Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method-Chapter 428: Demon Duke Got Sunburned
Navrel’s body burned with abyssal flames. Its wounds were still open, but the demonic aura around it was thicker than before.
It threw its head back and roared. "[Devouring Roar]!"
The sound wave exploded outward again, darker and heavier this time.
The air twisted under the pressure as the roar tried to crush Sorien’s radiant field.
Sorien did not step back and only watched it calmly.
"Do you think," he said evenly, "that becoming louder makes you stronger?"
Navrel’s eyes burned with fury.
Sorien’s golden domain remained steady around him.
"Your power increased," Sorien continued, "but my domain is still here."
The radiant light expanded again, pressing down on the demonic aura. "All demonic beings inside it are weakened."
Navrel growled. "Then I will eat it!"
It spread its claws and activated another skill. "[Abyssal Devour]!"
A massive dark vortex formed in front of it. The swirling void began pulling at the golden light, trying to absorb Sorien’s domain energy directly.
The sky twisted where the vortex spun. Golden particles were pulled toward the vortex but slowly.
Navrel frowned upon seeing it. He didn’t expect the radiant mana to resist.
Sorien tilted his head slightly. "Didn’t I tell you?"
His voice remained calm. "This domain was designed for beings like you."
Navrel’s jaw tightened. "Damn it! I already used [Blood of the Abyss]!"
The vortex intensified, but the absorption remained limited.
Sorien’s aura did not collapse.
Navrel’s expression turned savage. "No matter what..."
It folded its wings tightly and shot forward. "I will kill you here!"
Dark energy gathered around its claws. "[Shadow Claw Rend]!"
The claw came down toward Sorien at high speed, space tearing under the force.
Sorien did not move his body. He simply lifted one hand slightly.
The remaining radiant swords reacted instantly.
Several blades crossed in front of him, forming a precise barrier of light.
The demonic claw struck the swords.
Boom!
Shockwaves spread across the sky. Golden and black energy clashed violently.
Navrel pushed harder.
The swords trembled but did not break.
Navrel frowned deeply.
Sorien looked at it calmly. "You are indeed strong."
He raised his other hand slowly. "But unfortunately for you..."
His eyes sharpened. "Your opponent is me."
Behind Sorien’s back, one single sword of light began to form.
It was different from the others, and Navrel noticed it too late.
"[Silent Severance]."
The sword disappeared.
Then...
It reappeared directly in front of Navrel’s chest.
A thin line of light passed through the dragon’s body.
There was no sound.
Navrel’s eyes widened.
For a brief second, nothing happened.
Then a deep cut opened across its armored chest, slicing through scale and flesh with perfect precision.
Dark blood spilled into the air.
Navrel staggered backward, its claw pulling away from the radiant swords. "How..."
Sorien hovered calmly, golden light still steady around him.
"It’s just my skill," he said simply.
He did not look proud. He did not look excited. He only looked certain.
Navrel lowered its head slightly, staring at the deep wound across its chest.
"To think..." it muttered hoarsely, "I would fall... at the hands of humans."
Its aura flickered violently, trying to surge again.
But the radiant domain suppressed it immediately. The golden pressure tightened.
Navrel tried to move once more, but its strength was already fading.
Sorien extended his hand slightly. The remaining radiant swords aligned once again.
"You were sealed once," he said calmly. "And you should have remained sealed."
The swords shot forward.
They pierced through Navrel’s body cleanly this time, striking vital points with precise coordination.
Navrel let out one final roar, but it lacked power. Its body trembled.
The abyssal flames around it flickered... then slowly died. The massive dragon fell from the sky.
Boom.
Its body crashed onto the rocky surface of the hidden island below, sending dust into the air.
Sorien slowly descended toward the ground, landing lightly not far from the dragon’s fallen body.
Dahlia flew down shortly after, landing beside him. She looked at the corpse and then at Sorien. "...Wow."
She crossed her arms. "Sir Sorien, to think you could kill it that cleanly."
Sorien gave a small, calm smile. "Of course."
He adjusted his sleeve slightly. "I am from Solmira."
His gaze shifted toward the dragon’s corpse. "Our clan exists to eliminate demons."
Dahlia nodded slowly. "Yeah... that was obvious."
She kicked a small stone toward the dragon’s body. "Still. That was strong."
Sorien looked toward the distant horizon. "Let us head to your master’s island."
Dahlia blinked and tilted her head. "My master’s island?"
Sorien nodded once. "Yes. He was the one who told me about this dragon after all."
Dahlia froze for a second. "...Wait. You’re serious?"
She stepped closer, looking at him carefully. "You mean Master contacted you?"
Sorien looked slightly confused by her reaction. "Yes."
Dahlia scratched her cheek. "It’s been a year since I heard from him."
Her tone was half annoyed, half amused. "He disappears for a year, and the first thing he does is report a demonic dragon?"
Sorien’s lips curved faintly. "That is correct."
Dahlia shook her head slowly. "That really sounds like him."
Sorien folded his hands behind his back. "Do you know what Garion has been doing?"
Dahlia let out a small breath. "I don’t know."
She looked up at the sky briefly. "Master isn’t normal. His mind works differently from the rest of us."
She shrugged. "Half the time we don’t understand what he’s planning."
Sorien nodded slightly. "I noticed."
Dahlia glanced toward the direction of the center island. "But if he called you..."
Her eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "Then he’s probably finished whatever he was building."
She crossed her arms. "And the fact that he knew what was happening with me..."
She smirked. "He must have been watching."
Sorien gave a calm nod. "That would not surprise me."
He looked down at the massive corpse of Navrel lying on the island. "Then let us bring the dragon."
Dahlia raised an eyebrow. "Bring it?"
Sorien looked at the corpse calmly. "As a gift."
Dahlia’s grin slowly widened. "Oh."
She walked closer to the dragon’s body and placed her hand on one of its scales. "That’s actually a good idea."
