HELP! These Girls Wants To Kill Me-Chapter 260
The moment Yang Ze waved his hand, the scene in the room blurred before the entire room was filled with modern appliances. A fridge, an air conditioner, a luxurious bed, tables, chairs, and even a small cleaning robot appeared.
But that wasn't the end, on the wall was a large television mounted upon which an old cartoon was playing out. But it wasn't just the sight, Yang Ze could even hear the music from the television. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
The previous mouldy smell that was filled with the scent of blood and medicine was gone, replaced by a faint fragrance of room freshener.
Closing his eyes, Yang Ze felt like he was back on Earth.
He even reached out to touch the bed, but just like before, the moment his hand came in contact with it, it passed through.
"Still not real…" Although Yang Ze was a bit disappointed in his heart, he quickly cheered up. Compared to before, his illusions could now create sound and smell, making it almost indistinguishable from reality. If not for the fact that the illusion couldn't be touched, even Yang Ze wouldn't have been able to tell it apart from reality.
"Well… Can I create some elemental attacks with it?" Previously, Yang Ze tried incorporating his illusion attacks with real attacks to confuse his enemy, but the outcome wasn't that great. His illusory attacks looked extremely rough, and they just never felt the same as the real attacks.
Now with his talent upgraded to the Gold rank, he wanted to see just how different it was going to be.
Without wasting another moment, Yang Ze raised his hand, and the next moment, a large ball of fire appeared in his hand. It looked extremely real and even illuminated the entire room, but it was missing something extremely basic and the most important thing about the fire…
Heat.
There was just no heat in it. Even with half the room covered in flame, the temperature didn't change in the slightest.
"How about water attacks?" Dismissing the illusory flames, Yang Ze waved his hand once again, summoning a ball of water, but even though it looked extremely real, he could tell at a glance that there was something off about it.
He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he knew it was fake the instant he saw it.
"Tch." Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he tried other elements too, but no matter what he did, something always seemed to be missing.
He even conjured a wind blade from his talent and then another from his illusion, and compared the two of them side by side. Just one glance and he could tell which one was real. Not because he conjured them both, but because there was always something missing in the illusory one that the current him didn't understand.
In the end, he could only let out a helpless sigh and disperse the illusion, and with it, the room returned to its previous state.
"Well, at least it consumes much less mental energy than the Mystic Nether Art." Yang Ze could only console himself like that as he picked up the talisman book once again and began to read it using Enlightenment.
In less than five minutes, he had managed to remember every single word in the book. The book was completely imprinted in his mind, so much so that he could even read it backwards.
Exhaling a mouthful of turbid air, Yang Ze placed it down, walked to the side of the room where a bunch of discarded old tree barks were piled up and after rummaging through them, picked up the one he thought was the most suitable.
It was roughly the size of his palm, and there would be occasional debris falling from it while Yang Ze carried it towards the other corner of the room. Yang Ze was afraid that applying a little force would break this thing into pieces, especially with his strength, so every action he performed was as gentle as it could have been.
He first poured a bunch of liquids into an empty bowl, mixed them and then placed the tree bark in it carefully before picking it up and placing it above the fire.
He then recalled everything that he had read in the book and began to stir it gently, occasionally adding additional liquid from time to time.
The hard bark that looked like it could shatter at any moment slowly turned into jelly like substance under the constant heat and mixtures of solutions.
It wasn't until a few hours had passed that the process finally ended, and what was left in the bowl was an extremely soft jelly-like thing that he could hold.
"Now the final process." Muttering to himself, he picked it up carefully and placed it above the fire, only letting the heat reach it instead of the flames.
And sure enough… within moments, the jelly began to solidify as it slowly hardened, and in the end, what was left in Yang Ze's hands was a piece of rough paper that looked no different than the ones he had seen in his previous life.
"That's it?" Looking at the piece of paper in his hand, Yang Ze was stunned for a long time. He even picked up the talisman book and compared the paper from both of them. To his confusion, both of them felt exactly the same.
Yang Ze didn't just stop there, but he kept on picking up and comparing the tons of books scattered in the room with the paper in his hand, but it all felt the same.
"What the hell…" Yang Ze couldn't help but scratch his head in confusion.
"Such a long and complicated process, just for a piece of paper?" The more he looked at it, the more he found himself at a loss for words.
He couldn't believe that after going through such a lengthy process, he would end up with a piece of paper.
He even read the talisman book again, just to make sure he didn't misread it or stray from the process. But no matter how hard he looked, he didn't find anything amiss. He didn't make any mistakes and followed everything written in the book before ending up with this piece of paper.
"What now?" Yang Ze couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows before he realised he hadn't used his all-seeing eyes to check it.
The moment this thought came to his mind, he immediately used his All-Seeing eyes to take a look at the piece of paper, and the moment he glanced at the description, his eyes narrowed into slits.
[Ruined Talisman Paper: Something that could be used to wipe away your tears.]
Ignoring the snarky description, Yang Ze couldn't help but rub the paper in his hand. From the name, it was clear that this was indeed a talisman paper. Now he just needed to find a way not to ruin it.
"Something in the process." Yang Ze wasn't willing to give up this easily. Especially after he realised that he might be able to craft talismans, although he wasn't sure about their power, he had a feeling that it might bring him a great surprise.
So, for the next few hours, Yang Ze devoted himself completely to refining the talisman paper.
He followed every step carefully, but no matter what he did, the end result remained the same.
"Perhaps the book has some mistakes." This was the only explanation he could come up with, so after a brief hesitation, Yang Ze used his Enlightenment to craft the talisman paper while making slight changes in the solutions.
But the moment he made changes in the solution, the end results were even more ridiculous.
Oftentimes, there wouldn't even be a jelly-like substance or a piece of paper. The piece of tree bark would simply dissolve into the mixture.
And sometimes the bowl would even explode into countless pieces, filling the entire basement with a rotten smell.
"JUST WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH IT?" Standing in front of the talisman book, Yang Ze kept on looking at it, reading every single word carefully, afraid that he might have missed something, but no matter how much he looked, nothing changed. The process was the same, and the end result was no different.
The more Yang Ze thought about it, the more frustrated he got. It was the first time he faced such a situation where even his Enlightenment couldn't help him.
"Just a few more times." Even though his Enlightenment couldn't help him get a perfect answer in one go, every failure was etched into his mind, making him aware of what was causing the problem. He had a feeling that after trying for a few more times, he would be able to come up with a perfect solution.
Thinking like this, his hand reached towards the pile of tree bark before he realised that he had unknowingly used all of them.
"...." Yang Ze looked at the empty space beside him with a stunned face, wondering when he would use them up.
And it was at this exact moment that the sound of a muffled laughter reached his ears.
"Hehehehehehehehe"
Even though the person laughing seemed to be having difficulty, it didn't diminish the mockery in it.
"Oh, so you are awake." Turing his head, Yang Ze looked at the middle-aged naked woman who was tied up with a piece of cloth stuffed in her mouth before walking towards her.
Without a single word, he waved his hand, disintegrating the cloth in her mouth.
"Do you know where the mistake lies?"
The woman slightly opened her mouth, but instead of answering him, she let out a shrill laughter.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA"
Yang Ze tried talking to her, but in the end, helplessly stuffed a piece of cloth in her mouth, finally shutting her mad laughter.
"Forget it." Taking a deep breath, Yang Ze threw away the talisman book and rubbed the area between his eyebrows to ease the discomfort.
"NO need to waste time over such a meaningless thing."
"I am here for another mission." Consoling himself, Yang Ze wanted to head out from the basement and take a look around the house, but before he could even take a step forward, his eyes were attracted by an extremely thin and long piece of wood that was coming from the other room, trying to lift the wooden board that Yang Ze used to lock the door.
"This girl… still trying?" Looking at her actions, Yang Ze couldn't help but shake his head with a smile. The previous gloom in his heart had lessened considerably after he glanced at the actions of the girl.
Taking a deep breath, he walked in front of the door and then, without any hesitation, opened it.
And the moment Yang Ze opened the door, what greeted his sight was the figure of a young girl, who seemed barely fourteen years old, holding a thin, long piece of wood that she dropped before taking out a crude knife from her clothes and rushing towards Yang Ze to stab him.
"Now, listen… I was…" Before Yang Ze could even finish his sentence, seven deafening bell chimes suddenly interrupted him.
"Huh!?" Listening to the bells chime, he couldn't help but look up in confusion, wondering what was going on.
The first thought that came to his mind was that the body of the woman he had thrown into the boiling pot had been discovered. The moment this thought came to his mind, he looked at the girl who was now using all her strength to stab him, hoping to plunge the knife in her hand into his stomach.
"I will deal with you in a while." Shaking his head, he raised his hand, manifested a rope and tied up the girl before throwing her inside the room once again and then rushed outside the basement,
The moment he was outside the basement, he was greeted by the sight of an old woman who was walking towards him.
The moment Yang Ze looked at her, the old woman also noticed his presence as her footsteps came to a complete halt.
Taking a deep breath, she then shouted at the top of her lungs.
"The Annual Gathering will take place in two hours."
"I am here to escort you all."
