Help! My Male Employees Are Having Babies!-Chapter 90: Guardian Angels Don’t Always Have Wings, Sometimes They Lactate
Chapter 90: Guardian Angels Don’t Always Have Wings, Sometimes They Lactate
Leo and Emma couldn’t help but wonder at the way Hyden was treated. Something wasn’t right here—his son was here, but who was the mother, and who was this Daniel?
Emma smiled and introduced herself along with her husband. Hyden shook her hand and then hugged her neck.
"Since we’re all in this together here, we might as well get to know one another. My name is Hyden Spinelli. My husband will be down shortly—he’s upstairs at this time and his name is Daniel Spinelli."
Now Emma thought she understood. They were a young gay couple and this was a child born by surrogate, which was fine with her. Everyone has a life.
"How is the child’s mother holding up?" Emma asked with a smile.
Hyden chuckled and smiled. "Emma, he’s my son. I birthed him. His father is upstairs. You’re speaking with a Genman."
Leo and Emma were both blown away. They had seen Genmen in passing out in the countryside but had never spoken to one, and here was one right here carrying on an intelligent conversation. He was nothing like she was taught in schools or in grad school about them being subpar or even less than humans.
She apologized for her ignorance in the matter and took Hyden’s hand in hers. "We all must lean on each other in times like these. I’m very glad to know you, and if I can do anything for you, let me know please. My husband and I don’t have much in life, and it doesn’t look like our Allison will be with us long."
The young mother’s actions concerned Hyden. "Is she not progressing in her life’s cycle?"
Emma shook her head no. This caused Hyden to become emotional and the tears flowed. Leo was not able to comprehend why a Genman would care about a human child—the same humans that treat them like the scourge of the planet—and here’s one crying over his infant daughter.
The three sat down and began to talk, and it was amazing what Emma and Leo discovered about Genmen and their deep emotional connection to one another and their children.
"I have no milk for my child because I delivered early. There is very little here, and what there is available, she doesn’t want to take to it. The formula is not any good for her. She’s on a nasal tube, some oxygen, and IVs—that’s the only thing keeping my daughter alive. If there was some kind of miracle that could help her, I would give my last breath," Emma started.
Unknown to them, Daniel had walked in and heard the entire conversation. He took his place by Hyden’s side and wrapped his arm around him.
"Hyden, you know Genman nectar is the most nutritious and has healing properties that any Genman child can consume right after birth. That’s what’s helping Patrick get better—your nectar."
"I have plenty. It’s not human milk, no, but Genman nectar. If nursed directly from the source, it has a healing property that passes from the dad to the child for quick and rapid growth and strength. Plus, the nectar carries ten times the amount of nutrition that human breast milk can carry. If you will allow me, I will share this with your child to see if possibly it might help her. Plus, Daniel just gave birth upstairs, so he has plenty to go around," Hyden looked at Emma.
"You would do this for our daughter—someone you know nothing about—for human parents that you don’t even know?" Leo looked at Hyden and Daniel.
"For the love of a child, a Genman will go to the ends of the earth to protect it and to make sure that it has everything that is needed. So yes, we will gladly help you in this matter. Besides, you never know—one of our children might end up being friends sometime in life with Allison," Daniel smiled.
A worried look came upon Emma’s face. "I don’t know if the doctors will allow that."
"Let me handle that. I’ve got a plan," Hyden smiled.
---
At the next feeding cycle, Emma and Hyden walked into the NNICU and took their places with each other’s child. Hyden gently lifted the fragile human child and placed her upon his nipple, and boy did she latch on. She was extremely hungry, and the Genman nectar was just what the doctor had not ordered yet.
Leo and Daniel watched the miracle taking place before their eyes. Allison’s body was reacting to the healing properties almost immediately. Leo watched his daughter’s monitor stats improve as she nursed. When the nurses came in and realized what was going on, but when she saw the monitors and this extremely premature baby’s stats were improving, she smiled, turned around, and left them to their miracle.
After the feeding session was over, Hyden and Emma left their babies in their incubators and returned to the waiting area. Leo couldn’t help himself—he grabbed Hyden and hugged him and laid a kiss upon his cheek.
"You’re her daughter’s guardian angel, sent down to save her life. We are forever in debt to you for any and everything that you can do for her. We can never repay you for your act of kindness, but whatever we can do, we will try our best."
---
As the parents sat in the waiting room, they got to know each other very well. Emma was an assistant museum curator and cultural arts major in college. But due to all of the problems she was having in her pregnancy, her job was terminated. Leo had been hanging on by a thread as a landscape architect and design engineer. He had made some of the most lavish gardens in the city for developments, but it’s just like anything else—no matter what you do, when you can’t do it for a little while, you’re swept away like trash.
Emma and Hyden bonded, as did Daniel and Leo.
"Follow me down to the cafeteria and we can bring back something for the others," Daniel asked Leo.
As these two oddballs walked down the hallway—Genman and human alike—everyone kind of stepped back and stared. A huge, tall, nice beefy Genman and an equally impressive human male talking like they had known each other for years.
Daniel set a tray down upon the table where Leo was sitting with his head in his hands.
"What’s up, my friend? It can’t be all that bad. Your daughter is starting to turn around the bend and will be better soon."
"That was my boss on the phone—or should I say ex-boss. He doesn’t care and could care less. I just lost my job. The rent is overdue. Emma doesn’t know it, but we’ve been locked out of our house. If I don’t come up with money today for all of the back rent, all of our possessions are gone. I know they’re just things, but still, there are things—stuff that we collected and things for Allison. When we leave here, I have no idea where we’ll go. And if we don’t have a home, social services will take our child. If she gets caught in the system, we will never see her again."
Daniel placed his hand on Leo’s. "You now have friends in high places. Don’t worry about where you will live—just remember you will always have a home no matter what. It might not be inside the city, but I don’t like to brag—I’ve got great connections. Now eat something, and I’m going to go make a few little calls myself and see what we can work out. Don’t tell Emma or Hyden anything—we don’t want them getting stressed."
"How could I tell her that? Everything this went on, my wife would lose her mind," Leo drew a deep breath.
