Chapter 214: Chapter 214 A trip to the past Ix

Daniel Lancaster knew he was no longer safe anymore. The way he was being attacked by everyone in the music palace was solid proof.

All alone in a strange place with no one but himself, it only made him withdraw even more, and now he was officially a member of the music palace, lodged there with the other winners.

While walking through the barricade at the biggest floor, he was called by a worker who had been strictly instructed to take him to his room.

"Follow me to your room now..." the lady in all black—more like a widow—ordered, and Daniel nodded and followed.

His body was so cold. Despite his heavy clothing and long sleeves, the weather didn’t do him any justice at all. Daniel slowly followed her without questioning, his eyes on the floor, drifting as he thought about his family and the few friends he had made back at his school.

All of those little things that gave him joy, at least made him feel like life was worth living, were all gone. Now he was more like an empty shell living a life that didn’t seem to belong to him at all.

It was more like he was living his father’s dream through another body, and now his love for music had been draining away because every joy he once felt when playing the piano and singing through the microphone had suddenly turned into a job that had to be done, and if not achieved, a punishment so severe he couldn’t even imagine it would be waiting for him.

Still conflicted and lost in his thoughts, Daniel kept walking until he saw the woman stop. He then took a proper look and realized that this part of the palace was like an abandoned alley which led to whatever place they were headed to. Whether it was an attic or something else, Daniel was completely lost.

The lady didn’t say anything anymore. She just pointed at the door, turned the knob, and then turned around, saying a word.

"Your room."

And like a dreadful omen, she walked away, looking more like one of those evil nuns he had watched in horror movies. Daniel didn’t reply to her. He let her leave, then returned his gaze back to the room and pushed the door more ajar, making it produce a ridiculous groaning sound before loads of bats flew out, attacking him and making him stagger around, almost causing him to fall off the stairs that barely held his back straight.

Daniel’s face turned ice cold as he became more aware that he could have died. Due to panic, he had almost fallen off the floor he was brought to. Frightened now, he sharply turned to the empty room and then turned placid when he saw that the room wasn’t just miserable, but utterly disgusting.

The bed at the center was more of a nest. Same with the lines of cobwebs, which could rival that of an electric pole, and if that wasn’t irritating enough, the lines of cockroaches rushing out from a nearby crack made him lose his cool instantly.

No matter how poor he was, his phobia for cockroaches couldn’t let him sleep in that. He could literally get a panic attack.

But what could he do? This was what he was given. A rich institution, yet what was available for the number one best winner was a room that looked more like a stable than a normal guest room. Controlling his escalating heart rate, he held his breath and entered the room.

"Fuck!! Even the dust isn’t helping," he groaned in sheer agony.

This was the worst. Being a winner was nothing more than being subjected to lines of suffering, and about what he heard—he was caught, and here he still was. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

He could be murdered and no one would care. Even Xylander wasn’t helping. There was no difference between him and his father. All of them were just a bunch of evil souls who preyed on helpless people before they ate them up completely.

Talk more of eating—he was hungry and needed to freshen up because the outfit he was wearing was biting him from the inside out. So, being unable to contain the heat, he decided to pull it all off, to take those burdens off his body, and when he was only in his boxers, he heard a knock.

He froze, stopping in his tracks, and bent his neck through his suffocating outfit to see who it was, but he couldn’t move properly with that much pressure on his neck. So he continued removing the rest of the outfit until he was in his underwear and singlet.

Free now, he walked to the door and opened it, alarmed by the face he saw.

Towering over him was Mr. Wolfe, the predator he had seen doing such evil acts to those children. He couldn’t hold it anymore as he staggered back, stepping on his own toes. While backing away, he saw the man glance at him from head to toe, licking his lips and making a sexual gesture with his hands, which Daniel, in his naive state, didn’t fully understand.

But he knew enough to realize that he was in danger.

The beast was here again.

And he was all alone with him.

"Don’t be scared. I am not here to harm you... at least not yet. So this is important information. You’re requested to be seen in an emergency performance which will be displayed to the public, and you’re to follow me now and do that while keeping your mouth about what you saw at the inner room shut. Is that clear?" he barked.

Daniel nodded his head completely like a lizard.

This was a big opportunity. To be requested for a private performance meant the audience itself had noticed him fully, but that still wouldn’t protect him from the wrath of these managers who looked so eager to have their paws on him.

Daniel wanted to leave and dress up, but the man refused to let him out of his sight.

"Where are you rushing off to? Come with me. I will dress you up myself."

That came out like a deep command.

Discomfort grew in him even more as his heart rate rose once again, then it all stopped when the man grabbed his hand and yanked him out of the room without mercy. Carrying him over his shoulder like someone who had caught an offender, he took him to a dresser at the close end of the theater, and he locked the door completely, leaving them alone in the dark.

One hour later, Daniel came out from the room all shivering like a drenched bird. His scream from earlier had been muffled, and when he said something about reporting to his father, the man showed him documents.

"Contract of ownership: My son here, Daniel Lancaster, is hereby your belonging to be used and controlled anyhow, as long as I get my payment."

Those malicious, documented, cruel words were like a dagger into Daniel’s heart as he stumbled down to the floor, threatening to cry, but he just couldn’t.

He felt dirty.

The hands of the monstrous man running around his body, touching his dick and lips, made a deep bile rise from his throat. Although he didn’t force himself on him because of an interruption, how long would that last? One day he might end up getting hurt so badly that he might not make it to tell the story, so he had to escape.

Now how possible was that when he was literally the Wolfe family’s property?

He now despised them all, including that pretentious bitch of a son. He planned this—to bring him into such a place, didn’t he?

His temper was over the edge until a paper was shoved into his face.

"Perform that piece and make sure you don’t fuck it up, because I will tell everyone that you’re not the rich kid your father pretended you were, and everyone will turn against you immediately."

Daniel’s jaw dropped at that statement. He had almost forgotten that they forged their identity to get into the theater in the first place, but now his father was getting huge money while he was being used here. How sweet of him.

"One reminder—we don’t treat wretched souls like you guys so weakly, especially conniving liars. So seal that mouth or you shall see yourself in the grave."

She ended that conversation, not leaving any choice for Daniel. Talia walked away with her head held high.

But he was completely under him and her property.
