanted to continue observing the back-and-forth between Elyon and Sebas, there were more pressing matters at hand.
"So, um, how exactly are you planning to build it? We don’t even have any materials."
After all, they were planning to construct the mansion in just one day.
There wasn’t much time to leisurely chat about it.
Perhaps sensing the same curiosity, the others who had been looking around or peeking into the forest began to gather nearby.
"Fuhfuhfuhfuh... That, my dear Damien, is something to look forward to later," Elyon said with a sly grin.
"Teacher doesn’t even share the finer details with us," Theo said with a wry smile, glancing at Elyon’s smug expression. "He even went and changed the entire blueprint by himself."
"Wait, changed the entire blueprint? Is that really okay?" Damien asked, startled.
He recalled seeing Sebas and Elyon discussing the plans together not long ago.
From the way Theo phrased it, though, it sounded like Elyon had gone ahead and altered them unilaterally.
"The original layout seemed somewhat outdated in style, although it was otherwise perfectly functional," Sebas explained with an air of composure. "The real issue is that since my Teacher changed everything about the upper levels, the design for the underground had to be adjusted as well."
"I only asked to move the entrance, didn’t I?" Elyon protested.
"Even so, it created additional work. Consider it a debt owed," Sebas replied flatly.
"Tch... Fine, I’ll admit it," Elyon grumbled, clearly displeased as Sebas gave a rare satisfied smirk.
They really do get along well, Damien thought again, amused.
"Well then, since you’ve gone to such lengths, I assume you’ve already completed the new blueprint for the underground?" Elyon asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course, Teacher. I worked tirelessly, sacrificing sleep and shedding tears to complete it," Sebas replied dramatically.
"Pfft!" Damien couldn’t help but laugh, imagining the utterly unrealistic picture of Sebas working by candlelight with tears streaming down his face as he scribbled furiously.
Even Theo, who managed to stifle a full laugh, was trembling with suppressed mirth.
"Enough of that!" Elyon growled, glaring lightly at them. "Let me see it."
"Here it is," Sebas said, handing over the blueprint.
Elyon studied the design carefully before nodding. "Very well. I’ll ask you this—can we finalize this as the definitive plan and begin with the construction?"
"Yes, it’s fine as it is. If the need arises, we can always expand it further later. For now, this should suffice," Sebas replied, nodding in response to Elyon’s final confirmation.
Damien didn’t know all the details, but from what he’d gathered, the underground area was designed as a storage space.
If it ever reached full capacity, they planned to excavate further to expand it.
Sebas had mentioned that, even over the course of decades, the current size should be sufficient.
"Very well. Let’s begin. I’ll be digging out the basement, so all of you, move back behind me," Elyon instructed.
At last, it seemed the construction was about to start.
Following Elyon’s direction, everyone retreated to a safe distance behind him.
How exactly are they going to build this? Damien wondered.
Since Elyon was helping, Damien had expected the use of magic, and it seemed everyone else did too.
Their compliance wasn’t just out of curiosity to witness elven magic—perhaps even their strongest kind—but also because no one wanted to risk getting caught in the process.
From what Theo and Sebas had mentioned earlier, even though magic could be used to extract and process materials like stone and wood, they’d never heard of anyone constructing an entire building purely through magic.
That was something only an elf could attempt—something beyond human capability.
However, how was Elyon going to pull it off?
"Alright, is everyone clear? From this point on, do not step in front of me under any circumstances," Elyon warned.
Closing his eyes, Elyon began chanting a spell.
A faint magic sigil briefly appeared in front of him before disappearing, but unlike his usual spells that activated instantly, this one seemed far more serious.
Elyon continued chanting for an extended period, his concentration unbroken.
Damien had thought the spell would be something straightforward, like a magic-enhanced digging process, but this was clearly on a whole other level—a grand-scale spell.
The earlier casual atmosphere among the group shifted.
Everyone was now visibly tense, sensing the gravity of the situation.
"■■■■■■!"
After several minutes of chanting, Elyon’s spell was complete.
There was no sound, no dramatic display, but the results of the magic were instantly apparent.
