His After The Heartbreak (BL)-Chapter 63: Karma’s Bitter Truth
Chapter 63 - Karma’s Bitter Truth
Chapter 63-Karma's Bitter Truth"
TYLER's POV
I heard the car drive off the moment I stepped inside the house. My heart clenched slightly, but I quickly shook off the feeling. It didn't matter anymore. Logan could take his fake pity and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
I barely had time to process my thoughts when my knock sounded on the door.
I turned, and before I could even reach the handle, the door flung open—revealing the one person I missed the most in the entire world.
Mom.
"Tyler..." she whispered, her voice breaking as her eyes filled with unshed tears.
I couldn't even get a word out before she yanked me into her arms, wrapping me in the tightest hug I've ever felt in my life.
Her arms locked around me, refusing to let me go—as if I'd disappear if she did.
I could barely breathe.
But I didn't care.
I just wanted to stay like that forever—wrapped in her warmth, feeling safe for the first time in weeks.
"Thank the heavens... you came back... I thought... I thought he was going to keep you there forever," she whispered against my shoulder, her voice shaking.
I felt something inside me tighten at her words.
I pulled back slightly, just enough to look her in the eyes.
"Did you really think I would ever leave you alone?" I asked softly.
Her lips trembled, and she blinked back more tears.
I placed both hands on her shoulders.
"No matter what happens... no matter who tries to keep me away... I will always come back to you, Mom. Always."
Her chest heaved as she broke into another round of sobs, pulling me into another bone-crushing hug.
I closed my eyes and let myself drown in the moment.
I missed her.
I missed her so damn much.
After what felt like forever, she finally pulled away, her eyes scanning me from head to toe like she was trying to make sure I was really standing in front of her.
"Who brought you home?" she asked, brushing my messy hair from my forehead.
I let out a small bitter laugh.
"Logan," I muttered.
The second his name left my mouth, I saw the way my mom's face twisted in fear.
Her entire body stiffened.
"Logan?" she repeated, like she couldn't believe what she just heard.
I nodded.
"Declan was pissed. He didn't want to let me go. He didn't even want to drive me home." I shrugged. "Logan volunteered to bring me."
Her eyes widened in panic.
"Oh my God... isn't Declan going to hurt him for going against his wish?" she asked, clutching my arm.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her concern.
"Mom, are you seriously forgetting who Logan's father is?" I asked, arching a brow.
She blinked, confused.
"Declan wouldn't dare touch Logan—not when his father holds more power than him," I explained. "If Declan so much as lays a finger on him, hell would break loose. Trust me... he wouldn't even try it."
I saw the relief wash over her face as she breathed out slowly, her shoulders relaxing.
"Thank God," she muttered under her breath. "If it wasn't for Logan, you would have still been locked up in that... that semi-prison."
I stiffened immediately.
That semi-prison?
Seriously?
I let out a dry laugh.
"The only reason Logan brought me home is because he's trying to buy my forgiveness," I snapped. "He thinks driving me home is going to make me forget the fact that he's the reason my relationship with Alexis ended. He's trying to act like some hero now—when he's the one who f**ked everything up in the first place."
My mom's face softened, but instead of agreeing with me like I expected... she sighed.
"Tyler," she started gently, "maybe it's time to let it go."
My head snapped towards her, disbelief rushing through me.
"Let it go?" I repeated slowly, as if I didn't hear her right.
She nodded.
"I know you're angry... but if we're being realistic, Logan only made you see the truth faster. If not for him, you would've still been wasting your time with that girl—believing all her lies."
I clenched my jaw.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"Are you seriously defending him right now?"
"I'm not defending anyone, Tyler," she sighed. "I'm just saying... if Alexis truly loved you, she wouldn't have kissed Logan in the first place."
I sucked in a sharp breath, anger bubbling in my chest.
"She wouldn't have cheated on you if she ever respected you... just like she cheated on her ex with you," my mom added, her voice low.
I froze.

My heart sank.
I hated how those words cut deep—because deep down, I knew she was right.
Alexis was never mine to begin with.
I stole her from someone else.
What made me think she wouldn't do the same thing to me?
I raked a hand through my hair in frustration, trying to block out the bitter truth that was slowly sinking into my bones.
"Tyler," my mom called softly, pulling me out of my thoughts. "What goes around comes around. You hurt someone back then without even realizing it... and now, the universe made sure you felt the same pain."
Karma.
I hated that f**king word.
My whole body tensed, and I glared at her.
"So what now?" I snapped. "You want me to throw a party and thank Logan for helping karma do its job?"
She shook her head, a small smile tugging at her lips.
"All I'm saying is... don't waste your energy hating the wrong person. Logan didn't destroy your relationship, Tyler. Alexis did."
I clenched my fists at my sides.
I hated how she always made sense—even when I didn't want to hear it.
"You're still mad at Logan because deep down... you know he didn't lie," she continued.
I bit down hard on my bottom lip, swallowing the lump in my throat.
Why did moms always know everything?
I stayed silent.
The room suddenly felt too small—like the walls were closing in on me.
My mom took a step closer, her eyes softening.
"You need to forgive him," she whispered.
I shot her a glare.
"Over my dead body."
She let out a light laugh, shaking her head.
"You will."
"No, I won't."
"Yes, you will."
"Mom—"
"I'm not talking about anything else until you agree to forgive him."
I groaned, dragging my hand down my face in frustration.
"What the hell did Logan give you? Did he bribe you or something? Did he perform black magic on you?"
She threw her head back and laughed—like I just cracked the funniest joke in the world.
"No, sweetheart. It's called common sense."
I rolled my eyes, feeling completely defeated.
I knew there was no way I was winning this argument.
Not with her.
"Fine," I muttered through gritted teeth. "I forgive him."
Even though I knew deep down... I wasn't ready to forgive him.
Not now.
Not ever.
My mom's face lit up with a proud smile—like I just won the Nobel Peace Prize or something.
"Good boy," she teased, patting my cheek.
I scowled.
"I hate you."
She grinned.
"I love you too."
I groaned again, sinking into the couch.
I was never going to forgive Logan.
Even if he brought down heaven to earth...
Even if he gave me the whole damn world on a silver platter...
He could rot in hell for all I care.
But for now... I was going to let my mom believe whatever she wanted.
If pretending to forgive Logan would make her smile like that...
Then maybe—just maybe—it was worth it.
Even if I knew the truth would never change.
I was never... ever... going to forgive him.
