The massive beast stumbled for a split second, and Shuan used that opportunity and slammed both hands onto the broken asphalt.

"Sink!"

Earth energy burst out violently. The already fractured highway completely collapsed beneath the mutated wild boar's front legs. The ground caved in, forming a deep pit that swallowed half of its massive body.

The boar crashed down heavily. Concrete, soil, and debris buried its legs up to the shoulders.

It let out a furious, ear-piercing squeal that vibrated through everyone's bones.

"Hold it down!" Major Kyle shouted.

Shuan's face turned pale as veins stood out on his neck. He clenched his teeth and forced more earth energy out of his body. The soil inside the pit hardened instantly, compressing around the boar's limbs like iron shackles.

The ground trembled as the mutated wild boar struggled to free itself.

"Serena!" Major Kyle shouted.

Serena immediately stepped forward. Her palms pressed onto the broken road.

Roots, vines, and thick plant tendrils burst out from the forest edges and from cracks in the highway itself. They shot toward the pit and wrapped around the boar's neck and torso, layering over each other like ropes binding a wild beast.

"Evin, freeze it!"

Cold air spread outward.

Evin thrust both hands forward, and frost expanded rapidly from the pit inward. The soil, the vines, the boar's trapped legs—everything was covered in thick, solid ice within seconds.

The entire pit turned into a frozen prison, and the boar was locked in place.

"Is it… restrained?" the low-level fire user asked nervously.

"No," Major Kyle said coldly. "Not yet."

The boar's body suddenly swelled.

Its muscles bulged grotesquely beneath its dark hide. Veins pulsed violently like thick worms beneath its skin.

Crack...

The ice fractured.

"Again!" Evin shouted desperately as more ice energy burst out from his body.

But the boar's strength was terrifying.

The frozen earth exploded outward in a violent shockwave. Shards of ice shot through the air like bullets. Several vines snapped instantly.

Its breathing was heavier now, and its killing intent had multiplied. It lowered its head, and steam burst from its nostrils. Then, it charged again.

"Split formation!" Major Kyle shouted.

Everyone scattered.

The boar rammed straight through the center of where they had been standing. The asphalt exploded under its hooves. The highway railing bent like paper as it smashed through it and skidded several meters before turning sharply.

It locked onto Shuan this time. Shuan's pupils shrank. The ground beneath him rose instantly as he tried to elevate himself with earth pillars.

But the boar was too fast.

It slammed into the forming stone pillar before it could fully rise. The structure shattered mid-air. Shuan was flung backward violently, tumbling across the broken road. He coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Before the boar could follow up, Dylan appeared again. His injured shoulder was still bleeding faintly despite Leo's healing, but his eyes were fierce.

He grabbed a chunk of broken concrete the size of a car hood. With a roar, he hurled it directly at the boar's face.

The concrete exploded on impact, and the boar's head jerked sideways slightly. That small distraction bought time.

Serena clenched her jaw as massive thorned vines erupted from the forest edge. This time, they weren't thin restraints. They were thick, hard, and covered with sharp wooden spikes. They lashed forward like whips.

One vine wrapped tightly around the boar's hind leg. Another coiled around its neck. A third pierced into its wounded eye socket, forcing it to recoil violently.

"Water!" Major Kyle shouted.

The water ability users immediately concentrated a stream mid-air and blasted straight into the boar's face, targeting its remaining eye.

The stream froze into a solid spear of ice that formed over the creature's eye, partially blinding it.

It was getting angrier, and its remaining eye glowed deeper red. And then, it changed targets again. This time, it locked onto Leo.

"Leo! Move!" Dylan shouted.

The ground behind Leo exploded as the tusks barely missed him. He rolled desperately to the side.

Major Kyle appeared in front of Leo instantly. Flames roared around his body. A wall of fire surged upward between the boar and Leo. The flames burned fiercely, distorting the air with intense heat. The boar charged straight through it.

It smashed through the fire wall and rammed toward Major Kyle. Major Kyle's pupils shrank. He crossed his arms.

The tusks collided with him.

He was thrown backward violently, rolling across the highway before crashing into an overturned car.

Blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.

"Major!" Serena shouted.

The boar turned sharply.

It intended to finish him.

Shuan, still kneeling on one side, slammed both palms onto the road again.

"Rise!"

A thick slab of asphalt erupted upward between the boar and Major Kyle.

Bang!

The boar smashed into it but slowed for just a fraction of a second.

That second, Dylan roared and leaped.

He grabbed one of the boar's tusks mid-charge. His muscles swelled explosively.

The boar's momentum forced Dylan backward, but he held on.

Veins bulged along his arms, and blood dripped from his injured shoulder. The boar shook its head violently, and Dylan was lifted into the air.

Before he could be flung away, Serena's vines shot forward again, this time wrapping around Dylan's waist and anchoring him to a tree trunk at the forest edge.

The combined force finally slowed the beast enough for one decisive attempt.

Major Kyle wiped the blood from his mouth. He narrowed his eyes and raised both hands.

Everyone was thrown backward by the blast. Dust and smoke swallowed everything.

For several seconds… no one could see or hear clearly. Only ringing in their ears.

When the smoke slowly began to clear, a massive, charred body lay at the center of a crater.

It destabilized its balance.

Serena forced the last of her strength out. A single, gigantic thorned vine burst from the forest like a spear and pierced straight through the boar's injured eye socket.

It penetrated deep.

The boar let out its final, agonized scream. At the same time, Evin froze the wound instantly. Water surged into the open flesh, and ice expanded inside.

Dylan charged.

Ignoring his injuries, he leaped onto the raised platform and drove both fists down into the boar's skull with every ounce of strength he had left.

A deep fracture formed across its head.

Major Kyle stepped forward one last time with a small flame flickering in his palm. He shot it directly into the cracked skull.
