Help!! This Girl Is A Yandere!!!-Chapter 36: Seismar
Fyrex and the other wolves all wore proud, almost smug expressions on their blood-streaked faces. They stood tall and unwavering, like loyal soldiers awaiting the verdict of a warlord they revered. They knew—deep in their bones—that their Alpha would be pleased.
"Is it from the corpses of the other Monsters?" Xavier asked, one eyebrow arched.
"Rarf!" Fyrex barked affirmatively, nodding with pride.
"Did they attack you while I was unconscious?" Xavier continued, narrowing his eyes.
Nod
"And not only did you manage to fend them off, but you launched a counteroffensive and slaughtered every last one of them?"
Nod.
"Did you use any of the Cores?" he asked, voice soft, but probing. "You can tell me honestly. I won’t mind."
Shake shake.
Fyrex shook his head with certainty. No hesitation. No shame.
"But why?" Xavier muttered, brows furrowing. "The Cores from the Monsters you personally killed should belong to you."
"Rarf! Rarf!" Fyrex responded with a huff.
"What’s that? You say the Cores are mine, even if you’re the ones who killed them—because I’m your Alpha?"
Nod.
"Hmm..."
Xavier crossed his arms, his eyes distant, thoughtful, almost cold.
’I do not plan on breaking through to Tier 1 yet... not now, not with this batch of Cores. Especially not with just a mere Level 3 Feral Grade Core, which also happens to be the highest-level Core among the ten we’ have gathered.’
’It might have been possible if I was at Level 9 or Level 10. But in my current state, I would be hitting a wall.’
’Besides... I do not want Cores that only carry basic elemental Principles—Fire, Water, Earth, Wind... I want more... something better but which also suits me.’
His lips curled slightly, the hint of a grin playing on his face.
’Let’s be truly honest with myself over here. What I want are rare Principles—Principles that go beyond the norms.’
’It will be the best if it can be...’
’The Principle of Soul... Space... or even Time itself.’
A low breath left him.
’But that is a dream far out of reach for the current me. No point chasing shadows for now.’
’At this point, I will make do with whatever Ungraded Cores I can find. The real issue, though, is that Ungraded Monsters rarely drop Cores. It is going to be a grind to get to Level 10.’
Xavier turned to Fyrex.
"Fyrex, do you mind if I do not give you the Feral Grade Cores?"
Shake shake
Fyrex shook his head again. Neither he nor the others had any greed for the Cores or the corpses of their fallen enemies at all. To them, every last drop of blood of the monsters belonged to Xavier, their Alpha, by default. No questions asked.
"Thanks, man." Xavier said, with a thumbs up.
He turned toward the wolves, eyes scanning their bloodied bodies and bruised limbs, trying to recall who had contributed the most during the battles.
’That Level 9 Ungraded Wolf is a must. And... oh, those guys!’
His eyes locked onto a specific group of wolves.
’They fought hard. After Fyrex, me, and the Level 9 Wolf, these six gave it their all. They definitely earned it.’
"Alright then," Xavier announced, his voice loud and clear, "As I said before, it’s time for me to reward you."
"You six! Step forward!"
The six wolves he pointed at stepped up with tense excitement in their eyes. They were honored beyond words, trembling slightly—not out of fear, but reverence.
"Hup!"
Thud
Xavier dismounted from Fyrex and strode toward the small pile of glowing Cores. His fingers wrapped around the highest-level Core—the one that came from the Level 3 Feral Grade Mace Tail Hyena Fyrex had slain on his own.
With deliberate steps, he walked up to the Level 9 Ungraded Wolf.
’Hmm?’
He stopped.
The wolf was staring at him in shock, its mouth slightly agape. The other five wolves he had summoned looked equally confused. The entire pack—even Fyrex—stared at Xavier with disbelief in their sharp eyes.
They had all assumed Xavier would use the Cores himself. Especially the Feral Grade ones. That was the way of the wild—power was hoarded by the strongest. At most, they thought he might toss a few leftover corpses their way and call it charity and they would accept it with open hearts.
But this?
Giving away a Feral Grade Core—the strongest one at that?
It was unthinkable.
The kindest Alpha among beasts might have rewarded his pack with scraps... but never something this valuable.
Xavier did not miss their expressions.
’Huh? Why are they looking at me like that?’
’Is it because I am giving them the Cores?’
A faint smile tugged at his lips.
’Well, I guess that might be the case... but it is not really a loss for me. After all, I do not need these Cores. Might as well hand them over to someone who does.’
He lifted the Core.
"Say, Aah~"
The wolf tilted its head before mimicking him and opening its mouth. It looked thrilled—on the verge of tears if it were human. Never in its life had it imagined reaching Feral Grade. But now... now it stood on the precipice of evolution. And all thanks to the one in front of it.
"Catch."
Xavier tossed the Core straight into its maw.
Gulp
It swallowed it in one go.
Flash!
An earthen light burst forth from the wolf’s body, enveloping it like a cocoon of raw power. The entire pack stepped back in awe.
’So it is finally happening...’
’After feeding them all these Tier 1 Cores and corpses, most of them should hit Level 7. Seven of them should evolve into Feral Grade.’
’After that, I will push deeper into this cursed forest... until I find a monster with the rare Principles I want.’
’But the rarer the Principle, the more dangerous the creature that carries it. If luck is on my side, I might just find one a whole Grade below my pack.’
’That way, I might be able to rip its Core out with my own hands.’
’And if not... I will just have to do it the hard way.’
"Hmm?" Xavier squinted as the glowing light reached its climax.
Flash!
"Gah, damn. That’s some brightness."
He shielded his eyes as the final blinding pulse erupted.
Then silence.
Until...
Krrk... Krrk...
"Oh?"
Earthen shards erupted from the ground, coating the wolf’s transforming body. Stone plates rippled across its frame like armor forming over muscle.
Flash!
The light dimmed.
Everyone stared.
The creature before them was no longer just a wolf—it was something else entirely.
Its fur had transformed into a rugged, earthen hide. Shades of dusky brown and cracked gray melded into jagged armor that blanketed its shoulders, thighs, and flanks. Its eyes burned a faint, molten bronze. Its legs were thick and muscular, with massive paws that cratered the ground beneath it.
Its claws had turned granite—jagged and capable of ripping through stone. Its tail was now a hammer-like club that looked like it could level walls. Even its teeth shimmered with a mineral gleam, as if dipped in crushed crystals.
A jagged crest of rocky spikes jutted from its spine, giving it an intimidating silhouette.
"Woah~" Xavier breathed.
"Aooah~!" the wolves howled in awe.
’Damn. Now that is what I call evolution.’
The now-transformed wolf looked directly at Xavier.
A moment passed between them—nothing but eye contact.
Then—
Slrp. Slrp.
"D-Don’t... it tickles—hahahaha!"
The Earthen Wolf licked Xavier all over, aggressively.
It was only after an entire minute of intense slobbering that the wolf finally stopped.
"Haha... haah... haa..." Xavier tried to catch his breath.
He looked at the beast and gently placed a hand on its stone-plated head.
"From now on," he said softly, "you shall be known as..."
"Seismar."
"Awoo!"
The beast howled triumphantly, the name accepted and etched into its soul. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Do you like it?" Xavier asked.
Nod
"Thought so." He smiled.
"You are Level Two Feral Grade now, just like Fyrex, right?"
"Awoo!"
"That’s amazing," Xavier said, rubbing its head again.
"Good boy."
"Rarf!"
"Just like Fyrex."
Xavier turned to the others.
"Now Seismar, would you mind stepping aside and letting your comrades receive their share of the rewards?"
"Rarf!" Seismar barked and moved aside.
And just like that, almost an entire hour passed as Xavier personally oversaw the evolution of every selected wolf. Each one shocked all over again when they were handed Feral Grade Cores instead of mere scraps.
They all ascended to Feral Grade—each one becoming an Earthen Wolf, much like Seismar. Though none matched his bulk or heavy armor, they were also powerful in their own right.
’Seven Feral Grade Monsters under my command...’
Xavier’s smile twisted into a hideous grin that would even make villains nervous.
’Now we are getting somewhere.’
’But soon, those numbers are going to increase.’ He thought.
"All right! Next up it’s you, you, and you!" Xavier pointed to more a few more Ungraded Wolves.
